After years practicing, mentoring, growing and shaping Dentistry of the Carolinas, our founder Dr. John Walsh has transitioned to a new phase of life where he is enjoying time with family and is favorite hobbies. We dont call it retirement because for all who know Dr. Walsh understand that word is not in his vocabulary. Tooth fairies collect teeth from underneath pillows each night and bring them back to Tooth Fairy Land. They plant these little teeth in a Tooth Garden to sprout new baby teeth. One tooth grew a bit too big to be a baby tooth, this was Flossy. The Fairies didnt know what to do with Flossy until they decided that he would be sent to the human world full time to teach kids how important it was to take care of their teeth.
Trees do not grow gumdrops Sour Patch Kids are not found on playgrounds Most importantly, you could NEVER get cavities in Tooth Fairy Land like you can in the human world if you dont take care of your teeth!
Flossy loves sweets and candy and cookies and especially Surfer Cooler flavored Capri-Suns. He used to surf the molasses ocean in Tooth Fairy Land, it moved very, very slowly which was perfect for him because hes kind of big and slow himself!

This place is the best and I highly recommended. The staffs were great, I enjoyed my cleaning with Carrie and had a filling done by Rains which went smoothly. I didn't even feel the shot and Rina ensured that I was comfortable during my treatment. Thank you to Dr. Rains, Rina, and Carrie.

Dr. Rains is the sweetest and most caring dentist you will ever come across! Rina is such a great assistant and Carrie is one of the best hygienists I've ever had! Ashley from up front is so awesome and knowledgeable! 10/10 for this staff!

Front desk staff is very nice. Dental assistant was very nice as well. I went for teeth removal. I cant remember the name of the dentist I had last week and this week for bottom wisdom teeth removal but he really made me feel like I was stupid like I didnt know the difference between pressure and pain. I felt the pressure at first and the more he kept digging i felt the pain. He seemed like he was getting aggravated with me like I was lying about what I was feeling. He numbed my mouth as much as he was able to but I still felt pain. He finally asked me if i wanted him to stop and me go to a oral surgen and be put to sleep to have them removed and I chose that option. I still recommend this place but if you need wisdom teeth removal you might want to just go to an oral surgen.

From the moment I walked into the office, everyone was very friendly. They are the only office that was willing to see me the same day . They are quick, friendly, and gentle. I highly recommend them.

I have always had issues going to the dentist, for two main reasons. I am diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and the dentist is one of the worst sensory experiences imaginable for me. I let the staff at DOC Kannapolis know this; that I have autism, may get overwhelmed, and may need to take breaks during procedures. They have all been extremely understanding and patient with me, and for that I can't be thankful enough. It truly means the world when someone takes the time to listen to your needs and make you more comfortable. This ties into another issue, though: my teeth always have problems. It's difficult staying on top of dental hygiene when my routine is broken, and that's been a problem the last few years. On top of that, even at times in my life where I've taken excellent care of my teeth, I always get cavities, and they are painfully sensitive. I have always dreaded annual visits because of the lecture I'm used to hearing about my teeth, even though I'm doing the best I can. But that's not what I experienced here: the doctor and hygienist were understanding of how non-dental reasons make oral hygiene difficult for me, but also that my teeth seem unusually brittle. This is something no one has ever told me: that there seems to be an inherent issue with my teeth that could be causing my frequent cavities despite my best efforts. I was given realistic advice and a prescription toothpaste that even in the span of a couple weeks has made a huge difference in my sensitivity. I go back next week to get as many fillings as we can muster in one visit, and although I'm scared as anyone may be, I actually don't dread it the way I used to dread even cleanings because I know that my needs will be accommodated for. This is hands-down the best dentistry I've ever been to and can't recommend it enough, especially for those who may have a less-than-ordinary backstory. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone here.

The best dentist office I have ever been to. Can't remember her name but she was very thorough and informative. She explained everything with great detail. The office ladies were amazing, they helped me price everything that I need done and broke it down perfectly. Usually scared but they were very calming. Couldn't ask for a better dentist office. I would highly recommend to anyone

Very clean office with adequate parking. Even though I was only there a short time, everything went smoothly and the girls at the front desk were very helpful and nice. Dentist I saw seemed very caring, looking forward to my next appt. : )

I had a tooth that needed to be removed. Had bad experiences in the past but Dr. Shamah and his assistant Rina were the best! He was so sweet and comforting. Removed it with no issues in just a few seconds! Super easy. Rina was so informative and sweet. Definitely plan to come back. 10/10 would recommend!

I have git to say, I left this Dentistry a few years ago, but I just came back. I have a dentist appt today and Kerri done my cleaning and she did a very good job. Also, since they have changed the leaders we may be in good hands. One of the ladies worked very hard with to get an appt. I missed in February, reschedule and that had to end, but she kept in touch with me to fill in one that was cancelled that is what I call Custer Service and taking care of the business customers. Good job ladies keep it up.
