No matter how far afield Dr. John Miller has gone for his extensive dental training, his heart has always remained in South Carolina! So that is where he established his two dental offices: in Georgetown and Murrells Inlet.
Born in Georgetown, Dr. Miller attended local schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. He then earned a bachelors degree in biology from Francis Marion College and attended the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. After completing his doctorate in dental medicine (DMD) in 1988, Dr. Miller started his practice in Georgetown. With the growth of his practice, he opened a second location in Murrells Inlet in 2008.
Dr. Millers postdoctoral training includes many different areas of dentistry, such as dental implant surgery, Invisalign orthodontics, laser surgery, conscious sedation, and cosmetics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, and the Pee Dee District Dental Society.
Dr. Miller lives near Georgetown with his wife, Kristi, a family nurse practitioner, and their three sons. The entire family enjoys the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. Dr. Miller served as Scoutmaster for the Pawleys Island Boy Scouts. His two oldest sons are Eagle Scouts, and the youngest is working on his requirements for Eagle.

Very disappointed in this place. At first I was extremely happy with them, but my last visit with my daughter changed my mind dramatically. My 4 year old learned at school that sometimes you can get a shot in your mouth at the dentist, so she was scared about letting the dentist look at her mouth. I explained to her that letting the dentist clean her teeth would help prevent her from getting a shot. After doing so, the dentist informed me that they don't do threats here and told me to find another dentist to go too. And walked out the room. His insult made me feel like a failure of being a mom. And honestly I can't believe he would of said that just because I was explaining to a child how important it was to let him clean her teeth. Now I have to either drive an hour away to another child dentist office or start taking her to an adult dentist. Not only did he unjustly judge me but he also made it extremely difficult for me to do my job as a mother to take care of my daughter's needs. I'm sadly disappointed in this place.

My sister went to visit Dr. Miller because she needed a tooth pulled, she was in a lot of much pain. He looked in her mouth, backed up and said when was the last time you were at a dentist? He acted like he was afraid to come near her, she was so upset, he made her feel terrible. He looked at his assistant and said you're going to need to reschedule her. My sister just got up in extreme pain and said you don't need to reschedule, I'll not be coming back here. It was awful, she suffered because of Dr. Miller. Please go somewhere else. He doesn't even deserve one star.

We are from WV, my husband dropped his denture and broke it in half! I contacted the office and they were able to see him on Monday! We found the staff to all be very pleasant and professional! They were able to fix his denture in the office and return it the same day! Dr. Miller and his assistant were quite helpful, and the Staff were amazing! Thank You !

We are from WV, my husband dropped his denture and broke it in half! I contacted the office and they were able to see him on Monday! We found the staff to all be very pleasant and professional! They were able to fix his denture in the office and return it the same day! Dr. Miller and his assistant were quite helpful, and the Staff were amazing! Thank You !

Called to schedule an appt for my husband. He was in serious pain and it was late afternoon the Friday before memorial day, so if he wasn't seen then, he would have had to wait til at least Tuesday . I called and asked when their next available appt was and she said Wednesday and I said no thanks , he kind of needs to be seen today, he's in pain. She asked about it and then made an appt for that day. That was the only positive experience from them! So my husband gets back and tells me that they done an xray and gave him a prescription for pain med, said they didn't have time to do anything else that day. Now , it was them thatthat chose to work him in, and my husband was there on time and it was 2 hours before they closed that day . Why would they even schedule to see him, knowing it was an emergency, knowing they wouldn't have time to do anything for him. And it costed us $175, even though they didn't help any .The pain med they prescribed didn't help at all and we ended up in the emergency room that night . The er doc took one look in his mouth and seen what it was , an infected wisdom tooth. The dentist from the office didn't say anything along that line, only that they needed to pull a tooth, one that was chipped, that's what we figured was causing the pain. The er doc was in disbelief that the dentist didn't see that and prescribe antibiotics . Never going back there.
