Raised in Denver in the 1960s and 70s, then returning following his graduation from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska, Dan is practically a Denver native. At the age of three, he and his family relocated from Portland to south Denver where his father, an allergist, started his own practice. Upon completing dental school, Dan started a practice of his own, which he successfully managed and grew for seven years. By the late 90s, he was eager to accept an offer to merge with the practice of Drs. John Bassett and Gerry Wallace, two local, well respected leaders in the dental community. Dan became a full partner with Drs. Bassett and Wallace in January of 1998 and worked with them for 16 years before their retirement.
Dan is very active professionally outside the practice. He is a past-President of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society and is currently the chairman of the Colorado Dental Association Peer Review committee. Dan has conducted seminars for hundreds of dentists in the United States and the United Kingdom on the topic of Occlusion and TMJ disorders. Nationally, Dan is a member of the American Equilibration Society and the Academy of Osseointegration, the leading organization involved with dental implants. His accomplishments and contributions to dentistry have been recognized by his selection for induction into the International College of Dentists.
When Dan isnt working, he can usually be found with one or more of his kids in a stream with a fly rod, on an ice rink with a hockey stick or hard at play in some other sporting event. His love of hockey and dentistry has come to fruition as the team dentist for the Colorado Avalanche since 2012. Dan and his wife, Carol, live in southeast Denver and have three children: Hannah, Emma, and Patrick.
Andrea was born and raised on a family farm in Hoxie, Kansas, population 1,189. While she enjoyed small town life, her curiosity about the world eventually got the best of her and, after graduating from high school, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska. Convinced that education was a path to greater opportunities, Andrea continued her schooling at Creighton University, where she earned an undergraduate degree in theology and classical languages. When presented with the chance to further expand her horizons by traveling to the Dominican Republic to help set up medical clinics in a remote village, she jumped at the chance. The experience ultimately changed Andreas career aspirations and her life. She witnessed firsthand how dentistry can dramatically improve peoples health and their lives. She consequently returned to Nebraska to receive her doctorate at Creighton University School of Dentistry.
After graduating with honors in 2004, Andrea opened a private practice in Omaha then soon was offered the opportunity to work and train in Colorado under a leader in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Around this time she also graduated from the Misch International Implant Institute (MIII) and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) MaxiCourse, both one-year continuums for implant education. A passionate learner, she became a Fellow in the American Academy of General Dentistry and the American College of Dentists. Dr. Taylor currently serves as the first female President for 2022-2023 of the worlds leading TMD academy, the AES Leaders in Occlusion, TMD, and Comprehensive Oral Care, and was Co-Chair of planning the academys 2019 scientific meeting. She is also the President of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society for the 2022-2023 academic year. Along with Dr. Selner, she has been a team dentist for the Colorado Avalanche since 2012.
Dr. Bassett hand selected Dr. Taylor and in 2009 she bought his practice and became a partner at Denver Tech Dentistry. Andrea continues to apply her small-town values and worldly experiences toward delivering life defining care for patients. She is grateful to be part of close-knit community of medical and dental experts focused on ideal patient outcomes. Andrea says, our collaborative approach enables us to offer our patients a unique set of solutions that theyre not going to get very many other places in the U.S.
Family is important to Andrea, and she cherishes spending time with spouse Mike and her three busy children, Will, Luke, and Nora. Together, they camp, ski, and take full advantage of all that Colorado has to offer.
Dr. Kyle Griffith graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. Prior to his acceptance into dental school, Kyle was a recipient of the Health Professions Scholarship Program through the United States Army. He attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and was awarded the Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree while graduating within the top ten percent of the matriculating class.
After dental school, Kyle went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Fort Hood, Texas. This two-year program consisted of didactic and clinical training in the various dental specialties. He graduated as the top U.S. resident within the program.
While on Active Duty with the United States Army, Dr. Griffith conducted research into the utilization of auxiliary staff and the treatment of high caries risk patients, was the Pacific Region High Caries Risk Officer, the Schofield Barracks Infection Control Officer, a member of both the South Korea and Hawaii OIP team, the Chief of General Dentistry at Schofield Barracks in charge of supervising a total of six additional dentists and eighteen auxiliary staff, and was awarded both the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. Dr. Griffith received an Honorable Discharge after six years of service, separating at the rank of Major.
After leaving the Army, Kyle moved to Colorado and for 7 years successfully grew his own private dental practice, 58 Dental, here in Denver. In late 2021 Drs. Selner and Taylor offered Kyle to merge his practice with Denver Tech Dentistry to which Kyle happily accepted.
Dr. Griffith provides his patients with comprehensive dental care, supported by the latest research. Patients describe him as a great communicator, kind and compassionate, and a dentist who truly loves making a difference in his patients lives.
Many of our current patients have been counting on us for their dental health since visiting a young Dr. Bassett in his first office in Aurora started over 50 years ago. And, today we are proud to provide care to their children and grandchildren. The rest, as we say, is history. Our history.
Dr. John Bassett moved to Colorado in 1967 to begin his career in private dentistry. In October of 1968 he began our practice in a small converted home in southeast Aurora. Dr. Bassett knew he wanted to evolve his practice of dentistry, so it could become much more than a focus on cleaning teeth and filling cavities. After considerable thought, he coined the term Comprehensive Dentistry and developed a practice centered around comprehensive dental care that promoted better health.
In 1981 Dr. Gerry Wallace joined Dr. Bassetts rapidly growing practice after leaving his military career in the U.S. Airforce. Dr. Bassett and Wallace remained partners for over 30 years before their retirement in 2014 and 2015 respectively. The values of Drs. Bassett and Wallace continue to inspire us today. We are always improving our methods, technology, techniques, and knowledge. Its the best way that we can continue to fully serve our patients and influence our industry. Our goalhas always been to provide our patients with a comfortable and comprehensive dental experience where working together we can improve lives and health.
