Dr. Reilender graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1999, and practiced in Derby until his passing in October 2016. He was dedicated to his practice and was loved by his employees and patients. The quality, compassion, and care to which Dr. Reilender was committed have set the standard for Derby Family Dentistry.
Dr. Brad Norden is a native of Mulvane, KS. He received his bachelors degree from Kansas State University and then completed his dental degree at the University of MissouriKansas City in 2007. Upon graduating, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. In the first year he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry before serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower for two years, deploying twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Serving in the Navy gave him valuable experience and hands-on training in treating a wide variety of dental patients and conditions. He has been with Derby Family Dentistry since 2011, and he continues to gain additional dental training each year. When not at work, Dr. Norden enjoys spending time with his wife and children, or simply enjoying the quiet life of small town Kansas. Dr. Norden is committed to providing the best care he can and loves seeing new patients.
Dr. Stark grew up in Newton, KS, and still has a lot of family in the area. He attended Wichita State University and the University of Texas at Austin prior to attending the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He then returned to Kansas to practice and be near family.
Dr. Stark firmly follows Derby Family Dentistrys goals of patient education and informed consent. He strives to ensure that all patients understand their condition, treatment options and outcomes, and are treated in a compassionate manner. He is a member of the American Orthodontic Society, American Dental Association, and the Kansas Dental Association.
Jodie has been managing the practice since it opened in 2000. Her focus is now the business end of the practice. She handles the accounts payable, payroll, employees and their benefits, advertising and the everyday task to keep the business running smoothly. She loves working with such a professional and fun team.
Cherie is one of our scheduling coordinators, greeting patients when they first arrive in the office. She files insurance pretreatments, claims and posting of payments. She has been with our office since 2010 and we are blessed to have her as part of our dental team.
Mandy graduated with her bachelors degree in dental hygiene from Wichita State University in 2018. She worked for a practice in Wichita until she joined our team in 2019. She loves helping people set and accomplish their oral health goals. She also enjoys getting to build relationships with her patients along the way.
Marci graduated from Fort Scott Community College in 1988, where she received her associate degree in science. She later received both a second associate degree in dental hygiene and a bachelors degree in health science from Wichita State University in 1990. She joined Derby Family Dentistry in 2001.
Shenandoah is a dental hygienist and has been with the practice since 2010. She loves building relationships and educating patients about their oral health. Her goal each day is to have her patients leaving our office feeling well cared for and confident in their own ability to achieve optimal oral health.
Cherrie started her dental career in 1974, bringing many years of experience with her. She has worked in all aspects of dentistry, including front office, dental assistant instructor, office manager, insurance coordinator and patient coordinator. Cherrie joined us in 2012 as Dr. Nordens dental assistant and has now transitioned into the role of insurance coordinator. She enjoys the opportunity her position brings for her to meet new people and takes pride in the strong relationships she builds with her patients.Getting to know each patient as an individual, helping them to overcome their dental fears, and working with such a compassionate team is what I love about my job.
Emily graduated from WSU Tech, where she completed her certification in Dental Assisting in 2020 and an Associate of Applied Science degree. Upon graduating, she became employed with our office in May of 2020. She has proven to be an excellent assistant and a great addition to our dental team.
Tonya has been a member of our team since 2019 and has been a dental assistant since 2006. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family.The interaction with my patients is what I love best about being an assistant.

Go in for two loose teeth to be pulled. They wanna check your teeth tell you tes you have loose teeth.reschedule & charge you$100

Highly recommend! Friendly front desk staff, you can fill out new patient forms online so check-in is quick. Caryn was very thorough while cleaning and gave good recommendations. The dentist was polite and the cleaning process was painless. Honestly the environment was very relaxed and soothing but still very professional.

Easy to get in to see a provider. When you arrive they take you back quickly. The front desk staff is great. They had everything prepared for my visit when I arrived. MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY TOLD ME THE TRUTH! They are honest about my care, and what I will have to pay, Everyone is "on the same page" about taking care of me and about what my insurance will pay and when. They treat me as if I have been going there for 20 years even though this was only my second time. I saw Dr. Stark who made sure that I was well cared for and that all of my concerns were addressed. My treatment area was clean and well stocked. Emily who was Dr. Stark's assistant that day, never had to leave or run around the practice trying to find what the Doctor needed next. She had everything he asked for right there throughout my procedure. As you can see I've been elsewhere in Derby that had stocking, organizational, and integrity challenges but not here. Derby Family Dentistry is awesome. I'm so glad I found them.

I've been in Derby Family Dentistry many times over the years, but Dr. Stark I've only seen once briefly for an emergency check on a tooth hurting. Although my total experience with this tooth didn't turn out with the best outcome. Meaning I went to a referred endodontist and had a root canal, which 3 weeks later the tooth cracked and I needed it pulled. Dr Stark is the one that pulled the tooth and put in a bone graft. I must say I was VERY impressed with how he handled all of it. He was very personable and told me everything that was going on. He even had to wait briefly for me to get myself together as I was trying not to break down and cry!! They also allowed my husband in with me which was a great comfort to me. Plus he was also able to show my husband how the tooth had cracked before he started to pull it. Over all, I had a great experience with Dr. Stark & his assistant. They were both kind, informative and made me feel comfortable being there. 1 out of 10 they get a 15. Even though I would have rather had a different outcome with this tooth, I feel I was in the best hands and hope he is able to do the implant when the time comes! Thank you Dr. Stark!! And the rest of the team at Family Dentistry as well. You all have always been super kind and informative.

We have going to this office for nearly a decade and cannot recommend it enough. Derby Family Dentistry always has well organized appointment planning and availability for us. Appointments are always thorough and we receive great care. Derby Family Dentistry also provided emergency service recently for my son and was able to get him in within 24 hours.
