Dr. Julia Isherwood Schreiber grew up in Daphne, Alabama, located on Alabamas beautiful Gulf Coast. She attended Auburn University, graduating Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in biomedical sciences. Following college, she moved to Birmingham to attend dental school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Schreiber earned her doctorate of medical dentistry (D.M.D.) in 2006 and immediately began her specialty training as a resident in pediatric dentistry at the University of Alabama Dental School and The Childrens Hospital of Alabama. During her residency, she also received advanced instruction in the treatment of patients with special needs at the Sparks Center.
To stay current with the newest advancements in her field, Dr. Schreiber is a member of the Alabama Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Schreiber lives in Montgomery with her husband, Dr. Alex Schreiber, who practices orthodontics. The Schreibers welcomed their son, Aidan Alexander, in 2010 and their daughter, Josie Claire, in 2015. Dr. Schreiber enjoys gardening, cooking and traveling with her family.
Dr. LaKeshia Thomas is a proud native of Montgomery, Alabama where she attended Loveless Academic Magnet School (LAMP). She attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, graduating magna cum laude, with a degree in Biology. After college, she attended the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine. After receiving her doctorate of dental medicine (D.M.D) in 2012, she furthered her dental training and education by attending an Advanced Education General Residency Program at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry/ Lutheran Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. She is also a diplomat of the Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
She has always had a passion for treating kids and was elated to return to her home state of Alabama to begin her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Alabama, School of Dentistry and the Childrens Hospital of Alabama. During her residency, Dr. Thomas was selected as a Sparks trainee where she received advanced training in treating special needs patients. She is currently involved with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Alabama Dental Association. In her leisure time, Dr. Thomas enjoys biking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

We went in for my grand daughters first dental exam and they were amazing! The staff was very friendly and informative. They made sure to take time to answer every question that we had without making us feel rushed.

Always a wonderful experience when I bring my son in for a cleaning or a filling. Drs. Schreiber and Thomas are outstanding and very patient and caring. Their dental hygienists, assistants and administrative team are always helpful and answer any questions or concerns I may have. My son has special needs and has never been upset to go to his appointments. If you are looking for a dentist's for your child I highly recommend Dentistry for Children.

We are SO THANKFUL for this office! My daughter struggles with anxiety, and the staff is so fantastic with her. We came from another office that was not so understanding and she had terrible experiences. Makes our family even more thankful to have appointments here for all our kids.

Excellent, caring staff! Very thankful Dr. Thomas spoke with us about vitamins and some non-gummy choices that are available. I never feel out of the loop when reviewing x-rays with Dr. Thomas. Hygienists are all so caring and loving. Always a good experience here!

I took my son Carson today for his first appointment. Everyone in the office was so kind ! It was a great experience for my 9 year old. They told him everything they were going to do and were so patient with him. He had some anxiety about going but was put at ease immediately once they began. As a parent I lived everything about it. Definitely a 10 out if 10. !!!
