Dr. Joseph DeRario DMD graduated from the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1973. He opened his 1st private practice in 1974 and expanded his practice in 1986 with the opening of his office. Dr. DeRario finished implantology school at Harvard in 1988 and went on to complete his fellowship in 1992. In 2017, Dr. DeRario established a private practice in Monmouth County, New Jersey where he resides. His New Jersey office is located on the Jersey Shore at 530 Prospect Ave., Little Silver. Dr. DeRario continues his post-graduate studies annually in various areas of dentistry, including periodontics, prosthetics, and implantology.
Dr. Kaitlyn Lafferty was born and raised in Staten Island, New York. She received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the Catholic University of America in Washington DC, and went on to earn her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Rutgers University. Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Lafferty completed a one year general practice residency program at Staten Island University Hospital, where she gained further experience in emergent dental care as well as comprehensive dental care.
Dr. Lafferty has worked in private practices in busy metropolitan areas including NYC and Jersey City. She is an active member of the NY and NJ dental association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Lafferty has just moved to Little Silver, NJ and is thrilled to be working in the town she now calls home! Her goal is to create positive dental experiences for patients. She takes great pride in her work and enjoys forming meaningful relationships with her patients.
During Dr. Lafferty's free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, listening to live music, exercising, and seeing family and friends. She has recently picked up golf, but is still working on her swing!

Dr D and his entire staff are amazing. Highly professional and personal. I was concerned with pain and Dr D treated me with pain injections and my multiple visits were pain free. I had a dental emergency during Covid and he helped me through it until I could get to the office. I highly recommend them.

Dr. DeRario is the BEST!! I have been searching for dentist like him for years -(where has he been all my life?!! ) I actually look forward to my dentist appointments. If you are looking for a dentist who is comforting and caring along with a staff who is the same, make an appointment with their office. You won't regret it!

My journey with my dentist Dr. Derario has been such a pleasure both professionally and personally. I have always been satisfied and have never encountered any disappointment in his guidance or his expertise. I feel so fortunate to have found a top rated dentist who I trust and rely on. The dentist was caring, concerned, and friendly while maintaining professional and efficient service standards. The office staff was caring and warm, a great experience from start to finish. I was so very thankful for the excellent care I received at the dentist. The only issue I may have found is that there was limited parking.

Dr DeRario and all the staff are wonderful. They are patient, caring, experienced and courteous. Dr DeRario is extremely skilled. I have always been nervous going to the dentist but they are very reassuring and compassionate from the first phone call with Joanne I knew I was in the right hands. I have had root canals and now a dental implant with Dr Derario and it's amazing how painless it was. He and Amy are very reassuring. She always makes it a pleasant experience and Dr Derario always makes it painless every single time and the office is immaculate and serene.
