An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.
Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

I will not be coming back here! Last Friday, I had a post op appointment at 3:00. When I had the post op appointment I was treated like I just showed up randomly. The dental hygenist was very nice and asked me how my mouth was feeling after I had two teeth pulled out. I told her that I was concerned because my jaw was hurting & my mouth was very sore-it was a week after I had the two teeth pulled out. She was very understanding and concerned and said that she was going to talk to the dentist and see what he recommended. She left the room and went to speak with the dentist. I heard him say "I do not have time for this I am busy. She is fine I looked in her mouth and she is fine. It's healing". I find it very unprofessional that he said he was busy. I had an appointment at that designated time & was in pain. I felt so embarrassed and felt like I was bothering him by being there. He then came in the room & told me that I needed to give it time to heal & prescribed me more medication. I understand that he may have been in the middle of something- we all can be busy and stressed at times, but I had an appointment and did not like the fact that he said loudly for everyone to hear that he was busy and did not have time to check my mouth. I'm pretty sure if I told the front desk "I'm busy, I don't have time to pay my bill"they wouldn't like it.

This past week, I had Dr. Liens perform a veneer job on my front teeth. I am super happy with the outcome and highly recomend him and his dental staff at Dentist of West Columbia!

I am glad they were the closest, as I'm out of my home state. From the front door, very professional and clean, to the chair! Everyone was great and made me feel very comfortable. I definitely recommend them. 100%!

First time visit was VERY GOOD!!! This is a dentist location with friendly and professional staff. Very clean and reasonable pricing. The dentist, Dr Liens and his medical staff thoroughly explained the procedure(s) to me. The office staff clearly explained the billing and payout cost. Definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for good caring and professional care.

I needed an infected broken molar extracted and Dr Liens and his team took great care of me in a timely fashion! I have serious anxiety with dental work and needles and Dr Liens and his assistant did everything in their power to make me comfortable, as well as being very patient and understanding with me. They talked me through every step of the procedure so I knew what to expect both physically and financially. I can honestly say I can't wait to go back for my exam and I've found my regular routine dentist! In addition, I really appreciated the cleanliness of the office as well as the staff upholding current CDC standard guidelines for disinfecting areas between patients during this seemingly never ending pandemic. So if you need a dentist for routine exams or an emergency procedure, check them out!

Listen when I say I had a GREAT EXPERIENCE on today, I had a great experience. This was my first time visiting this office for dental work and Dr. Liens along with his ENTIRE staff was amazing from the time I walked through the door until the time I walked out. If you are looking for a dentist who is very thorough in explaining the procedure to you, friendly, clean clean clean AND REASONABLE in price, Dentist of West Columbia/Dr Jose Liens is who you should choose. I have always had a fear of dentists as I had alot of work done previously. Had a bridge that broke and went for a consultation. Was told by another dentist that dentures would be my only option if the bridge fell out again and Dr. Liens agreed. He was amazing during the extractions. I didn't take more than ibuprofen while healing. They were happy to make any adjustments on the temporary denture when needed - usually the same day I would call. Just received my permanent denture and I am so happy with it. The front desk staff and dental assistants are always welcoming and friendly.

I wish I didn't have to leave this review because the staff was very nice. HOWEVER, if you go to this office please be sure you've got half a day to kill. I was brought to the back very quickly upon arrival. But I sat in the room waiting to have my teeth cleaned for 40 minutes. Yes. 40 minutes. And this is after an extensive mouth scanning process AND being examined by the dentist. I'm pretty sure they forgot about me because an employee walked past the room I was in and without saying anything to me, hurriedly went to get someone to clean my teeth. I could hear the nervous whispers in the hallway. Then when the person finally came into the room to clean my teeth, she had no idea why she was in there and what we were doing. I don't blame her for that. I just don't think that anything was communicated to her about me. Again, I'm pretty sure they forgot about me and scrambled to find someone at the last second. Extremely unprofessional. I couldn't even have my teeth cleaned because I had to leave. This is no way to conduct business. I absolutely will not return.

Was able to get in quickly when my filing came out. Got caught up on my dental care and was able to make an appt for root canal quickly. Staff is wonderful! Really took care of me while I was there.

Fantastic service from all staff including front desk, technicians, and especially Dr. Liens. This was the 5th or 6th dentist I called until Dentists of West Columbia were able to be fit me in within 24 hours before traveling abroad, I was accommodated with 2 appointments in less than 48 hours. Dr. Liens is obviously exceptionally competent, but also observant and considerate. He does not rush his patient interactions and he does not hesitate to answer any questions! The office also has an extremely clean and well laid out design. I had to pay out of pocket (was not absurd by any means), but once I get my dental insurance squared away I will for sure be clarifying that I can return to this dentistry under my coverage.
