An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.
Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

I Have had numerous awful experiences at previous dentists and hadn't been to a dentist in over two years. Dr. Tingey and the rest of the staff treated me with respect, and we're gentle. They truly seemed to care about me as a person, instead of just a number. I will definitely be staying with this dentist!

Brenden Tingey is a really good dentist. I came since it had been a while since I went in for my checkup. Totally new patient and I had a lot of cavities. Within 7 weeks of several appointments he was able to fix everything and the pain I had before was completely gone. He's also really nice to talk with and he explains his process so you understand what he's doing. Also shout-out to Emily who was really accommodating. If youre looking for a new dentist I highly recommend him.

After reading through multiple reviews stating the same, I must say it is ridiculous that they push the "deep cleaning" and laser treatments for gum disease here. I have had excellent oral hygiene my whole life, but was told that I needed a deep cleaning which was not covered by insurance and would cost me $1000 out of pocket. The dentist was adamant that I would have further bone loss if not paying for the treatment. My gums are very healthy and don't even bleed or hurt when flossing. Convinced this is just a way to get you to pay more through scare tactics.

My first time seeing Dr McAffee he was great to explain everything to me as he went. I needed a filling which was quick and painless. His skills with numbing and correcting the cavity was the best I've ever experienced followed by a cleaning. My children meet with Dr Tingey and they liked him very much. With kids it was an easy visit. Front desk staff was very quick at check in, friendly as can be and made us feel welcome. Over all amazing experience

My dentist is Dr Ryan McAfee. He and his staff a great. They are caring and thorough but gentle. They work with your insurance and make sure you completely understand the procedures and costs so there are no surprises. The hygienists are great too. I'm very happy with the care my family receives here. Dr McAfee even called to check on me the day after I had a procedure done. I feel like they really care about me and aren't just out to get payment.

This is my dentist Ryan Macafee, he's the best and nicest dentist I've ever known he gave me my smile back plus he always calls and checks on me to see how I'm feeling after each procedure I got the teeth I've always dreamed of I have a beautiful upper denture, then I got a snap in denture on the the bottom which required implants, which Dustin Hopkin placed for me, he also did an amazing job everyone complements my teeth and my husband said my teeth are beautiful, and that it was worth the wait, I highly recommend the Dentist Of South Jordan, their entire staff are the best

Usually, when you go to the dentist for a basic cleaning, you're not really going to the dentist. You're going to the dental assistant. At other locations over the years, I've seen the dentist for maybe two minutes tops. Here, Dr. Tingey valued the importance of the patient experience. He was the one to take me back to the room, and we talked for a bit until the person running the x-rays was ready for me, and he took the time to offer me water and got it himself. I have a tiny mouth, so dental x-rays are never fun, but the technician put in a good effort of being gentle and doing it as fast as possible while still being thorough. Back in the room while I was waiting for Dr. Tingey to finish reviewing the x-rays, someone took the time to offer me a blanket since the office was freezing. (You could just turn the AC down if you know it's freezing, but this is summer in Utah. There's an unwritten rule that public buildings must be refrigerators during the summer.) During the exam, the office recognized that the lights they shine in your face are bright, so they provided a pair of shades to make it less unpleasant. Interestingly enough, Dr. Tingey did most of the cleaning himself, minus the hygienist doing the polish at the end. I've never seen that happen anywhere else. I felt valued as a patient with the dentist putting so much of his time into the appointment. My only complaints are bits of the exam. I like how he wanted to take the time to review the x-rays with me after his initial review, and he was thorough in explaining things. I wish he had started with telling me there were no problems instead of drawing it out until he'd finished his explanation. I don't like suspense. Tell me the good news. Then, give me the details. The gum exam was very painful. I don't normally get gum pain--Dr. Tingey can confirm that my mouth is in good condition--but hours later, my mouth still hurts from him cramming that tool between my gums and teeth, and my gums are swelling up. Going to the dentist, finding out there are no problems, and leaving in pain is a new experience for me. I've never seen that particular test done at other dental offices, and next time, I think I'll say no to that one, especially since it felt redundant. The only information it provided had already been established by the x-rays.

Ryan McAfee and his team were great. They were super thorough in explaining everything to me, friendly and well done with their cleaning and filling. They do a good job at making sure you know your pricing before they do any work, including making sure you have a breakdown of everything you're paying for.
