Anna Smith grew up in rural, east Texas. Her father was a preacher and her mom was a book keeper. She was always very active in her church and organizations like Girl Scouts and 4H. Her parents encouraged her to study and make good grades. Anna always enjoyed school and excelled in every subject, except spelling. Anna especially loved science and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. However, that all changed when she observed a veterinarian over spring break in high school. She didnt have the heart to watch animals being put to sleep and began seeking a profession to better suit her personality. She decided that dentistry would be a good match. The more she learned about dentistry the more she became attracted to the field.
Anna completed high school in three years and then moved to Illinois. Her good grades paid off and she received many scholarships to help fund her undergraduate and graduate degrees. To keep debt to a minimum she worked her way through school by having part-time jobs as a photographer, cake decorator, mail carrier, house keeper and grocery store clerk. She attended Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville from 1997-2000 and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. She majored in Medical Science and minored in Psychology. In 2004 she graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, Illinois with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
Immediately after graduation Dr. Smith began her dental career at Dentistry With TLC. Its very unusual for a dentist to work in only one office for her entire career as Dr. Smith has done. She purchased Dentistry With TLC in 2007.
Dr. Smith loves dentistry and is constantly learning new things. She was awarded Top Doctor in 2011-2012 of all the Fastbraces dentists worldwide and has trained dentists at Fastbraces University in Dallas, Texas. She provides more SomnoMed sleep appliances than any dentist in North America. She is one of only four dentists worldwide to achieve Sapphire Partner status for her dedication to helping patients eliminate their CPAP.
Anna enjoys cooking, especially baking. She also likes scrapbooking and redecorating. Since 2016, most of Dr. Smiths free time is spent taking care of and loving her daughter, Liberty. Liberty is a smart and talented blonde-headed, blue-eyed little girl who is on pace to be 6 feet tall, just like her mom.

I would NOT GIVE ANY STARS IF I DIDN'T HAVE TO.. Do Not Walk in this office! I went in for slight pain in my tooth and ended up with CELLULITIS OF MY FACE. So far the cost between TLC charges and E.R visit is $7000.00. I requested a call back from the dentist and possible refund and I never got a call back! They also told me the dentist who did my surgery was no longer there one week after seeing me and sending me home with cellulitis. PLEASE Read all the reviews and BBB. I am starting all over again with the same issue, now a specialist! Just came back from a new dentist.

If I could give her zero stars I would. I was getting my wisdom teeth removed when I told her over 20 times I still felt it she said there was nothing more she could do and continued to rip them out of my jaw. She has zero bedside manor and has made me afraid of the dentist ever since

My name is Lois Fox, not Aaron. I am pleased to rate Dentistry with TLC because I want everyone to know if you have a real problem, such as an abscessed tooth, they will get you in right away. I'm impressed with their knowledge and equipment. If you need a crown, they make porcelain crowns on site so you can have a new one in your mouth the same day. They were incredible!

Excellent customer service and great dentistry!! I've had multiple procedures done at this office and every single time has been top notch. I recently picked up my sleep appliance and I love it!! I have slept significantly better for the last 13 nights and am more well rested all through the day. Regardless of what the haters might say in their reviews of this business I won't go anywhere else for my dentistry needs.

Have been going to this practice for many years....they are remarkable. Dr. Smith is not only a spectacular dentist, but I consider a friend. The staff have become like family to me. All the procedures I have had have been done with great care and exceptional work. If you need a a dentist with great skill and a kind and compassionate person, then TLC is the place to go!!

The scare tactic to not post is a good showing of how this dentist conducts business. This is a business ONLY not patient first office. Back staff are friendly, but front staff can be very unpleasant! $$$$ is the only motivation for this business! Patients aren't told enough. I had $10,000 worth of crowns & 5-6 mo later they had all fallen out! WHAT A RIP OFF! Do Not waste you time. I am a very senior, angry x-customer.

Dr. Anna Smith has been the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. My daughter was supposed to be get her braces off August 2 and then we would be going back the nest day to pick up her retainer. I signed the release and filled out all the paperwork other than a survey. I was told that she would not take off her braces unless it was filled out. I told them that they didn't want me to fill it out because I would have to be honest and they would not like what I had to say. Was told I had to. I wrote that Dr. Smith was very rude and unprofessional. Mind you, the problem stems from the issues that My son now has as a result of going there. His jaw is messed up and had to put him back in braces with another orthodontist In January. My daughter was already more than halfway through the process and had her braces paid for when we found out what caused his problem. So we felt stuck to keep my daughter there and finish the process. I of course, wanted to talk to Dr. Smith about our concerns and how to prevent an issue with my daughter. Dr. Smith was very rude and quite manipulative. She wants to twist anything that I said. Didn't want to address concerns. August 2 she refused to take off my daughter's braces after I was told they were ready to come off because she then wanted to take my complaint "serious" even though it has nothing to do with my daughter. Months before when I tried to speak with her she didn't want to address it. After I posted a negative review on her Facebook and with the BBB she did take her braces off on August 24, 2021. Today October 7, 2021 I took my daughter to an local orthodontist as I felt she probably needed reevaluated. He was shocked when he found out that she just got her braces off a month ago. Now he will be putting my daughter back in braces for a year. So not only have we now had to put my son in braces again after going to Anne Smith but now we have to put my daughter in braces again. Looking back there were so many red flags. I am angry with myself for not listening to my gut. I don't know how she can sleep at night. This place needs shut down and she needs to be held accountable for the things that she is doing to her clients. Not only have I now discovered that there is a Facebook support group set up by former clients but she has her license on probation since August 2020. Placed on probation for 5 years. She obviously does not care and is not going to change or trying to change her behavior or practice. This place needs shut down!

Everyone there was so nice. The girl that went over the cost was so sweet. The tech I had Kim made me feel comfortable and answer all my questions. Dr Smith is so good I won't go anywhere else. She the best.

Wow, that was a horrible experience. Dentistry with Too Little Concern. Dr. doesn't even care to properly introduce herself. It took two1/2 hours to get a cleaning and X-ray and to be told I needed $20,000 plus work.

Dentist is performing procedures she's barely qualified for, sometimes has a bad attitude, and will try to sell you nail polish while she's looking at your teeth. Seriously. Surprise bills are a guaranteed, and they're often in error. I was still fighting with them for over a year after I quit this place, and they eventually "discovered" their error. Please, for the sake of your teeth and your wallet, avoid at all costs.

I called to have a tooth extracted because it broke off. Kim was excellent but when i got there appointment time of 1:30, they immediately wanted to do a full mouth of xrays and clean my teeth. They then told me i could come back to have my tooth removed. I said no because it was bothering me and that was the reason i made the appointment. I was then told they were going to work me in around other patients even though i had an appointment specifically to have my tooth extracted. I was not happy about this visit and doubt i will go back. I waited two hours. Very unreasonable amount of time.

I got vibes of them only wanting your money, so I immediately left now looking for a dentist I can trust who fixes the issue this doctor failed to. Looking at the reviews, glad I left when I did.

Used to be a good place long time ago. But now with new owner she is terrible and rude. Don't be fooled by the reviews that are good. Those are people she knows. The staff is great tho. She takes advantage of people in pain. Lot of her customers go to the other dentist right across the street he will tell u the same. I can say a lot more bout the owner. But shouldn't have to trust me on this

Quit going there when I was left in an examination room for over an hour and a half. One worker then came in and told me I could leave. They had not yet cleaned my teeth when I was told I could leave. The four members of my family no longer go there. A crown that was put on there fell off after 18 months. The so called post was plastic. It could not be put back on so now I am getting an implant.

They were all very friendly and polite. I've had bad experiences at Dentist offices my anxiety was up but it was good Dr. Smith done an awesome job and didn't feel no pain id give this place 5 stars again. Awesome work! Made me feel really comfortable.
