An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.
Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is an advanced, proven technology that provides more precise three-dimensional (3D) imaging for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of oral health conditions. 3D dental X-rays can uncover issues that may not be detectable with 2D X-rays. By making images easier to see, its helpful in gaining a better understanding of oral health conditions and suggested treatment.

I had a very traumatic dental experience over 25 yrs ago and had not seen a dentist since. I broke a tooth over the weekend and had to find a dentist ASAP. I called Derby Modern Dentistry and was greeted by a very sweet caring young lady. She walked me through everything I needed to know to take this huge step. She got me in 30 min later. When I arrived I was immediately at ease with the choice I made. This staff is absolutely without a doubt the most caring, people I have ever met. They attended to my dental needs, my fears, worries and financial needs. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you to all staff and especially to Mr John Austin Griffith DDS for the supreme care I have ever received. God Bless you all.

Was very pleased with Dr.John Griffith and his staff.I had to have a root canal w/crown.They were able to do this procedure in one day.All staff was very pleasant and made sure I was as comfortable as humanly possible throughout the procedure. Dr explained everything throughly as did his Hygenist.Would highly recommend Derby Modern Dentistry.

My husband and I went to Derby Modern Dentistry and had appointments on the same day. We were very pleased with the excellent service and expertise of all the staff. The exam was very thorough. The dentist explained what needed to be done with both of our dental problems and how to fix them. We will definitely be using this Dental office from now on.

Great first visit! Kim, Sam, Trianna and Kelly are all so personable! Dr. Griffith is super nice and very informative with treatment explaination. He greeted me to start my appointment process then Trianna took care of my xrays, intra oral photos, and medical history info. Dr. Griffith came back to go over everything and discuss any treatment that he'd recommend. Kelly the hygienist saw me for my cleaning. She's laid back and great at what she does! Sam was helpful with explaining finances for treatment. All over an awesome team in this office!!

I was seen for the first time this morning, for an emergency appointment. I ended up needing some extensive work and they were phenomenal in their explanations, talking me through insurance and billing, and taking wonderful care of my extraction/oral surgery! I've never had such a smooth dentist appt, ever! The staff was the friendliest, most caring set of folks I've had the pleasure of working with. Let's note, too, I hate dentists! So, thank you, Derby Modern Dentistry! You've earned yourself a new, life time patient.

From walking in until the time I left, everything was great! The front desk attendant knew exactly who I was and had my paperwork ready to go. Then once Dr. Griffith saw me, he was professional and friendly. Will be recommending him to everyone from here on out!

First good dental experience in quite a while. They are very transperant and run through everything with you and make sure that you know whats happening. They also do a good job of making you feel comfortable and actively listening to you during the procedures.

I do not often create a post. Rarely, even. That said, I feel compelled to say something about Derby Modern Denistry. A sixth star would have been chosen had it been available. I broke a tooth. At my age, I know such things will amount to a root canal and a crown. I also know my out-of-pocket expenditure will likely be in the $800+ dollar range with at least two if not three visits. Not here. First, I am a new patient. These folks don't know me from a hole in the wall and likely there are some similarities. Nonetheless, they had me in (on a Monday) within hours of my call. There was no fluff or sales gimmicks wherein a cleaning is done first ($$) and then the Dentist assesses the real reason for your visit. This staff went right to work on the problem. Within 15 minutes I had the option of a root canal and crown done in one day or splitting it up in two appointments. I chose option #1. Dr Griffith explained each step of the procedure and gave me options. When I asked about cost, Kimberly, the Office Manager, came in and had a break down of what my insurance would pay and what my obligation would be. No secrets. No surprises. Just good long forgotten customer service. By the way, they had me completely finished up in less than four hours with no need for a follow-up visit. In my estimation, then only thing worse than a visit to the Dentist is an afternoon shopping. But, I cannot say enough good about how I was treated and the care I received. Lest I forget - the amount paid was far less than I expected, too. Check them out. I know you'll be equally impressed.
