Sedation dentistry involves medication beingadministered before or during dental treatment to allowpatients to feel calm and relaxed throughout a procedure. The type of sedation your dentist gives you is based on your level of anxiety, the length of your dental treatment, and what kind of dental treatment you are receiving.

Some peoplefeel genuinely afraid at the mere thought of dental visits. This distress can result in a downward spiral in which patients neglect routine as well as urgent dental care. Over time, these problems can easily become severe.

Sedation dentistry offers relief to patients who suffer from mild to severe dental anxiety. It is also helpful for patients undergoing a long procedure or several dental treatments at once. Our dental practice, Dentistry at the Heights, offers mild sedation, nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation.

Smile makeovers are similar to full mouth reconstructions, but instead of achieving practical improvements, this procedureis focused oncosmetic results. Patients who are receiving several veneersat our Brooklyn Heights practice, for example, might be more comfortable with the aid of sedation.

Oral sedation is the use of orally administered medication to help a patient relax during a dental procedure. The medication is given in pill form and the sedative effects can range from minimal to moderate. You will be given a pill about an hour before your procedure and you will become groggy. If your doctor needs to ask you a question or needs you to move a certain way, you will be able to respond.

IV sedation quickly delivers medication into the bloodstream during a dental procedure. Our office works closely with an anesthesiologist who is able to quickly adjust the level of sedation, if necessary. You will reach a state of near-sleep, and you will be monitored throughout treatment. This type of sedation is best for more complex or lengthy procedures.

If you have been avoiding an overdue trip to the dentist, sedation could be the solution you're looking for.Our friendly, professional team is very experienced in providing sedation dentistry so that you can get the care you want and need. Doctors are very educated and knowledgeable,, very friendly and comfortable,, I made an appointment over a week ago give all my information everything was well set , got called on Monday with a reminder of my appointment for Tuesday,, reached Tuesday 15 minutes before my appointment filled out the forms,, did some test and then they came and told me that my insurance doesn't cover my visit and hit me with a 95$ fee .. they had one week to verify all the information,, the hospital is just scamming to get money in my opinion, I paid the 95$ because I already travel 2 hours to get there .. but they are knowledgeable and experience but they just trying to get money out of you

Dr. Kevin Trotter and his team at Dentistry At The Heights, have been been my sole provider for dental services for more than 20 years. I recently learned of a need for oral surgery that would be fairly intricate. I decided to stay with Dentistry At The Heights, and could not be more pleased with my decision. The procedure was smooth and more importantly, successful. The team was prepared for my 8AM arrival, ready to go. Everyone made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. Dr. Trotter did an excellent job and made sure to follow up personally to make sure my healing process was going well. This procedure involved dental implants, which was a major decision for me. As a Human Resource professional, I am involved in selecting health care providers for the employees of companies I work for. My selection factors include expertise, professionalism, quality care, and excellent customer service. I apply these same standards when making decisions involving my personal care. I am extremely satisfied with my choice of Dr. Kevin Trotter and his team at Dentistry At The Heights.

I called Dentistry at the Heights in a panic. I was at work and had cracked my old bridge while eating lunch. Within minutes, I was on the phone with Dr. Trotter and he assured me he could help. A few hours later, I arrived at his office and was warmly welcomed by his staff. The office waiting room was clean and comfortable. I filled out some forms and was quickly ushered to a patient room. The modern equipment and technology available were impressive. The support staff and Dental Assistants were friendly and supportive. Dr. Trotter was knowledgeable, informative, efficient, and compassionate. The whole process made me forget about my fears of "The Dentist". After my successful procedure, I left Dr. Trotter and his staff at Dentistry at the Heights feeling comfortable and confident knowing that future visits would be just as successful.

I've been going to Dentistry at the Heights for 15 years now. The best endorsement I can give is the fact that in spite of the fact that I get free health care in Canada, where I split my time with NYC,I choose to pay out of pocket for DATH, because I am so pleased with their level of service that to me, it's worth it. They're a great business--their standard of care, the quality of their work, and the congeniality of their 'chairside' manner are all top notch. Most recently, Dr. Wismer provided exemplary service with a (masked) smile, and I look forward to my next visit.

I've been here once before in 2018 and this experience was extremely different from the last time. Everyone was so positive and helpful. From the receptionist to the woman that cleaned my teeth, to the actual dentist. Very personable, very patient, very understanding. I'm mad at myself for not getting names. However, the woman with the pretty curly hair that travels a lot, was able to give me recommendations that the dentist later reiterated (which made me feel like she was very knowledgeable), continuously checked on me and did an amazing job with the cleaning. The Canadian dentist was able to set me up with the best plan to reach healthier teeth and she also completed a porcelain crown that blended extremely well with my real teeth. It is now the morning after and I am not experiencing any pain. She really did a great job. The pretty Hispanic receptionist was able to help me prioritize my appointments and helped me create a plan that would work best with my insurance so that I am not constantly spending money out of pocket. Lastly I can not forget the sweet woman that assisted my dentist that put Netflix on the tv for me to try to make me feel more comfortable. 10 out of 10 experience.

This place was great! The whole staff was caring and seemed up on the latest technology and techniques so I immediately felt like I could trust them. The support staff was also awesome!!! A lovely woman walked me through my entire care plan with how much everything would cost, what would be covered by insurance, what would not, etc. and made sure I was comfortable with everything. The office also contacted/dealt with insurance on my behalf which is MAJOR. They were down to work within my time constraints too and do the most costly procedures first while I still had insurance coverage. Most importantly, the whole thing was a pain-free experience! I'm glad I chose this practice.
