Dr. Nathen Ellis spent his formative years living at different Air Force bases across the country. When his dad returned to civilian life, his family settled in Wilkesboro, NC. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from NC State University with a degree in Biological Sciences and minor in Genetics. Dr. Ellis always had an interest in medicine, but his passion for dentistry developed while he volunteered for a local dental outreach program during his undergraduate studies. After taking 2 years off from school to perform genetics research at Duke University, Dr. Ellis attended UNC-Chapel Hills School of Dentistry. Upon graduation in 2012, Dr. Ellis decided to relocate to Lincoln County to be closer to his family in Wilkesboro.After practicing in Lincolnton for 4 years as an associate, Dr. Ellis decided it was time to have a practice of his own. He chose Denver, NC for his practice location after moving to the community in 2014.
In the last 8 years, Dr. Ellis has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education; including a 9 month American Academy of Implant Dentistry continuum course at Augusta University on dental implants. Hes an alumnus of the world renown Pankey Institute where he learned comprehensive approaches to TMD therapies, and is a member of a Spear Education study club that meets monthly.
When not in the office, Dr. Ellis enjoys spending time with his girls,going to the gym, drag racing his Chevy Camaro, playing Fortnite, binge-watching Netflix, and throwing a line in the water every now and then.
He is native of the central Michigan area who grew up in Mason and graduated from high school there,Dr. Gary R. Hubbardhas proudly served patients throughout the greater Lansing area for over 30 years.
Dr. Hubbardhas been active member of organized dentistry at the local, state and national level, actively participating in numerous organizations. Dr. Hubbard served for six years on theUniversity of Michigan School of DentistryAlumni Board of Governors and for ten years as the Legislative Chairperson for theCentral District Dental Society an organization he has been a member of for over 30 years. He was president of the organization in 1990 and has held numerous roles within the organization, including Treasurer, Secretary, President-Elect, Peer Review Committee Chairperson (2005-09) and Peer Review Committee member. Between 1986 and 1990, he also served as a delegate to the MDA House of Delegates.
In addition to a keen interest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Hubbard and his wife Karen enjoy numerous outdoor activities, including golf, kayaking, downhill and cross country skiing, fly-fishing, hunting and scuba diving. They have two grown sons: John, an electrical engineering graduate of Purdue, formerly a lead cyber-security analyst for Glaxo-Smith-Kline and who now teaches and authors courses with, the SANS institute in cyber defense. Matthew, their youngest, is a Georgetown graduate and currently is an Advisory managing consultant for Price Waterhouse Coopers in Washington D.C.
Dr. Hubbard has volunteered his time as a participant in theDonated Dental Servicesprogram with the Michigan Dental Association, and with the Give Back a Smile program for domestic violence victims with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is also a board member of the Sparrow Hospital Foundation Board, dedicated to the improvement of health care in the Lansing area through philanthropic giving.
Shannon was the first person to join the Denver Dental Arts team. She began her dental career in 2001. Shannon is our front desk guru. She has worn many hats since joining Denver Dental Arts that include scheduling master, receptionist, concierge, and quality assurance; now she hastaken on the dedicated role of Insurance Coordinator to do everything possible to get every lastbenefit provided under your insurance policy.
Tammy has been with Denver Dental Arts since opening day in 2016. She brings 20 plus years of customer service experience to our dental team. Tammy focuses on helping patients understand their recommended treatment and the logistics of that treatment in order to develop a plan to help them achieve the most optimal outcome for their oral health.
Prior to coming to work in Dentistry, Tammy and Scott were small business owners for 15 years. With her excellent communication skills and vibrant personality Tammy is a valuable asset to the Denver Dental Arts Family.
Sharon began her dental career in 1986. She started her dental career as dental assistant and then moved to front office after years of assisting. She brings a great asset to the front office knowing the ends and outs of dentistry.
Kariann began her career in dentistry in 2016 when Denver Dental Arts opened. While Dr. Ellis was in dental school, they envisioned working alongside one another, so Kariann went back to school to earn a second degree in Healthcare Management. Together, she and Dr. Ellis have become quite the duo. They set out to have a practice that not only delivered the highest quality of care, but is built on developing and fostering relationships with their patients.
When not in the office, you can find her entertaining their 3 children: Annalee, Amelia, and Adeline and wrangling their 3 dogs: Bonnie, Beau, and Boomer. She also enjoys following the stock market, camping, and riding her Peloton.
Katie began her Dental Assistant career in January 2007. Not only will you find her chairside assisting one of our doctors, but she ensures all of our clinical supplies are ordered and available for the taking. You may also find her at the front desk or lending a hand wherever she is needed.
When Katie is not with her Denver Dental Arts family, you can find her spending time with her husband, Thomas, and their two kids Abram and Madelyn. She loves being outside swinging on the back porch listening to music and grilling out with family and friends.
Cindy began her dental career in 2014. She is the ultimate team player and is always available at a moments notice to lend a helping hand around the office. She takes charge is Sterilization to make sure all the instruments are clean, equipment is running properly, and all the monthly maintenance is completed.
Cindy spends her time away from the office with her Husband, Dr. Lee Ferrell and their son Rodney. She enjoys cruising around town in their Corvette, and going shopping and watching her son play competitive soccer.
When Emily is not with her Denver Dental Arts family, she spends her spare time shopping at TJ Maxx, being outdoors, spending time with her husband, Cameron, and spoiling her two labs, Bullet and Kimber.
Alyssa has practiced Dental Hygiene since 1995. She strives to make sure her patients are informed and comfortable. One of the best parts of her job is building relationships with her patients through the years. Alyssa always treats her patients the way she would want her own family to be treated.
When Alyssa is not cleaning teeth at Denver Dental Arts you will most likely find her spoiling her two God Children Maryn and Jax. Alyssa loves to travel as well as relaxing at home with her two dogs Chloe and Lola.
Ashley has practiced dental hygiene since 2007. It is easy to see why the patients adore her as much as we do! Ashley has such a fun personality and is so kind and caring. Her attention to detail and enthusiasm to maintain high and current standards are truly appreciated by her patients. Ashley does her absolute best in helping our patients improve their dental education and experience.
Lori has practiced dental hygiene since 2007. She strives to ensure our patients always feel 100% informed and comfortable during their dental visit. To her, theres nothing more gratifying than educating and helping patients overcome their dental fears.
Sheila has practiced dental hygiene since 2000. One of the best parts of her job is building relationships with her patients through the years and taking care of their dental hygiene needs. Her main goal is to treat her patients the way she would want her own family to be treated.
When Sheila is not attending to her patients, she tends to lend her spare time to her husband, Van, and her two girls, Olivia and Lauren, with not a moments rest in between school, sporting events and working at their custom cabinetry business.
On those occasional moments of free time, she loves serving at her church, traveling with her family, and visiting her daughter at App State. We believe her dogs, Dixie and Ruby, receive as much love as her girls. Her favorite past time is barrel racing while her daughters share her love for horses.
