In 1998 after graduating University at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree Cum Laude , Dr. Kaplansky continued his training as a resident in the Advanced General Dentistry program at UB.
Since 1999, hes been practicing family dentistry with a special interest in orthodontics (braces) and dental implants. In 2002 he opened up a practice in Middleport and in 2007 moved it to a newly constructed, state-of-the-art building in Gasport.
Professionally, Dr. Kaplansky is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, the Eighth District Dental Society, the Niagara County Dental Society, Lockport Dental Society and Academy of GP orthodontics. He received prestigious fellowship awards from the Academy of General Dentistry in 2003 and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2008.

While in school she was a recipient of a prestigious Maryanne Mather Clinical Research Award for her active participation in clinical research. Dr. Smith finished her general practice residency at Faxton St. Lukes Hospital in Utica, New York in 2015 and same year joined our practice. Her main focus is general dentistry for both children and adults. Dr. Smith is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA).In her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking with her family and dog, and working on finishing all 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks. Dr. Smith especially enjoys the hiatus of DIY home construction.

I went for my appointment today where I had to receive 2 root canals due to a softball injury. I was very nervous, but Dr. Kaplansky put my mind at ease by explaining what the whole process would be and answering all of my questions. I was so comfortable during the root canals that I almost fell asleep! Everything went very smoothly and I would highly recommend.

I am 64 years old and have had A LOT of dental work over the years. I have just changed to Dr Kaplansky after 30 years with one dentist. Therefore, I can say I was a bit apprehensive about switching. I had pain free dental work, which was extensive, three crowns in one visit with Dr Kaplansky. I found the staff friendly, helpful and kind. Whether it be the receptionist, assistant, the DR's or the financial advisors. DO NOT HESITATE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.

My last visit (2 yrs ago) to a dentist who I had gone to for at least 10 yrs., had me leaving with a mouthful of blood, before the ordinary 6 month cleaning was even completed. After that experience, I was lax in getting my yearly dental check ups. My husband had gone to Dr Kaplansky for implants, so I decided to give them a try. My tech was amazing, from ex rays, cleaning then brushing, not one slip, pain or drop of blood. Have already made my appointment for my next cleaning. Thank you for restoring my comfort in seeing a dentist.

Everyone was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable in answering my questions and addressing my concerns. I was a little disappointed though. It sounds like the process may be more involved, expensive and time-consuming than I had hoped.

Friendly waiting room staff but Dr Kaplansky himself is not friendly I felt uncomfortable as I was wincing in pain and he didn't seem to care I was given a 4 wisdom teeth removal at the time I sat still followed directions and I'm a very polite young lady might I add. I didn't need dr kaplansky whipping my head wherever he wanted or the attitude he gave his helper to always be suctioning he shouldn't have to ask her! All I'm gonna say is it's a very hostile environment he didn't know what he was doing and after calling back in immense pain nothing but ibuprofen 800 was prescribed uhm you just drilled into my jaw buddy what do you mean ibuprofen and that's it ... I got this done Thursday it's Monday I'm still swollen sore bruised and honestly won't ever look at the dentist the same again he ruined any future endevours I may have had! I won't recommend anyone to him that's a promise!!! Very not happy Might I add in I called on Friday my step mom to be exact called to get more pain meds and she was told no so how did you not know?!? I couldn't even open my mouth to call how pathetic I'm sorry you feel the need to lie Dr kaplansky but this is how it happened non of whatever you made up down there!

Awesome! My initial call to set up an appointment was terrific! My actual appointment went well as soon as I stepped up to the desk, Dawn was pleasant and helped me with some answers on the through questionnaire. Then on to Kim the Hygenist, she was patient and kind- she put me at ease when I told her I would rather go thru childbirth and hip replacements than visit the Dentist. I was so nervous... then Dr. Smith came in and she was terrific too! I was so very impressed with the experience it definitely will be easier the second time around!

Super friendly and professional staff. Everyone is always in a good mood and truly makes going to the dentist a good experience. I recommended my father there for dental implants and a few days later I got a gift card in the mail for the new pizza joint in town! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Staff has been amazing every time I have been in. Hardly any wait time, online info is easy to access and send, they don't up sell and tell you what you need for the best oral hygiene that you can have. Much appreciated. Actually signed my family up to join the practice as well. The only recommendation I would make is to accept Medicaid. Unless it has changed since my last inquiry. My husband and I foster children through the county, and 9/10 they have Medicaid but don't have a practice. I'd love to bring all the kids to the same practice.

I went in the office to have a broken tooth extraction. Dr. Koli did my extraction, she gave me the gentlest novocaine shot that I have ever had. When she was done with the procedure I had to ask if she was done because I didn't feel any pain. Dr. Koli will be doing all my my dental work in the future.
