Dr. Johnna Driscoll graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1990 and has been practicing in Petoskey her entire career. Dr. Driscoll continues to expand her knowledge of dentistry by taking courses from leading clinicians like Drs. John Kois, Frank Spear and David Hornbrook. She also regularly attends dental meetings sponsored by the MDA, ADA, AACD and most recently the AADSM (American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine). She feels it is important to educate herself and her team about new materials, techniques and technology so that together, they can provide the best care possible.
On a personal note, Dr. Driscoll has three children: a married daughter in San Francisco along with her first grandson, a son living in St. Ignace and a daughter in school in Harbor Springs. Dr. Driscoll loves living in Northern Michigan, and in her free time, she likes to read, hike, bike, ski and bake cookies for everyone to enjoy.
Dr. Mercer is a Michigan native raised in the Detroit area. He received his Bachelor of Science from Lake Superior State University in 1973 and Doctorate of Dental Science from the University of Detroit in 1979.
As a practicing dentist in St. Ignace for over 30 years, Dr. Mercer has extensive training in cosmetic, prosthetic and implant dentistry along with additional training in orthodontics and laser surgery. He focuses on all aspects of family and restorative dentistry, including implant-retained dentures, partial dentures, crowns and bridges.
Dr. Mercer is a member of the following associations: the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, American Academy of Osseointegration, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, World Clinical Laser Institute and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Mercer is married to Dr. Johnna Driscoll. They have three children: Eryn, Alex and Julie Marie.
Taylor has been a part of this amazing team at Dentistry by the Bay since 2012. She is one of the three lovely ladies you will see when you come into the office. She specializes in insurance, scheduling and financial arrangements. She continues to learn how to help the practice and patients by attending dental seminars.
Taylor was born and raised in Petoskey, this beautiful place she gets to call home. She has a son, Rocky, who is the world to her and keeps her busy playing outside and reading books. When she has spare time, she likes to spend it with her family, go camping and enjoy being outdoors!
Beth graduated from the University of Louisville in 1994 and joined our team in July 2020. She motivates our patients and helps them achieve healthy smiles they love. She enjoys that the whole team strives to show compassion to every patient and help them feel special.
Cheryl has been a part of our team since 2007. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1977. She also received a radiology award and participated in an honor sorority. Her favorite part of Dentistry by the Bay is our patients! Cheryl brightens our office with flowers, changing lightbulbs and cultivating relationships with both our team and patients.
Vickie joined our team in April 2017. In May 1992, she received her associate degree in applied science and dental hygiene. She works to educate and motivate our patients to help them know and do better with their oral health. It takes a team to deliver quality dental health!
Kelley graduated from Lansing Community College with a degree in Applied Science and Dental Hygiene in 1996. She believes that dental health is important to the overall health of a person and works to help people understand the health of their mouth and find solutions that work for them. She has a great appreciation for the team of dental professionals that work together to help each other do our best work at Dentistry by the Bay.
In her spare time(HAHA) she enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, going hiking, traveling, learning new things, trying new things and looking forward to what amazing things life has in store.
Bethany joined Dentistry by the Bay in June 2016. She is certified in taking dental X-rays, and she likes to help our patients deal with their dental fears because she knows what it is like to be scared at the dentists office.
Amanda was blessed to join this amazing team in 2017. She truly enjoys getting to know all the patients on a personal level. When patients come to the office, her top goal is to make them feel welcome and cared for.
Amanda is married to her amazing husband, Shawn, and they have two dogs. As a Michigan native, Amanda enjoys spending time outdoors and takes advantage of each season. Boating, kayaking, snowmobiling and four-wheeling are just a few things she likes to do in her free time.
Kacey feels blessed to have joined Dentistry by the Bay in 2007 when she moved here to Petoskey. Her role here has evolved over the years, taking her out of her comfort zone of assisting and putting her in management, marketing, social media and other administrative duties.
Kacey is able to utilize her business degree from Baker College with these expanded office duties. She continues to expand her knowledge with continuing education courses in all aspects of the dental field.
Kacey has taken many different continuing education courses, some of which include orthodontics, temporomandibular dysfunction, sleep apnea care, OSHA, appliance therapy, TRIOS scanning and social media.
Kacey has an amazing and talented husband. They have an adorable, smart and hilarious daughter who was born on Christmas Day. She is a proud aunt to a handsome nephew and adorable niece. She enjoys Jeeping all over Michigan with her family and friends!
