I joined Dentistry for Children in Milpitas in August of 1998 as an associate for Dr. Michael Harris, pediatric dentist and founder of Dentistry for Children who opened this practice in 1972. In the seven years that I trained under Dr. Harriss expert guidance, I saw how rewarding pediatric dentistry is. Having the experience and knowledge to give kids a positive dental experience not only amazes parents, but is my greatest accomplishment. I love my patients and am passionate about providing my patients an exceptional level of dental care. It has been a great compliment to see some of my patients go on to careers in dentistry as a result of their treatment here! I am very proud to continue the legacy of excellence in care for children, adults, and patients with special needs.
I always knew I wanted to be in healthcare and to help people. I was fortunate that a high school friends father was a dentist, so I had the opportunity early to observe him at his office. It took me only one day to know that I wanted to be a dentist! The combination of helping people and the patient relationships I observed at his office was inspiring and I knew thats what I wanted to do with my life. I feel honored to have been able to develop a similar rapport with my patients over the years. In my spare time I enjoy playing golf with my father and brother in law and visiting with my niece and nephew. In my 20s I was an avid volleyball player and mountain biker.
Dr. Benjamin Cho completed the Advanced Clinical Experience residency program from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1998. He has served as an adjunct faculty member from 1997-1998 and as a clinical instructor from 2000-2001 atthe University of the Pacific School of Dentistry where he also completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Cho joined Dentistry for Children in August of 1998. He grew up locally in Santa Cruz and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley.
My daughter and I are among those who make long distance trips to go to dentistry for children (and grown-ups too!!) Every single time, it's so worth the drive. On our last visit, my daughter had a small cavity in one of her baby teeth. When we got it filled, it turned out to be a complete non-event; she never felt a thing, and after the fact, she was as nonchalant about the experience as she has been with every one of her cleanings. I have to say: I sure do wish that I had been able to be treated by a dentist as skilled as Dr. Cho when I was her age. Still, we feel blessed that we've found Dentistry For Children, and I'd gladly recommend them to anyone I know

'I just wanted to say how great Dr. Cho has been for my family. We 've been seeing him for many years now for our son (and us too!). Our old pediatric dentist wanted to knock our son out with general anesthesia to do a root canal. We obviously did not want to do that, as he was only 5 or 6 years old at the time, so we were fortunate to find Dr. Cho who knew just how to do the procedure without knocking him out, and without him feeling any discomfort whatsoever.Dr. Cho is extremely kind and caring... he always has our best interests at heart. We went from having a son that was terrified of the dentist (our old one), to one that doesn 't mind going to the dentist at all!'The staff is also very friendly and helpful. 'I took my 7y.o. son to see Dr. Cho after another dentist did a poor job on his teeth. Dr. Cho and his staff are extremely competent, you can see they know what they are doing, and they are excellent with children! They are caring and professional. I wish I had gone to him in the first place, so my son wouldn 't have had all the issues he had after seeing the other dentist. Dr. Cho and his team go above and beyond to make the visit as comfortable as possible for their patients. I just learned this week his employees have been with him for a very long time, I mean 20 plus years! That says a lot about him as a professional as well as a person. They are all wonderful!!!!'
We had another stubborn tooth a couple of years ago and a different dentist, and we had to go the route of valium sedation. While it's comical to see your kid in a stupor, I knew I didn't want to go down that path again.
We left the office with 2 pulled teeth, no tears, one relieved father, and a happy kid. He was 'chomping at the bit' for dinner less than 3 hours later and apparently suffered no lingering effects from the extraction.
Did you know: Our dental office has many patients who are children of dentists, pediatricians and doctors? And many of those doctors are also patients as well! That’s right, Dr. Cho is the dentist that other doctors and dentists trust for dental care for themselves and their children! That is a huge compliment. We are honored to be the 'unofficial' dentist for dentist’s kids!
Did you know: There's a story behind how we started seeing adults in our practice. When our patients grew up and became adults, they didn’t want to leave...so we didn’t make them! We are very proud to continue to see generations of families
Did you know: As of 2020 our staff have been here collectively for more than 90 years?! Yes, that’s right. Mary, our Receptionist, has been here for 26 years. Bobbie, our Practice Manager, has been here for 25 years. Dr. Cho, our gentle, patient, and kind leader and doctor, has been here for 21 years. Julie, our lead dental assistant has been here for 18 years. This is an amazing testament to the incomparable quality of our caring doctor and dental office staff. We love our patients and have spent our lives devoted to providing the highest quality dental care here in our “home”

The reception and support are horrible. They make the patient feel so unwelcome. Will never visit this place ever again.

I've been coming to this dentist before dr.cho took over and when he did he has been nothing but great! They are very honest and trustworthy as I've been going to them since I was very little up until now almost 30. They are very informative, very welcoming and give amazing service. I drive 45 mins just to see them since moving out of town because they take care of their patients and are the only dentist I trust!

Stuff are very friendly and helpful. Clinic is very clean and neat. There is a delicate play area for kids. Doctor Cho are very nice and patient with our daughter who is first time seeing dentist. This is very great and positive experience for my daughter. We are very pleased that we come here. Stuff is also very patiently going thru all the forms during our first visit. The overall experience is good and no rush at all. Doctor take time to answer our questions and allow additional time for our additional questions. Update Aug 2021: Downgrade from 5 to 1 star. We has been struggle bringing our 4 years old to there since Pandemic. Their new policy require only kid can go inside , adult have to stay outside of building which does not make any sense to me. My daughter is not even 4 year old , how can she go in by herself ? what really disappointed me is when I have to cancel my daughter appointment due to traveling plan today. they are being very pushing to want me to make next appointment right away, I told them I have not finalized my traveling plan. I can not make next appointment now. then they start me lot of question like, are you coming back for caring?. they keep holding me on the phone for questions. "oh , can you come tomorrow morning 10am ?" I rejected because my daughter just started her Kindergarten school and it is new school for her. They are not giving up .. " oh.. how about next week ?" I rejected it as well. They continuing talking to me. " all of our appointment time is school day, you have to skip school day anyway , you might as well bring her in this week" . I was really mad that they did not spare the thought from parents side. school just started , they are lot of things , habit , scheduling need to settle down. I am very very disappointment with their attitude and way to pushing.

Both of our kids have seen Dr. Cho and his assistants for their check ups twice a year since they were 3 years old. They are now 14 and 11 years old. Both happen to have no cavities and Dr. Cho has always been professional when pointing out any concerns. He was the first to notice that our daughter had extra teeth that needed to be removed and also explained why she needed a referral to orthodontics. In addition, Dr. Cho let us know my son had pits in his molars that needed to be sealed as a preventive measure and we were very happy with the work Dr. Cho performed to address that issue. Dentistry for Children was an exceptionally clean environment even before Covid protocols were implemented. The office is also cheerfully decorated and welcoming to children and families. We highly recommend Dr. Cho and Dentistry for Children to anyone who desires top notch dental care.

Been to the other dentists (wasted about $140 - $160 consultation fees each time, even encountered a rude staff!) and they insisted on wanting to only use IV sedation during our daughter's tooth decay treatment. Knowing the potential adverse effects of IV sedation as well as hearing those tragic cases that some children have died, this is something we did not want to risk for our 3 year old. After diligently searching the web, finally found a dentist who competently performed the procedure WITHOUT IVs! Thanks to Dr. Cho and we had a safer option for our daughter! There are no words to describe how HIGHLY we recommend Dr. Cho to all the parent's out there who care for their young one's safety. You can feel confident in placing your children into Dr. Cho's miraculous hands!!! Staff are also very welcoming.

Dr. Cho has been my dentist since I was very young, maybe 5 years old. I'm 22 now. He provides excellent service, is always on time, is very funny and friendly and takes very good care of his patients. I honestly consider him family at this point; there's no dentist I would rather see :)

Dr Cho is excellent! I travel 1 hr 45 min in bay area traffic to take my children to see him. That is how much I trust his care! He always explains the plan of care, current problems or potential problems. He is conservative in his treatment of dental issues which I appreciate. He doesn't waste my time or money with unnecessary treatments. Both he and his staff are kind and patient with my children. They are always smiling and friendly. Dr Cho wants visiting the dentist to be a positive experience and he meets children at their level. My kids always look forward to their visits with eager anticipation (sounds strange but is true!). It is difficult to convince other people in my area to travel so far for a dentist but I recommend him to all my friends with small children!

I have been seeing Dr. Cho for dental care for over 25 years. He and his staff are so welcoming and always treat me with respect. Dr. Cho is very meticulous with his all his procedures and always talks me through anything unfamiliar, putting me at ease. Before I leave any appointment, Dr. Cho always makes sure that all my questions or concerns are answered.

I typically only prefer to leave positive feedback; I have debated about this for months because they have been seemly very nice over the past decade, but this last incidence really left me with bad experience in the dental office's integrity and credibility. If they decided they are close on Monday and thus leave you less than 48 business hours to cancel appointment, you would be penalized with the $50 late cancellation fee, even when you call to cancel on a Friday afternoon for an upcoming Wednesday appointment . It is ridiculous how this "dental relationship" turned out to be and eventually shows low integrity of the business despite of how smiley they are on a regular day. Also, I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere if you have a change of insurance that became *out of network* to them. You will then really come to realization how much per visit been charged over there. You wouldn't be informed auto-magically either, you would just find out the hard way.

Dr. Cho and his staff are wonderful. They are clean, respectful, and pleasant. He explains everything in detail and is very proper in his care. He understands that going to the dentist can be anxiety inducing for some and he takes special care to make it a pleasant experience. We are very happy with the quality and level of service here.

My son started coming here when he was 5 and now he is 16. We travel from West San Jose not because there aren't any good dentist in my area there are quite a lot, but none of them are Benjamin Cho. He is honest and very transparent in all the years I have taken my son. Ben Cho and his staff are the best there is.

This is my first public review for anyone, besides the annual performance reviews I had written for my team. While I personally am anti-social-media, I feel compelled to provide my strongest recommendation for Dr. Benjamin Cho and his RDA team on this Google platform. To give a little background, my 5yo daughter, ET, is the type that would spend hours painting at her little arts-and-crafts corner. I understand and respect her joy of solitude and creativity, as I am an introvert myself; socializing can be draining at the end of the day, that's why introverts are selectively social, for energy conservation :-D. ET is also careful when it comes to risk assessments: i.e. she refused to go on Merry-Go-Round, bc it made her too nauseous. Funny kid! Anyhow, we came to Dr. Ben Cho for a dental emergency. It was quite a challenging situation, mostly because ET was in pain and was refusing care, but Dr. Ben Cho and his team worked together to do what was best for my ET. During the main procedure, he focused intently, was very gentle and mindful of her pain. On our follow-up visits, including a filling and cleaning, everything went flawlessly. Dr. Ben Cho patiently worked with me throughout the whole preparation process for all the visits, and was very supportive and open to my unconventional requests. I may have wasted his time quite a bit with my questions, but he went out of his way to help and explain. ET is now all happy and well. It is tough to see any kid in pain or is going through a difficult procedure, but to believe and trust that Dr. Ben Cho has our best interest in mind is very reassuring and comforting. He is also compassionate, warm and easy going, with a nice sense of humor. Dr. Ben Cho truly has unique talents with kids and an unmatched dedication to his patients, and I recommend him and his Dental clinic with the highest possible enthusiasm.

Dr. Cho and his staff are all amazing! We come all the way from Gilroy to see him. He has been our dentist for years. We have five children and everyone loves going. He makes going to the dentist fun! Even when my kids have to get work done on their teeth, he is so gentle and patient, that they think they are just getting a "special cleaning." I highly recommend him!!
