Dr. Sanford is an Army brat who graduated from Munich American High School in Munich Germany. She received her bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She received her doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1989. She received her Masters of Science from the University of Detroit in 1991.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Sanford completed an Advanced General Practice residency at the University of Detroit Mercy in 1991. In her residency, she received additional training in treating medically compromised patients, endodontics (root canals), oral surgery, pedodontics, periodontics (gum disease), and prosthodontics (crowns, implants, and dentures).
Adrian began his dental career 23 years ago as a dental technician in the US Navy. He graduated first in his class and was stationed overseas for a time. He joined Desert Dental Care in 2010 as a dental assistant and transitioned to the front office several years ago. He loves working with patients to help them maximize their insurance benefits. He is attentive and strives to ensure every patient has a clear understanding of their insurance benefits.
Frida is a Scottsdale native and is bilingual in English and Spanish. She graduated from Arizona Center for Youth Resources and attended My Dental Dentistry& Education. She loves to work with patients and helps to create a positive dental experience. Frida is family oriented. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, working out with her boyfriend and her dogs.
Trudy is our newest team member. Shes been in the dental field for over 21 years. Shes an Arizona native, born and raised in Tsaile. She moved to the valley in 1996. Trudy always wanted to work in the dental field and enjoys caring for patients and help making their smiles gorgeous.
Born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, Edwardo is bilingual in English and Spanish. He started in dentistry as a dental assistant in 2009. Discovering that he enjoyed the interactions with patients and wanted to be more involved with their dental health, he went to hygiene school. As a dental hygienist, he likes to provide a gentle and welcoming dental experience. In his spare time, he likes to work out and do DIY projects at home. He also enjoys volunteering at different dental events such as AZ MOM, Special Smiles, & Special Olympics.
If your child needs restorative treatment in the form of a filling or crown, Dr. Stacey Sanford and her team will create a custom treatment plan for your child and review all options with you before treatment begins. We believe a conservative approach to childrens dentistry is usually the best course of action.
Fillings are placed in the tooth following decay removal to preserve natural tooth structure. Nowadays most fillings are made of a composite resin that is matched to your childs natural tooth color. In some rare instances amalgam (silver) fillings may be used.
Crowns can be made of many different materials depending on where in your childs mouth they are to be used. Stainless steel, resin, and zirconia are all durable choices and require very similar preparations.
Sometimes an area of decay is too large for a filling or the decay has compromised the whole side of a tooth, so there is not enough tooth structure to support a filling. If your child has an accident that results in a heavily damaged tooth or if your child is at high risk for developing cavities, the doctor may decide its best to preserve the entire remaining structure.

I have been seeing Dr. Sanford for over 10+years. From the moment you walk in you are warmly greeted, and they are always on time for appointments. I trust and have confidence in Dr. Sanford and her staff with all my dental needs. They answer my questions and make me feel at ease. Everyone is worried about going to the dentist because they are nervous about being judged for not having perfect teeth. Well.. look no further! Doctor Stacey and her staff are the ultimate professionals with the best bed side manner & customer service. I have a lot of stuff that needs to be done & they put a great plan in place for me. I have been coming to the office for many years. Stacey and her staff are excellent. She only does the needed work and doesn't overcharge for her services. I had my teeth cleaned today, and they look and feel fantastic!
