Dental Village Associates of Poughkeepsie is a local dental office dedicated to fulfilling and improving your families dental needs. Since 2005, we have served hundreds of Hudson Valley families and thousands of patients of all ages. We strive to keep our patients satisfied and in turn, the majority of our business is through word of mouth and referrals.
Dr. Maria Karounos graduated from New York University Dental School in 1990. She fulfilled a 1 year dental residency at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center which was affiliated with NY Medical College. Dr. Maria has been in practice since 1991 and has had her own private practice since 1993. She opened the Poughkeepsie dental office in the Hudson Valley in November of 2005 and has been treating patients ever since. I don't know if this woman was having a bad day or what but she was completely condescending, rude and judgemental to a patient with mental health issues as it is. If this patient didn't have a good support system in place already, she probably wouldn't return to any dentist. I feel bad for anyone else who has been on the receiving end of this terrible dentist.

My family & I love having Dentist Maria Karounos take excellent & gentle care of us! The office is pristine, warm & friendly as well! I've never had such a high end treatment as I do here!

I found this location to be completely unprofessional and rude. Not wanting to normally say something however how staff act towards patients was inappropriate. When visiting they pushed for extra work done. I would highly recommend to find better care you deserve.

This is by far one of the "best" experiences I have had with a dental office in a long time. I was looking for a new dentist with more of a personalized experience vs. get them in and get them out with no real interest in you as the patient. I found just that with Dr. Maria, Shannon and Charice. Dr. Maria is top notch and knows her stuff. She has a very gentle approach and makes sure the patient is always comfortable. The office itself is modern and fresh and the atmosphere is welcoming. There is not a lot of waiting and everything has been very well planned. Shannon is super helpful and always greets you like she wants you there. Charice is one of the best. I can honestly say that I like going to the dentist! It's like visiting friends. Dr. Maria is a gem!

Love, love, love this dentist. I've been to several other practices in the past and none of them can compare to Dental Village Associates. Gentle, kind and caring, not what the average person thinks of when they hear dentist but that's what you get here. From the patient coordinator, to the dentist and assistant, your comfort and care are top priority. Dental Village Associates has and will be the reason why so many people, like myself, will enjoy going to the dentist.

My daughter just visited this dentist yesterday and it was a horror. She rushed through my daughters visit. Leaving her with a very uneven filling, which my daughter said is causing difficulty with her bite when she closes her mouth. My daughter said the dentist used her body as a table and continually kept leaning on my daughters body as well as resting her instruments on my daughters dribble bib. I told my daughter she should have gotten up and left but my daughter said it appeared Maria the dentist overbooked and was trying g to rush my daughters visit. This dentist should be ashamed of herself for rushing through a visit. I'm calling insurance TO DISPUTE PAYMEN. NOW MY DAUGHTER HAS TO FIND ANOTHER DENTIST TO CORRECT THE UNEVEN FILLING YOU DID. Not recommended. A patient should not be used as your personal table or leaning tool. Very unprofessional and sloppy work.

I just completed my visit at Dental Village. This was my second visit in the last two weeks. The first was a cleaning that showed that a couple of fillings that needed attention. Both visits were very pleasant, painless and left me feeling I was her most important patient. Marie took her time continually asking if I was alright and comfortable. When done with the fillings, she made sure my bite was perfect and took all necessary steps to ensure MY satisfaction. I have been a patient at Dental Village for over ten years. I wouldn't go any place else.

Dr. Maria Karounos has been our family dentist for several years. She's respectful, gentle and understanding, so If you have children who fear the dentist, your children will love Dr. Karounos. My appointments with Dr. Karounos have always been pleasant and personable. if you're looking for a dentist with integrity, you just found her! Best Dentist Office around. Easy, seamless, stress free visits. Everyone is so friendly and makes you feel so comfortable from the time you come in to the time you leave. I rarely ever wait once I arrive and I'm out the door in record timing. They are always extra attentive to concerns you may have and take care of everything with ease and confidence. I never receive any unforeseen bills as they are so good to make sure my insurance takes care of everything. I can't imagine going anywhere else for my teeth!!

I went to this office for one cavity filling and had a horrible experience. The office billed for an extra filling that was not done and the staff was very rude when I called about the issue. I had to report the office to my insurance. Really poor customer service, I'd recommend choosing a different dentist.

Dr. Maria and the entire staff are great. Nobody enjoys going to the dentist, but everyone at Dental Village is nice , helpful and they do a great job. If you are interested in finding a new dentist, give them a call. Highly recommend this place

Dr. Karanous and her staff are frieny, helpful, and efficient. They make billing easy, too, which is a big plus. Should you need more extensive work such as root canal that can be done in house. I couldn't recommend more highly.

I just started going Dr Karounos-Abouezzi DDS after my old dentist dropped my insurance provider. She is thorough, gentle, but works fast so I'm not there for hours. She does not serve two patients at the same time which I like for getting done quickly. She is pleasant with a good personality which makes me feel comfortable. I highly recommend this practice for a great dental experience

My whole family goes to Dr Karounos and we couldn't be happier with everyone at the office. My children actually look forward to going to the dentist! The whole staff is professional and kind and I would highly recommend this office to anyone.
