Dr. Shawn Taheri is a certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. He was raised in northern California, and completed his undergraduate work at U.C. Berkeley. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from U.C. San Francisco School of Dentistry, which is the number-one-ranked dental school in the country. He could have started practicing as a general dentist; however, he proceeded to complete three additional years of postdoctoral training at U.C. San Francisco, Oakland Childrens Hospital, and San Francisco General Hospital to become a certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Taheri currently is an associate professor at UCSF School of Dentistry. He has been training residents and new pediatric dentists for nearly two decades.
Dr. Taheri is highly trained in all aspects of pediatric dentistry, including behavioral management, conscious sedation, and dental restoration under general anesthesia. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed professional journals. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and California Dental Association.
Dr. Roya Naderi is our general dentist. She takes care of adult and older patients who decide to remain in our practice. Dr. Naderi was raised in Southern California, and didher undergraduate work at U.C. Irvine. She moved to northern California to attend dental school at U.C. San Francisco. After graduating from dental school, she took an extra year of postdoctoral training in advanced general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry at the University of the Pacific.
Dr. Naderi is an active member of the California Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. She has vast experience in every aspect of general dentistry, including treatment of gum disease, crowns and bridges, and root canals, and is highly trained in recent advances in cosmetic dentistry, such as tooth-colored fillings, teeth whitening, and porcelain veneers.
Dr. Sadeghi is a board-certified dental anesthesiologist (i.e., a Diplomate of the America Dental Board Anesthesiology) who has more than 20 years of experience in a wide variety of practice settings.
Dr. Sadeghi completed his undergraduate study in microbiology at the University of South Florida (1985-1989). He attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (1989-1993). He completed the anesthesia residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center with a focus on pediatric anesthesia and anesthesia for head and neck surgeries (1993-1995).
Following his residency, Dr. Sadeghi joined the clinical faculty of the Anesthesia Department at University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine as an assistant professor of anesthesiology to train residents and nurses in anesthesia (1995-1999).
Dr. Sadeghi started his private practice (Ambulatory Anesthesia Practice) in northern California (1999-present). His current practice is dedicated to office-based anesthesia for outpatient surgical and dental procedures. He has safely delivered anesthesia for thousands of pediatric and adult patients.
Dr. Sadeghi is an ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) instructor and teaches emergency protocols to doctors, nurses, and paramedics at Heart Share Training Center in San Jose. The California Dental Board has also appointed Dr. Sadeghi as a board inspector for anesthesia quality control delivered in dental offices. He examines anesthesiologists and oral surgeons as part of their anesthesia license and recertification process.

As our treatment plan coordinator, Azucena meets with patients and families to review their proposed care. She explains what is recommended andwhy the doctor feels it is the right approach, and reviews treatment options. Providing helpful, honest answers, she ensures everyone is able to make informed decisions about their smiles health!
Always smiling, Lyn enjoys interacting with and getting to know our patient families. She started working in the dental field in 1989, is a registered dental assistant, and joined our practice in 2002.
Lyn spends her days in our clinic:providing patient care and assisting the doctors with various procedures. She seats and prepares patients for their visit, explains what will happen, and makes sure everyoneiscomfortable. Remaining chairside, she helps the doctor while supporting our patient and, when finished, offers home care instructions.
With her in-depth knowledge of insurance billing processes, and ease at explaining coverage, Rocio helps patients understand their benefits. She is a certified dental assistant who has worked in the dental field since 2011 and been with our office since 2013.
Rocio collects each patients insurance information and contacts the carrier to confirm eligibility and benefits. She reviews the information with the patients, discussestheir financial responsibility, and coordinates all the billing.
With her gentle manner, Tracy makes sure patients are comfortable during visits and leave feeling informed and confident. She became a dental assistant in 2015 and formally joined our office in 2017, but weve known her for years: She has been our patient since 2002!
Tracy assists Dr. Naderi and Dr. Taheri with various procedures, to makesure patients feel comfortable and welcome. She also takes X-rays, performs dental cleanings, and provides useful, understandable oral health education.

This office lied to us! We went there for consultation for my child who had a major cavity. Before the appointment I made sure that they have all the xRay images of the teeth and there is no need for another set of xRays since there is no doubt that xRays are harmful for a young kid. The moment we got there, they charged us 129$ for consultation fee even as we presented that our child has both Aetna and Delta coverage. She lied to us that first consultation is not covered by insurance (which is not true), and second Aetna and Delta do not participate in coordination of benefits (COB) which is another lie. While we were there and Dr. Taheri was explaining to us the reason behind the cavities, his assistant took several xRays of our child teeth, which we had sent them through email and they were only one week old. Then the office administrator checked our insurance and saw that they can bill the insurance for cleaning, so without telling us, they performed cleaning. At the end they charged our insurance for both xRays and cleaning which none was needed. Then for the actual treatment of the cavities, they gave us an estimate of out of pocket for 1040$ in first session and around 1500$ for the second session. When I asked why do not you bill our secondary insurance (in this case Delta), again she repeated that Aetna and Detla do not do COB. Then I called both insurances and first they said this office should have not charged us for consultation, and also they do COB. I called the office, again she lied that they have talked with Aetna and Aetna does not accept COB. We filed a complaint with Aetna regarding the consultation fee and this office refunded 77$ from the 129$ that we had paid. We took out child to another dentist, and they have been treating our child without charging us a penny. They first use the primary insurance and after that claim is processed, they bill secondary. Please do not believe what this office tells you about the expenses and make sure you get a second opinion. Thankfully there are many great pediatric dentistry in Bay Area.

Dr. Taheri and staff are amazing!! Both of my kids have been coming since 2015. We recently moved to the East Bay but we will continue to work with Dr. Taheri, the long drive is definitely worth it! The staff is always very friendly, very patient and very professional!

I am more than willing to drive one and a half hours each way to see her for my extensive treatments. Her bedside manner is excellent and her staff is very friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend her for any dental works.

Very caring and patient dentist. My daughter has Down Syndrome and this by far was her best experience at a dental office. I appreciate their approach of building trust with her. I was shocked that my daughter was singing in the car on our way home after having a really big cavity filled.

Dr Taheri and Dr Naderi are just amazing. My family had been referred to them after years of struggling with dental issues. They took it all on, and we are so grateful for all they have done. The best dentistry we have EVER had. I feel like we are finally in the right hands, and getting the best care. They are truly the best blessing for myself and my children. The entire staff are all wonderful! My children have no fear when coming to them. And we are so happy to know that our teeth are so much better now!

Great experience since we needed a pediatric dentist! My kiddo needs a lot of dental work. The dentist, dental assistant, and hygienist are so sweet and caring. They are very patient and details my child's x-ray. The ladies are so friendly and helpful. It is great to have a caring person on the phone to get an appointment. We live 25 minutes away from the office! They are amazing! I recommend them to my friends and colleagues!
