My husband, children, and I have been seeing Dr. Wieseler for over four years, and I have nothing but good things to say about him and his staff. Theyve always been super friendly, professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Ive seen a lot of dentists over the years, and hes my favorite so far! Sandy D. (Five-Star Google Review)

Families come in all shapes and sizes. We want to welcome all of you to join our extended family at our dental office in Hermiston. We understand, recognize, and appreciate your individual needs, and at the end of the day, were all human, were all family.

We open the doors of our dental office in Hermiston to wonderful patients who visit us from all across Mid-Columbia. We actually want to do as much as we can to stay out of your mouth and perform less dental work over time.

Dr. Ryan Wieseler was born and raised in Columbia Basin on a farm. He spent several summers working on a farm just outside of Hermiston, so its safe to say hes familiar with the neighborhood and all of the fine folks who call it home.

After graduation from high school, Dr. Wieseler went on to attend Washington State University in Pullman, where he pursued a major in zoology, while also running track and field for the Cougs. He went on to complete his undergraduate education with honors. He decided he wanted to choose a profession that allowed him to help people in ways they could not be helped before. He wanted to get to know people, learn about whats going on in their lives, understand their oral and overall health needs, and stick with them as a trusted healthcare partner. Dr. Wieseler soon graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. After completing his doctorate, Dr. Wieseler and his family moved to Hermiston, where he purchased Desert Dental in 2008.

Dr. Wieseler has a love for dentistry and learning about advancements in the field. Hes completed continuing education through the prestigious Spear Education and the KOIS Center. Hes also accumulated hundreds of continuing education hours as Co-Director of the Seattle Study Club (SSC) and Great Blue Heron East Study Club which operates under the umbrella of the SSC and is dedicated to providing comprehensive continuing education for dental professionals locally.

Dr. Wieseler says if he wasnt a dentist he might just have stayed on the farm. Because he grew up farming, he says its always been a plan B and we believe it! You might see him outside our office tending to his beehives while youre having a hygiene cleaning. Besides bees, hes also passionate about his family, their farm animals, hunting, fishing, gardening, and sports.

In 2004, Dr. Wieseler married his high school sweetheart, Amy, who is a teacher. They have three beautiful children: Delaney, Colton, and Brenna. Alongside Amy, Dr. Wieseler worked to create a science program at their childrens elementary school. The family donates extra supplies to the local schools every spring.

Dr. Wieseler is also an active Rotary member and volunteers in the community with the 4-H and Future Farmers of America clubs. He also participates in dental mission trips to Honduras with Desert Dentals previous owner Dr. Spomer. Dr. Wieseler also provides some charity work within our office, practicing case by case on a limited basis.

Lisa earned a bachelor of science in dental hygiene at Oregon Health Sciences University and has over three decades of dental experience. Shes been with our office since 2014. As a dental hygienist, Lisa is responsible for helping to keep your teeth clean and your smile healthy. When asked what she loves most about being a dental hygienist, Lisa says its seeing the difference I can make in a patients oral health, as well as building a personal relationship with them. She decided to pursue a career as a dental hygienist after her high school mentor (a dentist) encouraged her to give it a try. Lisa also loves the science behind dental care. She says working at Desert Dental is a unique experience because of our commitment to comprehensive care and educating patients on all treatment possibilities while ensuring their overall health is the utmost importance. Lisa says after all these years in dentistry, she feels like shes the best dental hygienist shes ever been and the support and mindset of Desert Dental has helped her grow. When shes not taking care of teeth, Lisa is usually involved in family activities with her three children, enjoying the outdoors, exercising, crafting, and drawing. She also leads the childrens choir at her church and participates in the adult choir.

Shawnta attended Rogue Community College and has been working in dentistry since 2014. As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, Shawntas responsibilities include assisting the doctor and always being a team player. The best part about the work she does is getting to meet new people and helping them enjoy better oral and overall health. Even though she didnt like the dentist growing up, Shawnta wouldnt choose anything else for work over being a dental assistant. When you meet Shawnta, youll find that shes calm, a multitasker, unique, healthy, and caring. Outside of the office, Shawnta is a busy mom to two young children. She loves spending time with them, riding bikes, being outdoors, and traveling to new places. Shawnta is a self-confessed sports fanatic who volunteers with her sons teams.

Ashley is a graduate of Blue Mountain Community College and has been working in the dental field since 2010. Shes been a part of the Desert Dental family since 2014. Shes responsible for staying up to date with OSHA regulations, paying bills, assisting the doctor during complex cases, sterilization, lab work, and helping patients during their visits. When asked what Ashely loves best about her job, she said helping people and watching them change how they see themselves. She became interested in dentistry in high school while job shadowing, where she realized she loved oral surgery. She says working at Desert Dental is unique because every patient is treated like family, and we do full mouth dentistry, not single tooth dentistry. Ashley is loyal, honest, hard-working, motivated, and helpful. She was born and raised in Hermiston and is a Marine veteran where she served from 2004 to 2008. Ashley likes watching her son play sports, going to the mountains, and hunting.

I was not established as a patient with Desert Dental and I chipped a tooth. They were able to get me seen in less than a week. Dr. Wieseler was thorough and did not recommend any unneccessary work. All the staff were very friendly!

Dr. Wieseler and his assistant are amazing. I have always hated the dentist but they both make you feel really comfortable and make the whole experience more relaxing. instead of being robotic and just going through the everyday same explanations like every other dentist I've been too. I would definitely recommend anyone and everyone visit him for they're dental needs.

Developed temperature and pressure sensitivity in a tooth over the weekend. Called Desert Dental at 8 AM Mon and got an appt for that afternoon. Dr. Wieseler diagnosed a beginning infection and said I need a root canal. Made a referral and appt for me for a little over an hour later in Richland with a specialist. Office had sent insurance info by time I got out of dental chair. I left for home then Richland immediately. Dr. there confirmed diagnosis and I got back with my root canal completed by 5 PM. Excellent service and very professional. Good, caring people.
