Dr. Lees attitude is that you should never stop learning, and that is why he averages 40 hours of continuing education every year. He took part in post-graduate training with a well-know dental implant and sedation dentist, Dr. Chris Harris, and is a contributing member of the Frank Spear Study Club.
Dr. Lee is a native Arizonian, born in Pinetop and raised in Mesa. He is one of nine children and graduated from Westwood High School. After graduation he entered the Marine Corps boot camp and was trained as a petroleum supply specialist for the local reserve unit. He then served a mission in Hawaii. Upon return from his mission he worked as an EFY counselor, where he met his beautiful wife, Melanie, who was also a counselor.
In 2002, he was activated as an infantry reserve for Operation Enduring Freedom, where he spent a year on an anti-terrorist task force. After that assignment, he was activated again for Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was part of the initial push into Iraq. In April 2003, he was wounded in Baghdad and later received a Purple Heart.
Dr. Scott Lee graduated cum laude with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University in 2008. Before attending dental school, he graduated cum laude from Weber State University, where he majored in microbiology and minored in chemistry.Dr. Scott Lee is now a dentist here in the Valley and is the proud father of three wonderful children.
Dr. Gibbons is from the San Francisco Bay Area, where she attended University of the Pacifics 6-year accelerated bachelors/DDS program. One of the things that attracted her most to dentistry is the ability to help people on a daily basis. Growing up in the San Francisco area, she saw the huge need that exists in communities. Helping to meet that need whenever possible has always been a passion of hers. She has volunteered in various ways including youth mentoring and tutoring in the community, volunteering at Oakland Childrens hospital, church mission trips, St. Marys free dental clinic in Stockton CA, and she is a member of Alphi Phi Omega national service fraternity.
Dr. Arthur Kerle, or as he prefers to be called, Dr. K, is a Michigander. He decided he wanted to be a dentist at the age of 10, thanks to the influence of his 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Goodrich and his dentist, Dr. McDowell. Dr. Kerle grew up near Ann Arbor and received his BA from Hope College and then went to the University of Michigan for a Masters of Science focusing on histology, embryology and organogenesis. He graduated from the Michigan School of Dentistry in 1984.
He practiced in Northern Michigan for 23 years and then took a brief departure from dentistry and taught anatomy, physiology, histology, human pathology, comparative anatomy and forensics at the university level.
A mission trip to Bolivia helped him realize that his heart really was in dentistry. He has been blessed to be able to continue his passion of helping patients. He is a strong advocate of patient choice and enjoys working with his staff to give the patient the best treatment suited to their needs.
Dr. Kerle followed his son and his family to Gilbert and is fortunate to be able to be Grandpapa and babysitter for three grandchildren, three dogs and 35 chickens. Hes loving Arizona, the people, the food and the wonderful mornings!

Called desert family dental in the morning complaining about lower jaw pain. They got me in right away that afternoon and took great care of me. The entire office staff was gracious, welcoming and so very helpful in getting me the right treatment. Best dentist experience ever. Looking forward to going back to get my issues solved.

The kindest staff, from the front desk to the hygienist and the dentist. They worked with me on my anxiety and we were able to come up with a plan that was comfortable with me. Amazing staff, especially if you need any kind of accommodations for dental anxiety.

Went to have my teeth cleaned and X-rays for $99 as advertised on card I got. After 1 1/2 hours of X-rays, teeth pictures and 4 different gum check probing, couldn't have teeth cleaned because needed something else. In essence, $99 for X-rays, a sore mouth and No Teeth cleaning. Offered to do several things for $7700- for an 82 year old.

I am always happy with my dental care at Desert Family Dental. My teeth like it, too. All of the staff members are friendly and knowledgeable. My dental hygienist is efficient and fun. Both dentists are great! I forgot my new insurance card, but staff was able to find my info while my teeth were cleaned. I love it!

The team over at DFD are extremely nice and professional! They do a wonderful job, and get you in and out at your scheduled time; which is important to me because of how busy life is. 10/10!

I got my treatment plan yet it has 2018 -2020-2021 not sure why it did not show todays visit. I have been a patient at this office for quite some time, and it seems that they care about insurance quote instead off patient care! My hygienist was awesome! But the staff

I've been coming here for a couple of years. They've done cleanings, a crown/root canal, and a couple cavities. The jury is still out (hence a generous 3 stars), but today was a customer service debacle. I went in for a routine cleaning. As we got started, the hygienist noticed that it's been less than 6 months since my last cleaning and wanted to be sure my insurance would cover the cost. I'm grateful for her concern, but when they discovered that my insurance would not cover the cleaning, they asked if I wanted to pay out of pocket. Of course not, so they sent me home even after I expressed disappointment that this was their scheduling error, not mine. I would never ask a customer to pay for my mistake. The hygienist gets paid whether my teeth get cleaned or not. I don't get it. It makes you feel like the dentist is more concerned about money than the health or service experience of the patient.

The staff is amazing and makes going to the dentist easy. Any preexisting concerns or poor experiences with different providers were in the rear view mirror as soon as I was greeted at the front desk. That comforting experience followed me throughout my interactions in the office from a deep cleaning to major work with the dentists. The communication during each appointment was clear and I felt confident with each step no matter how big or small the procedure. I look forward to a more confident smile with these incredible folks at Desert Family Dental.

Happy Beautiful Ladies each and everyone. The Girls make going to the dentist so very relaxing, calming, enjoyable and fun. So many laughs even with your mouth opened, numbed up The best are all their pretty white smiles. Even behind their masks. Perfect. An appt to the dentist office who knewI understand there is a handsome male dentist as well. So all gender will enjoy going to the dentist A++
