For individuals who wish to replace missing teeth, dental implants may be an effective long-term solution. Dental implants provide greater structural support and last longer than either dental bridges or dentures. Dental implants serve as the artificial root to which new teeth are bonded. They are constructed of titanium, a strong and safe material that effectively attaches to bone. The procedure to insert dental implants typically involve three steps: the implant insertion stage, osseointegration (the period of healing for the jawbone), and the attachment of the restoration (or crown).

In implant dentistry, the most popular form of dental implant is the root implant. This type of dental implant is very effective and mirrors the size and shape of a patients natural tooth. Many times, this implant will be as strong structurally as the original tooths root. Once the dentist applies the local anesthetic, he makes a laser incision in the gum in order to gain access to the jawbone. Because a dental laser is used rather than a scalpel, this results in no post operative pain, no bleeding and no need for stitches. The bone is then prepared, and the dental implant is inserted into the jawbone with care and precision. Finally, the dentist prescribes an antibiotic to prevent infection during the healing process. During the osseointegration step, which lasts anywhere from four to eight months, the jawbone firmly attaches itself to the dental implant. Once osseointegration is complete, the patient returns to the dental office, where x-rays and impressions will be taken so the dental implant may be fitted with a new porcelain crown.

I had the worse experience with this dentist. I came to him with a bad tooth ache and was in alot of pain. I wanted him just to pull it but he told me it was unethical to pull the tooth. I was in so much pain I just wanted it to stop. He wouldn't prescribe me any pain medications. So it took him two days to do a root canal and a temporary cap. 3900 $ later. Never been in so much pain in my life. And for that price he should had finished the job. He yelled at his assistants alot and not comforting at all. So don't go to this dentist he overcharges and gave me the worse anxiety I have ever felt.

One star for the hygenist at the front. But, hands down Worst dentist I've ever been to. There was 1 hygienist who was professional and sweet the other was hostile, rude and appeared to not know what she was doing. She trash talked the dentist whom she works for and claimed she didn't even want to be at work. I only saw the dentist after being mouthed off to by the hygienist at the front. I have major anxiety about the dentist and he told me that I was combative and Rude. Not once did they look in my mouth. Just x-rays. No explanation of whats going on. Oh and the dentist talks and spits all over your face and mouth. Disgusting. Left here worse off. And im more pain as the x-rays have cut my gums. Isn't the point of the dentist to have them actually look at your teeth ?

All I can say is Dr. Rutley is amazing. I had my crown on one of my front teeth break off on Friday and I was so distraught and freaked out as you can imagine not having a front tooth. Dr. Rutley got me in two days later and I have a temporary crown in while my new one is being made. He knows what the hell he is doing and is the real deal. Once I change my insurance over he will definitely be my main dentist for sure! I definitely recommend him and his staff to fulfill anyone's dental needs! Also Candice the receptionist is the nicest most compassionate lady ever. She deserves a raise.

If your looking for a dentist that consistently does excellent work and gets things done correctly, then choose Dr Rutley and his awesome staff. I especially like that he does ALL procedures himself, no passing off to another specialist for root canals, etc. He's done two root canals with crowns for me and not even a root canal specialist can match his work

I wish I could give 0 stars to this place! I walked in into this place because my regular dentist was off on the 5th of July. When I walked in there was no staff to greet me and I had to wait for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes an assistant who hardly speaks any English and gets my information. I told her that I had surgery a few days ago for implant and now something is loose and that I just want the doctor to take a look. She doesn't explain any thing to me or get my consent for X-ray. She starts touching my face which was swollen and painful and takes X-ray after X-ray. I keep repeating that I want to see the doctor first to just take a look before you take all these X-rays. She just repeats "Finish" "Finish" because I guess that was the extent to which she could speak English. I finally lost it and said I'm leaving! This has NEVER happened to me in my entire life and I have seen tens of dentists all over the globe. The doctor then saw me in the hallway and says after-the-fact that he is required to take X-rays because he is responsible for my teeth when I am in his office. But did you get my consent before touching my painful face and taking X-rays? I agreed to sit down and the doctor looked at the photos for like 2 minutes and told me I need to see my regular dentist tomorrow! He didn't even try to put the fallen membrane back yet charged my 49 dollars. Stay FAR FAR AWAY for this unprofessional place.

Take this information as you will, but it is worth noting. My partner came in for a chipped tooth, waited 2 hours to get seen, only to be told to come back later in the day to get the chip filled. However this wasn't the worst of it. She was told that she had 10+ cavities, and was asked if she wanted them filled that day. My partner had an appointment with her home dentist 2 weeks ago, who said she had 0 cavities (30 years experience). After seeing Dr. Rutley, we went to another dentist who confirmed that her x-ray showed 0 cavities. This is an objective account- we understand that x-ray interpretation is somewhat subjective, but 3 opinions we received gave us enough evidence to take action on our suspicions.

This is the worst dentistry that i have ever been to in my entire life. If i could I'll give it a 0. Rutley is the worst dentist in history. I just wanted an emergency extraction, I'm in so much pain its becoming unbearable. All this guy knows is root canals nothing more. Very rude and had the nerve to tell me to go to Tijuana for an extraction, what a joke. Its a scam do not go here ever. A hole in a wall in Del mar to Prey on the wealthy, piece of sh!t

I had been waiting for a root canal from my primary dentist for over 2 months and each day the pain was more and more unbareable. After going to another dentist thinking I could been seen faster turned out I couldnt. So last night I was in so much pain my fiance looked up an emergency dental office and thats where we found Dr. Rutley. We called and was told to come in asap because I was in so much pain. when I got there I was takin to the back within 5 minutes. Finally my root canal was complete and I was educated so much on the process and the before and after. today I woke up feeling amazing like I never even had work done I expected to b in pain when the numbness wore off and for a swollen face but to my surprise I have neither. Definitely recommend Dr. Rutley to anyone needing dental work don.

My mouth is pretty screwed up from circumstances uncontrolled, I had a horrible experience with a previous dentist, and I'm petrified of going to them. I called for an emergency crown, and he got me in that day. I started to feel pain at the end of the service, probably from a huge acceso underneath the tooth, but he assured me I would feel much better in the morning and I do. Thanks!

Overall great experience. I called in extreme pain and was able to schedule an emergency appointment for the next day. Dr. Mark was informative and got the job done. Would recommend for emergency dental needs and preventative care.
