Trusted Oak Brook dentist, Dr. Umar Haque graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and has completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Illinois and University of Chicago. He has been practicing for over 14 years and is the author of the book Dental 101: The 101 Factors You Should Know Before Going to the Dentist.
Dr. Haque is a member of the faculty at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine and teaches there part time. He completed the Dawson Academy Curriculum, the Implant Seminars Continuum and Masters Series and has taken numerous courses with Misch, Garber, Salama and Goldstein. He also completed a Fellowship, Masters and Diplomat with the American Dental Implant Association, and a Fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Haque is the president of the Passion 4 Dentistry Study Club with 40 active members. Currently, he is undergoing Accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, is a certified continuing education provider and member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Association, the West Suburban Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society.
I have been one of the Dental Assistants at Oak Brook Smiles since the fall of 2012. I graduated from Illinois School of Health Careers as a Dental Assistant and have been in the dental field for about three years now. I chose to become a dental assistant because I love to help people feel good about themselves and be confident with their smile! I always try to make patients feel comfortable and make them feel at home when they come to our office.
Oak Brook Smiles is a great office! I also enjoy working with our staff members here at Oak Brook Smiles. They are awesome! We provide our patients with the most advanced technology in the dental field and we always strive to do our best to exceed our patients expectations. Our main goal is to try to make our patients happy about their smile!
I was born and raised in Cicero, IL. I married my wonderful husband, Carlos, on September 14, 2013. Our little one, Gael, will turn 4 in October. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and going shopping. Trying new restaurants and watching Gael grow are some of our favorite things to do!

Exceptional. The utmost professional, caring, top of the line dentistry around. Dr Haque and team consistently show expertise in every facet of their business. My family and I greatly appreciate their excellence and are grateful to have found them. From cosmetic dental procedures (bridges, crowns, extractions and bonding) to our family dental cleanings, Dr Haque and his hygienists are amazing at it all!

I had been seeing Dr. Haque for over 5 years. In October of 2019 I was told by Tori that Dr. Haque will no longer be accepting out of network insurance.She stated the paperwork was, "too much". I had seen several dentists since January 2020 and each has told me that I have severe problems with my implants. My current dentist told me that he would not be able to work on any of my teeth and referred me to UIC Prosthodontists. Long story short, I have to remove all the implants and crowns that Dr. Haque had put in. I was told the only way to fix my problems correctly would be a full mouth rehab. I was told that this would cost $75,000.00 upfront and would take over a year to complete. On October 6, 2022, I did go back to Dr. Haque with all the records and UIC report. He did see the issues with the implants and my "bite". Dr. Haque did say he could fix the problems and charge me less that what it would cost at UIC. The cost is far more than I can afford. This issue is causing physical pain and the stress of knowing the implants need to come out is unnerving.

Honestly - I'm never afraid or nervous to go to the Dentist anymore! Even when getting veneers, Dr. Haque & his entire staff are professional & comforting. I never worry because I know this man & his TEAM make my smile amazing. Thank you, Oakbrook Smiles!

I have seen a great difference in my gum health since I have been going here. Agnes is not only gentle and skilled but also willing to problem solve along with me so that I have actually been able to reverse my gum disease.

Do NOT make an appointment here. This office is a complete scam and they perform shady financial activities under the table at the patients expense. They DO NOT submit claims to your insurance. Instead, they claim your insurance will "pay you back" and you submit your own claim after giving the office hundreds or thousands of dollars. I've worked in the medical field for years and never heard of a medical practice that has this billing process. I have friends that previously were patients and we're screwed over from this office. I almost went here myself and glad I canceled my appointment. The workers there even say many people have left because of this. If workers are taking trash about their own company, listen to them. Save your time, money and the headache.

I have needed to have multiple appointments for dental work & am thankful I can trust Dr. Haque & his team. Recently OakBrook Smiles changed the way they work with insurance. Even though it was an adjustment, I am thankful for how Anel & Tori clearly communicated the treatment plans, my payment & what I would be reimbursed before I even got the work done. Sometimes I don't like the amount I need to pay, but I am also thankful for a trusted dentist who does an amazing job! Why would I go somewhere else, that may cost less, but the work being done isn't as stellar?! Dental coverage is different than medical coverage. So it isn't the dentist's fault for how much it is, but what the insurance isn't willing to pay. Insurance reimbursements have changed medically and also for behavior health & dentistry since Covid...so even though it is a change for all of us, I'm thankful for a dentist and staff that work for my best interest, not only for my oral health, but also my pocketbook. Finally, I have received multiple checks in a timely manner from my insurance. So what Anel & Tori have communicated to me each visit is accurate and true. And I am thankful! 7 years ago - Great! I came here after many bad experiences at dentists & frankly didn't want to go to another one! But oak brook smiles has made going to the dentist an enjoyable experience! Friendly staff, clean office, heating pillows, coffee, tea, & your choice of pandora music all help going to dentist actually pleasurable!

Oakbrook smiles is truly a combination of professionalism and sincere kindness and concern, all directed toward excellent care. I have never been in a healthcare setting that was so welcoming AND accommodating toward the patient. My entire family has gotten care here, and I just can't inagine going anywhere else. It has been 15 years, since Dr. Haque took the practice over. It's incredible that now, after 19 years at Oakbrook smiles, I feel the same way as stated in my previous review! But now, I trust in all of their practice decisions, even as they are evolving, to adapt to the needs of the community as well as to providing the best care possible as a superior dental business. I've always felt that my care was our first no matter what. They are truly like family!

My husband and I wanted to try this dentist office because it was closer to home compared to our other dentist but when I called for an appointment I was advised that all procedures are to be paid in full up front and that the insurance company will cut a check to pay the patient back. This office said they do this because they have a relationship with the patients not the insurance companies. But procedures cost thousands. I have never heard of this. It was disappointing to hear. We have 2 insurances as well so it would cover literally everything but to have to pay up front when we have insurance is ridiculous. I want to suggest change policy because you just lost 2 patients and probably many more. Plus side to it at least lady on the phone was professional and I'm glad she told me this before making an appointment.

My mother recently took a fall and knocked 2 of her teeth out. We picked Oakbrook smiles to replace her teeth. My mom was very scared. But the staff was so nice. The dentist was very thorough in explaining everything he would do to fix her smile. His assistance Dana was so sweet and made my mom feel safe and comfortable with the procedure. I highly recommend this dentist. Couldn't be more satisfied with everybody there
