I grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa. I obtained a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Iowa. I graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2006. I have enjoyed practicing dentistry over the past 13 years in both private practice and in public health care settings.
I am a member of the American Dental Association and the Iowa Dental Association. I am also on the University of Iowa College of Dentistry Alumni Board. I have been a key contact between the Iowa Dental Association and a member of the Iowa House of Representatives. Most recently, I have become a member of the Spear Study Club here in Des Moines.
Family is very important to me, and it is always my goal to treat you, the patient, like family. Iwill strive to help make you feel comfortable and satisfied with each visit you have at this office! And we hope that in time, you feel like you are part of our family!
Our lead dental assistant, June Canfield, has been working in the dental field for almost 25 years. She has been a dental assistant for 20 years and has always enjoyed the variety of each day in the dental office. Helping patients feel comfortable in the dental chair, as well as helping restore a patients smile, are what she likes best about working in the dental field. In her free time, June and her husband enjoy traveling to Northern Minnesota.
Our Registered Dental Hygienist, Melissa Snyder, has worked in the dental field for more than four years. She has always been passionate about oral health, and enjoys educating her patients about the impact oral health has on their overall health. Her favorite part of her job is being able to meet and get to know her patients on a personal level. Melissa has been told repeatedly by her patients that she has a very gentle touch and in turn makes their experience getting their teeth cleaned more comfortable. When she is not working, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Kristen joined our team as our front office coordinator in 2018. She has over 14 years experience in the dental industry, and she excels in helping our patients with their dental benefits and insurance claims. When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, attending live music events, and gardening.
Lindsey has been practicing dental hygiene since 2013 and joined our team March 2019. She is passionate about establishing relationships with her patients while helping them better understand the correlation between oral health and overall body health, as well as the importance of preventative care. She strives to make patients feel well cared for and comfortable at each and every visit. In her free time, Lindsey enjoys chasing around her daughter, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

I've been going to DMFD for about 5 years. Dr. Main and Melissa do a great job. I used to hate going to the dentist, now I look forward to seeing them! I highly recommend them.

Undoubtedly the best dental-related experience I've ever had. From the first day I visited this office I've felt as though I've been cared for and treated like family. Nevertheless, my teeth have been improved on since visiting here for the past 3 years. Conveniently located in downtown, and free parking, AND knowledgeable, friendly, personable dentists/hygienists -- highly recommend!

Had a great experience here. Thorough dental exam in a timely fashion! Dr. Main did a great job answer my questions and concerns. And the hygienist did a great job of letting me know about the other services they offer without being a salesperson.

I love Dr. Jenny. She is caring, compassionate, and does excellent work. I know that you will like her, too. I live closer to many other dental offices but I will drive further to see her. Everyone in the office is great.

The friendliest staff I've ever had. Super helpful when making decisions about the health and well being of my teeth. I felt comfortable even with the condition of my teeth. Every appointment has been very quick......you go back, they do what you're there for, see if there are questions or concerns, you pay and are on your way out feeling great about your experience. I won't be going anywhere else now that I've found Dr. Main and her wonderful staff.

My husband and I started going here in the beginning of the year. We love the atmosphere, dentist, and her staff. The dentist is very kind and knowledgeable.I was experiencing so many problems with my teeth, and she was able to figure out the problem immediately. Truly a step up from Aspen Dental.

We recently moved to Des Moines, so I went hunting for a new family dentist. This practice is well-run and efficient. Everyone is so friendly, and they explain everything they're doing as they do it. They were so patient and kind with us, even though we were not the best patients (running late, rambunctious 4-year-old, new therapy dog in training). They rolled with everything and did it with a smile. I appreciated it very much! Oh, and I should add that my husband and I enjoyed our goody bags, and my son is still playing with the bag of toys they gave him! He says thank you!

I love it here . Everyone is super friendly ! I've never experienced such kindness while going to the dentist . My daughter was afraid to go but now she is looking forwards to seeing everyone again , and that's a huge win in our family . Definitely going to be our family dentistry forever !

Dr.Main is always very professional. I used to be very nervous about dental appts. but she has made my checkups less stressful. Office is always bright & cheerful. I have gone to this dental office for years, very happy Dr.Snavely chose Dr Main to take over his practice. Choose Dr Main as your dentist, they will take care of all your dental needs.

When I moved to Des Moines, I dreaded finding a new dentist. But after three years worth of appointments with Dr. Jenny Main & Co., it's clear I'm not going anywhere else. The staff is friendly and courteous, AND you can watch Netflix while getting your teeth cleaned. I highly recommend Des Moines Family Dentistry.
