Dr. Phil Meehan, originally from Rockford, IL, received his bachelors degree in Biological Sciences with Honors from the University of Missouri in 2009. Following his undergraduatestudies, he completed his Doctorate in Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) in 2013. During his time there, he was recognized as one of the top students involved in their more specialized Oral Surgery Honors program. Hereceived numerous awards for exemplary academic performance, one of which was the Omicron Kappa Upsilon fraternity, the national dental honor society.
Following dental school, Dr. Meehan completed a 4 year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Cook County Hospital and Rush University Medical Center. During residency, Dr.Meehan was appointed chief resident and cared for a diverse population of patients requiring a wide range of treatment. He gained extensive experience with complex facial trauma, plastic and reconstructive surgery, skeletal/facial deformities, severe odontogenicinfections, oral/maxillofacial pathology including head and neck cancer, and facial reconstruction. In addition, he gained extensive knowledge in both general and outpatient anesthesia, dental implants, dento-alveolar surgery including wisdom teeth, bonegrafting, and orthognathic surgery. Dr. Meehan has worked with Dr. Laverdiere Beck for the past 4 years at John Stroger Hospital and now plans on practicing the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the North Shore and Downtown areas. He has hospitalprivileges at the NorthShore University HealthSystem Hospitals (Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital, Skokie Hospital and Highland Park Hospital). He is also an adjunct faculty member at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Meehan is certifiedin Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, and BLS.
Dr. Meehan lives in downtown Chicago. He enjoys activities in the city, including sporting events, concerts, and anything involving Lake Michigan. He is an avid endurance athlete,competes in triathlons, and recently completed his 5th Chicago marathon. He also enjoys traveling, photography, and the Chicago Cubs.
He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he studied Economics as well as a predental curriculum. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Daitch attended Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago where he received his D.D.S. degree (doctor of dental surgery). In addition to taking hundreds of hours of dental continuing education courses in order to further his knowledge and skills, Dr. Daitch has taken the accreditation course for Invisalign, the Academy of Laser Dentistry and for Cerec (single visit restorations).
He has broad experience in complex dental case diagnosis, treatment planning and restoration that include but is not limited to: metal free cosmetic restorations, implants, precision attachments, veneers, soft tissue lasers, sleep apnea appliances as well as cosmetic fillings and crowns.
He enjoys and has extensive experience in working with specialist colleagues in the development and execution of the best care for his patients. Dr. Daitch is a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society
In addition to dentistry Dr. Daitch is interested in business and has attended the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business where he received an MBA. He is married, has three sons and enjoys international travel and both Nordic and downhill skiing.
Dr. Alec Joy grew up in Northwest Indiana. He attended Purdue University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Sports Science, and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine - Illinois. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and International College of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Joy is committed to life-long learning that will bring advanced and effective dental treatments to his patients. He takes pride in providing his patients with comprehensive care to address their needs whether simple or complex. Upon graduation, Dr Joy has taken multiple continuing education courses covering implants, implant supported dentures, cosmetic restorations, Invisalign, guided bone regeneration, and much more.
