Dr. Ajamu Giscombe was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. He attended undergraduate school at North Carolina Central University in Durham. It was in undergraduate school that Dr. Giscombe fell in love with North Carolina. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Giscombe attended dental school at Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. While at HUCD, Dr. Giscombe developed a true passion for dentistry. Howard University provided an outstanding education in the art and science of dentistry.
Dr. Giscombe went on to a General Practice Residency at East Carolina Universitys Brody School of Medicine, which was affiliated with Pitt County Memorial Hospital. After residency, Dr. Giscombes membership in the National Health Service Corp led him to practice in the Midwest, providing care to the underserved at the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin. While in Wisconsin Dr. Giscombe also worked part-time with a private dental practice. Eventually, Dr. Giscombe decided to return to his second home in North Carolina, and worked for many years at CommWell Health Dental Clinic, again providing treatment for an underserved and often uninsured population.
It is Dr. Giscombes goal to develop lasting relationships with his patients. His patients and colleagues affectionally refer to him as Dr. G. He looks to provide gentle, exceptional service to anyone he has the privilege to treat.In his spare time, Dr. G loves spending time with his wife and three children, and enjoys staying active with physical fitness and outdoor activities.
