Denver Health and Hospital Authority (the Authority) was created by the Colorado legislature as a body corporate and political subdivision of the State of Colorado pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes 25-29-101, et seq. (the Act). The Authority began operations on January 1, 1997 after having separated from the City and County of Denver (the City). On January 1, 1997, the City transferred substantially all of the healthcare programs, services and facilities of the Citys former Department of Health and Hospitals to the Authority. The Authority is governed by an eleven-member Board of Directors that is responsible for the operation of the Authoritys health system, including the Denver Health Medical Center.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Denver Health! There are many options for community members to contribute their time and talent through our Volunteer Services programs to provide support to our patients, staff and community.

The Denver Health volunteer program began in 1935 to help Denver Health to fulfill its threefold goal of patient care, education and research. The role of the volunteer is to supplement the professional staff, thereby freeing time to provide the best medical, nursing and support services to patients. Volunteers add the extra dimensions of empathy, sensitivity, warmth, and friendliness to ease and brighten a patients hospital stay or clinic visit. Denver Health has about 200-350 active volunteers throughout the year.

  • Book Cart: Volunteers visit each patient room in our medical surgery floors and offer a variety of books, magazines and puzzles. They also help in acquiring basic needs such as toiletries, reading glasses and phone chargers.
  • Pediatric Volunteers: Help our Child Life specialists in the DECC, Pediatric Unit, and Neonatal with our littlest patients! You will be hosting activities, help with events and care for our pediatric patients.
  • Pet Therapy: Volunteers and their certified (through Alliance of Therapy Dogs or Pet Partners) pet therapy dogs spread joy and comfort to patients, visitors and staff with visits throughout the hospital
  • Are you interested in helping but not able to make the commitment required to become a consistent hospital volunteer? Donations are a great way to help! Donations areaccepted in the volunteer office, located in the Volunteer and Patient Services Zone on the first floor of Pavilion C, Monday-Friday, 8 am - 4 pm. Outside of these hours, donations can be made at the main information desk in Pavilion A, the hospitals main entrance.

Denver Health Foundation'sNewborns in Needprogram comes to the rescue for expecting families who are struggling to make ends meet. Thanks to generous donors and volunteers, we collect thousands of new baby items to fill our Warm Welcome bags that are given to new moms and dads who really need and appreciate this extra help.

With our Reach Out and Read program, gently used books are placed in waiting areas at clinics to create literacy-rich environments, given to siblings during Well Child Visits, and offered to patients during sick visits. It is our goal that every time a child enters our clinics that they leave with a book in their hands. Help us make this goal a reality.

At Denver Health we rely on vendors and suppliers to help us fulfill our mission to deliver consistent, exceptional care to all. To provide this level of service our staff depends on the best products and services that you, our partners, provide.

Our partnership with you, therefore, is an essential component of our strategy to improve the well-being of all of our patients. Were dedicated to doing everything we can to encourage and nurture beneficial, long-term, and mutually satisfying relationships with vendors and suppliers, and were eager to contract with companies that share our culture while offering competitive pricing for the highest quality products and services.

As our work depends on you, we want to make it as easy and as rewarding as possible for you to work with us. We welcome your business and have developed vendor program policies that we hope will make it easier for you to do business with us. Designed with patient safety in mind, these policies also aim to help ease compliance with increasingly complex regulatory issues and encourage a positive and mutually rewarding partnership. Please read ouropen letter to suppliers and vendors about upholding our Code of Conduct.

Sales representative registration is required of all salespeople who physically conduct business on any Denver Health campus or clinic. Registration provides Supply Chain Management with information about department(s) with which you'll be conducting business and the type of work you do while on our properties. If you do not anticipate ever having a physical presence at Denver Health, registration is not required.

Registration is completed through RepTrax, a third-party vendor management system. To allow time for credential processing, representatives should create and update their RepTrax account at least five business days before coming on campus. Vendors can visit the RepTrax (Sec3ure) website athttps://intellicentrics.com to create an account with RepTrax before they plan to visit Denver Health. RepTrax may ask for additional credentials depending on whether you need to access patient care areas or will restrict your visits to administrative offices, such as the Purchasing Department. Restricted access is available to you free of charge. There is an annual fee for Premium membership if you require access to patient care areas. If you need a Premium membership you will also have to acknowledge a series of Denver Health policies and procedures before your first visit to our campus. These policies will change depending on the areas you plan to visit. Representatives who already have a RepTrax account should add Denver Health to their list of hospitals and complete the requirements. If you have issues with the credentials being requested, please contact us at (303)602-7100.

The hospital has three conveniently located RepTrax kiosks, two at the Main Information Desk in Pavilion A and one in the Purchasing Department at 777 Delaware Street. You may access any of the kiosks to register your visit and to print your badge. The Main Information Desk kiosk is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please remember to log out of RepTrax when you leave the building! RepTrax also provide a mobile app available from your app store, search for SEC3URE. You can also use text messaging to check out of our facility.

Without a badge, your visit will be restricted to the Purchasing Department. If youre found in the hospital without a valid badge, you will be in violation of the Denver Health Supplier / Vendor Guidelines policy and you will be asked to report to the Purchasing Department or leave the premises. Repeated violation of the policy could result in temporary or permanent suspension of privileges.

Denver Health has adopted strict policies on the introduction of new non-pharmaceutical supplies to the agency. We use a series of departmental New Product Committees to analyze new products before we make the decision to use them. It is in the interest of the sales representative to involve the Purchasing department as early as possible. Please do not try to circumvent Purchasing and go directly to a physician or department to influence the adoption of new supplies. This will only lead to delays and will almost certainly lead to negative comments on your RepTrax score card.

  • Vendors are not permitted to distribute, post, or leave any type of printed or handwritten material, advertisements, signs, or other such promotional materials anywhere on the premises. Unsolicited materials may not be provided to clinicians; any promotional or informational material provided by a vendor must be explicitly requested by faculty or staff.
  • Distribution of vendor patient educational material that may be useful to our patients should be left at the appropriate department. Vendors are strictly prohibited from providing educational material of any type directly to patients or from leaving them in areas accessible to patients.
  • Only pricing/cost information which has been approved by Supply Chain may be discussed with clinicians. Absolutely no contracts may be presented to clinical staff; all contracts must be routed through Supply Chain

They will schedule your "urgent" appointment a week out. Call and reschedule because they're "short staffed". Then when it is finally time for you to go you have to stand in line because there is a row of 10 employees clearly not knowing what they are doing. Once they make you late for your appointment then it's time for you to wait even longer until they come to you and tell you there isn't enough time to do a filling, which is weird because there is still 30 min left till they close... so they go to reschedule you again and they are probably going to ask for your name because they obviously don't care and didn't bother to look. Now your rescheduled for the same time tomorrow. Where you have to pay for your entire visit even though you paid for the exam yesterday and promised the rest would be billed. So now you have to pay up front, all wrapping back around to the front desk workers having no regards for patients or any time management skills. It's truly sad that not all the workers had the same work ethic as Dr. Ford and assistant who actually did the work. They were both super friendly and deserve credit for their awesome work.

8 months to schedule a cleaning appointment?! ... which is recommended (and covered by insurance) every 6 months... unable transfer me to a new clinic location as an established patient; that requires a new patient exam (not covered by insurance) before even scheduling a cleaning. Other reviews mention wait times - it's true. They tell you to be 20 minutes early, then make you wait 30+ minutes after your scheduled appointment. That's 50 minutes minimum in the waiting room... never waited less than that. The actual dental STAFF is incredible, they earned both stars for the review - knowledgeable yet relatable, friendly, and supportive. I panicked when I had a molar removed, and they handled my anxiety very well... even when there was an inpromptu wisdom tooth extraction involved. Smooth procedure and quick heal.

Great bedside manner so far in consults. They really take time to solve the problem instead of just pushing you through.

Front desk staff are beyond rude and loud as several others have also posted and this is also the most disorganized office I've ever been to. In 3 appointments there was never a time they were less than an hour behind. Appointment at 830? They require you be there at 810, and then don't take you back until 940. Complete waste of time and money, complete lack of empathy, completely oblivious to just how bad they are in EVERY SINGLE way. Run. Run away fast.

I can not say enough good things about our entire experience with the dental clinic. I was blown away with the warmth, kindness and compassion shown by Dr. Berman and the ENTIRE staff here to our special needs teenage son. I had been dreading him getting his wisdom teeth out for over a year and feel beyond blessed that we ended up at this clinic. Our family is so appreciative to all of you for making a scary experience go as smoothly as possible. Outstanding people!

Made a dental appointment to be seen because I had some teeth bothering me. Made it to my appointment.. went through the health screening at the front doors & signed in on the clipboard at 10:55. (My appointment was at 11) ALL of the front desk staff just stood around gossiping instead of checking people in. They literally would watch you walk in & wait in line just to tell you to sign in & they will call us up. Took them almost 10 mins to check me. I sat there for over an hour & didn't get seen. When I wasn't able to wait any longer I went to the front desk to reschedule & the same lady who checked me had to reschedule my appointment.. She was rude because I could hardly hear her (I have a hearing disability) & she kept having to repeat herself. When she had to reschedule me with an attitude she told her training manager " Well I just checked her in how do I reschedule her?" As I was waiting a lady with an appointment at 10:30 was 30 mins late. She explained she had some tooth pain & was rescheduled immediately to be seen. They also allowed her to be in the hallway & door way with her mask off while she was wondering around talking on the phone. They called another women to schedule an appointment and they had her whole conversation on speaker phone including important information. I Literally walked into a room full of people just to be the last one in the waiting room. Others checking in after me was able to go back before me & they had later appointments. Disappointed because my husband went to the same clinic a few months ago & he had a great experience.

    1. The wait staff of Dr. Brian Chai was extremely inefficient. The team itself was always at least 45 minutes behind on appointments. 2. Every time I went, I dealt with another physician, which meant each one of them running their own tests on me, including taking my jaw and stretching it open past the point it could. 3. The surgery went well, however a year later and I am in more pain than I was before. I had severe TMJ, and had to have a disctopomy. It's been a year and the pain along with the migraines are back. 24,000 dollars and one year later and the results are several lacking. I give two stars because Dr. Chai, while his surgical procedures, staff, and office were severely lacking, he was kind and very communicative during the time of service. I hope this helps those that are dealing with TMJ.
