We set aside adequate time for comprehensive evaluations, quality treatments, and building rapport with both the children and their parents. We are a quality team full of experience and knowledge. Dr. Paul K. Seo, D.D.S., M.S. is a well trained specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and has years of experience. Team members Shirley and Gwen compliment each other well and are also very well trained, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. In fact, for a short period of time they started a private dental assisting program to help prospective employees interested in the dental field to obtain basic training for their first dental assisting and/or receptionist job.Our greatest asset is that we enjoy working with kids and treat them all lovingly as part of our family. We enjoy watching them grow and have taken pride as they developed into fine young adults.

A few have started their own families and are now bringing their children to our office. As our child patients grow, we sadly have to refer them to a general dentist for their oral health care needs. However, this allows us to continue to dedicate the same amount of time to each current patient. And while it is sad to see kids off at a certain age, we are still blessed to hear from or run into some of them at times or to welcome their children into our practice!

Dr. Paul has been well trained in his specialty at the University of California at Los Angles where he obtained his certification in Pediatric Dentistry. While at UCLA, he also received a Postdoctoral Certificate of Study in Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities, earned a Masters Degree in Oral Biology (separate from the pediatric program) and was the Chief Resident during his final year. During this time, Dr. Paul took special interest in behavior management techniques as he felt that this was the preferable method over sedation in treating the majority of apprehensive children. Dr Paul feels that his communication and behavior management skills allow him to treat many children conservatively where others may choose to use sedation and/or just postpone treatment.

Dr. Paul was born and raised in Hawaii where he graduated from Iolani School. He lived near Chicago, Illinois where he attended Northwestern University to obtain a Bachelors of Art degree in Integrated Science. He then lived in San Francisco, California to attend the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry to obtain his Doctor of Dental Science degree. His last place of residence on the mainland before returning to Hawaii wasin Los Angeles, California as he completed his professional training. Living in and traveling to many different areas of the country has allowed Dr. Paul to befriend many people of different cultures. This contributed to his understandings that while each person is unique, they can often find something in common with others. This belief has allowed Dr. Paul to communicate with his patients and parents to make them feel comfortable. Dr. Paul is thankful for the many patients, pediatricians and general dentists who are confident in his abilities and trust that he will treat their family and patients as well as his own. Dr. Paul is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Hawaii Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Hawaii Dental Association, and the California Dental Association.

You will not find a fast pace clinical type of setting in our office. We prefer a practice where you will get to know us and trust that all aspects of your childs oral health care are delivered in a comprehensive, coordinated, and family-centered way. Your child will be treated by the same doctor and be familiar with the other team members at every visit. Sufficient time is set aside for a comprehensive evaluation and quality treatment.Any treatments, if necessary, are scheduled in a timely fashion so that your childs oral health is restored as quickly as possible. We routinely see patients on time as everyones time is valuable. Although there may be emergency patients, we strive to see them in a timely manner and not at the expense of cutting scheduled patient visits short.

Communication is an essential part of our practice. Our staff is highly friendly and very knowledgeable to help you with any questions that you may have.
