Denver Health was foundedas City Hospital in 1860 to serve thehealth care needs of the rapidly developing city of Denver. Since then, we have grown alongside the community to become a complete health care system, proudly providing care for all residents-- at every point in their lives. We believe healthy people are the foundation of a vibrant community, and Denver Health has been treating and healing the people of Denver for more than 160 years.

Today, Denver Healthdelivers preventative, primary and acute care services. We are committed to making our community a healthy place to live, work and raise a family. Youll see that commitment in the programs we offer, through the care we provide and in our determination to achieve continuous improvement so our community always has the best care available.

As acomprehensive, integrated organization, we provide hospital and emergency care to thepublic, regardless of ability to pay. This integration promotes continuity of care for each patient and assureshealth care that is delivered in the most efficient, cost-effective setting.

Denver Health and Hospital Authority (the Authority) was created by the Colorado legislature as a body corporate and political subdivision of the State of Colorado pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes 25-29-101, et seq. (the Act). The Authority began operations on January 1, 1997 after having separated from the City and County of Denver (the City). On January 1, 1997, the City transferred substantially all of the healthcare programs, services and facilities of the Citys former Department of Health and Hospitals to the Authority. The Authority is governed by an eleven-member Board of Directors that is responsible for the operation of the Authoritys health system, including the Denver Health Medical Center.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Denver Health! There are many options for community members to contribute their time and talent through our Volunteer Services programs to provide support to our patients, staff and community.

The Denver Health volunteer program began in 1935 to help Denver Health to fulfill its threefold goal of patient care, education and research. The role of the volunteer is to supplement the professional staff, thereby freeing time to provide the best medical, nursing and support services to patients. Volunteers add the extra dimensions of empathy, sensitivity, warmth, and friendliness to ease and brighten a patients hospital stay or clinic visit. Denver Health has about 200-350 active volunteers throughout the year.

  • Book Cart: Volunteers visit each patient room in our medical surgery floors and offer a variety of books, magazines and puzzles. They also help in acquiring basic needs such as toiletries, reading glasses and phone chargers.
  • Pediatric Volunteers: Help our Child Life specialists in the DECC, Pediatric Unit, and Neonatal with our littlest patients! You will be hosting activities, help with events and care for our pediatric patients.
  • Pet Therapy: Volunteers and their certified (through Alliance of Therapy Dogs or Pet Partners) pet therapy dogs spread joy and comfort to patients, visitors and staff with visits throughout the hospital
  • Are you interested in helping but not able to make the commitment required to become a consistent hospital volunteer? Donations are a great way to help! Donations areaccepted in the volunteer office, located in the Volunteer and Patient Services Zone on the first floor of Pavilion C, Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4 pm. Outside of these hours, donations can be made at the main information desk in Pavilion A, the hospitals main entrance.

Denver Health Foundation'sNewborns in Needprogram comes to the rescue for expecting families who are struggling to make ends meet. Thanks to generous donors and volunteers, we collect thousands of new baby items to fill our Warm Welcome bags that are given to new moms and dads who really need and appreciate this extra help.

With our Reach Out and Read program, gently used books are placed in waiting areas at clinics to create literacy-rich environments, given to siblings during Well Child Visits, and offered to patients during sick visits. It is our goal that every time a child enters our clinics that they leave with a book in their hands. Help us make this goal a reality.

At Denver Health we rely on vendors and suppliers to help us fulfill our mission to deliver consistent, exceptional care to all. To provide this level of service our staff depends on the best products and services that you, our partners, provide.

Our partnership with you, therefore, is an essential component of our strategy to improve the well-being of all of our patients. Were dedicated to doing everything we can to encourage and nurture beneficial, long-term, and mutually satisfying relationships with vendors and suppliers, and were eager to contract with companies that share our culture while offering competitive pricing for the highest quality products and services.

As our work depends on you, we want to make it as easy and as rewarding as possible for you to work with us. We welcome your business and have developed vendor program policies that we hope will make it easier for you to do business with us. Designed with patient safety in mind, these policies also aim to help ease compliance with increasingly complex regulatory issues and encourage a positive and mutually rewarding partnership. Please read ouropen letter to suppliers and vendors about upholding our Code of Conduct.

Sales representative registration is required of all salespeople who physically conduct business on any Denver Health campus or clinic. Registration provides Supply Chain Management with information about department(s) with which you'll be conducting business and the type of work you do while on our properties. If you do not anticipate ever having a physical presence at Denver Health, registration is not required.

Registration is completed through RepTrax, a third-party vendor management system. To allow time for credential processing, representatives should create and update their RepTrax account at least five business days before coming on campus. Vendors can visit the RepTrax (Sec3ure) website athttps://intellicentrics.com to create an account with RepTrax before they plan to visit Denver Health. RepTrax may ask for additional credentials depending on whether you need to access patient care areas or will restrict your visits to administrative offices, such as the Purchasing Department. Restricted access is available to you free of charge. There is an annual fee for Premium membership if you require access to patient care areas. If you need a Premium membership you will also have to acknowledge a series of Denver Health policies and procedures before your first visit to our campus. These policies will change depending on the areas you plan to visit. Representatives who already have a RepTrax account should add Denver Health to their list of hospitals and complete the requirements. If you have issues with the credentials being requested, please contact us at (303)602-7100.

The hospital has three conveniently located RepTrax kiosks, two at the Main Information Desk in Pavilion A and one in the Purchasing Department at 777 Delaware Street. You may access any of the kiosks to register your visit and to print your badge. The Main Information Desk kiosk is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please remember to log out of RepTrax when you leave the building! RepTrax also provide a mobile app available from your app store, search for SEC3URE. You can also use text messaging to check out of our facility.

Without a badge, your visit will be restricted to the Purchasing Department. If youre found in the hospital without a valid badge, you will be in violation of the Denver Health Supplier / Vendor Guidelines policy and you will be asked to report to the Purchasing Department or leave the premises. Repeated violation of the policy could result in temporary or permanent suspension of privileges.

Denver Health has adopted strict policies on the introduction of new non-pharmaceutical supplies to the agency. We use a series of departmental New Product Committees to analyze new products before we make the decision to use them. It is in the interest of the sales representative to involve the Purchasing department as early as possible. Please do not try to circumvent Purchasing and go directly to a physician or department to influence the adoption of new supplies. This will only lead to delays and will almost certainly lead to negative comments on your RepTrax score card.

  • Vendors are not permitted to distribute, post, or leave any type of printed or handwritten material, advertisements, signs, or other such promotional materials anywhere on the premises. Unsolicited materials may not be provided to clinicians; any promotional or informational material provided by a vendor must be explicitly requested by faculty or staff.
  • Distribution of vendor patient educational material that may be useful to our patients should be left at the appropriate department. Vendors are strictly prohibited from providing educational material of any type directly to patients or from leaving them in areas accessible to patients.
  • Only pricing/cost information which has been approved by Supply Chain may be discussed with clinicians. Absolutely no contracts may be presented to clinical staff; all contracts must be routed through Supply Chain

My son had an appointment today at pediatrics. We arrived 10 minutes early, approached the pediatrics front desk upstairs and were told to sign in on a sheet. We signed in on a peel off label, there were no other patients signed in before us, and grabbed a seat. 13 minutes later we were called to the front desk to "officially" check in. This was after 3 patients that came in after us were checked in first. They were checked in right away while we were told to sign in and made to wait. There were 4 receptionists at the front desk. When I asked the receptionist why was I just being checked in after having been there for 13 minutes, she did not give me a straight answer and instead told me I was just now checking in, I had only signed in before. Again let me repeat that 3 patients that came in AFTER us were helped to check in immediately and were not asked to sign in on a sheet. We were all there for pediatrics, yet my son and I were dismissed while others were given priority. It's ironic that as soon as you step outside the health clinic you are surrounded by murals depicting and celebrating minorites, yet when you step in the clinic you will be the last to be (reluctantly) helped because people of lighter skin take priority.

DO NOT GO HERE! Unprofessional, told me I had no cavities when I have multiple, dirty unkempt office, and they sent me a bill less than a week before it was due for services covered by the insurance I provided them at the time of service (insurance was not billed correctly due to a mistake on their end). I truly believe this office takes advantage of it's lower income patient base by trying to bill them for things that should have went through insurance. I've heard of this happenning many times with this network of health professionals, and unless you want to deal with thier rude billing customer service representatives, I would steer clear of this place.

Don't ever get dental work done by so called Dr. Safari. I went in Tuesday for some work. Never had any pains or issues with the tooth he worked on now. It Hurst for everything. I felt the whole process. I told him I felt it he laughed and said it's okay I'm almost done. Just cause he went to school and has a degree does not mean he knows what he's doing I literally was in and out in 20 mins. And now my tooth is actually messed up. Worst place ever

Best dental visit since I remember first going to the dentist. Dr. Patricio E Gonzalez-Marin extracted my tooth in just a few minutes. He is a very strong yet tender provider. The extraction was so perfected I had little to no pain afterward.
