I was born in Iowa City and grew up in the town of Dysart, which is about an hour from Cedar Rapids. I did both my undergrad and dental training at the University of Iowa and graduated from dental college in 1995. I joined Dental Touch one year later and have been here ever since. I am very passionate about changing the way our patients view dentistry. I have deliberately integrated new technology into our practice to give you a better experience and focused on cosmetics by earning a fellowship at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.

I am a huge Hawkeye fan and love to ride bicycles. I have been on RAGBRAI many times and enjoy competing in several triathlons each year. I also love the outdoors and go on hiking and backpacking trips into the wilderness with my father and brothers every year.

I have been married to my wife, Christine, since shortly after graduation from dental school. We have been blessed with three beautiful children. Alexa was born in March 2001, Devin was born in July 2003 and Cayden was born in August 2005. We recently added a Morkie dog, Bear, to the mix.

If you are looking for a cosmetic or family dentist, I am here to help you out. I am very passionate about life and dentistry, and have a very positive attitude and outlook on both! I love working with my incredible, awesome team and most importantly, changing the lives of my patients.

Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies is the worlds premier post-graduate dental teaching center. Practicing cosmetic dentists from all over the world come to LVI to advance their education, knowledge, and expertise. Graduates of LVI are amongst the finest, most progressive dentists in the world. Founded in 1995, LVI was established to educate, guide and support dentists in the delivery of the most advanced, patient-based care possible.

Cosmetic dentists from all over the world come to LVI to further their educational training and to master the most current dental procedures and technologies. We provide dentists with expert instruction; intensive, hands-on clinical training, and state-of-the-art facilities and technology.

I grew up in Cedar Rapids, graduated from Jefferson High School, and went on to receive my Bachelors Degree in Biology from Mount Mercy University. I completed my dental training at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and shortly after, became a part of the Dental Touch team in August 2018. I am a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

My passion growing up was playing volleyball. I started around the age of eight and continued through my time in college at Mount Mercy. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, baking, working out, and playing with my dogs. Im a sucker for reality tv and a big bowl of ice cream!

Building a long-lasting relationship is key to creating an enjoyable dental experience, one of our main goals here at Dental Touch. I strive to improve the overall health of each patient while maintaining a fun and relaxed environment. I also believe that lifelong learning is important for success and growth as a provider, which will lead to the best patient care possible.

I started at Dental Touch Associates in February of 1998. I received my dental hygiene degree from Hawkeye Community College. As a dental hygienist, I love getting to know my patients and working together to achieve good oral hygiene.

I have been married to my husband, Bret, since 2001. We have two boys, Parker (2004) and Carson (2006). When Im not watching their activities, I love to work out, read fiction, and enjoy the summertime!

I have been very fortunate to be a team member at Dental Touch Associates since August of 1999. I received my education from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo in 1999, and after graduating, I continued to further my education by attending the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.

The most enjoyable part of working at Dental Touch is not only to help our patients feel comfortable while coming to see us for their dental needs but for them to have a fun, relaxed experience that will change their view on dentistry. I love calling Dental Touch Associates my JOB because its a fun place to come and be with great people that feel just like family.

When I am not at work, I enjoy coaching my kids in sports and helping them grow to be great individuals. I have two amazing, fun, energetic boys that kick my butt in todays video games. I have a wonderful wife, Karrie. When I am not with them, I enjoy golfing, competing in triathlons, and brewing beer.

I joined the Dental Touch team in 2002 fresh out of Kirkwood Community Colleges Dental Hygiene program. I was fortunate to be hired by such a great patient-centered office. Over the years, I have gained a broad range of experience and expanded my education beyond expectations. Dr. McLaughlin believes in the healing power of the Dental Hygienist. He has invested countless hours of intensive training in our staff for diode lasers, local anesthesia, micro-ultrasonic scalers, 3D cone beam scans, and digital x-rays. Working at this office has allowed us to provide some of the most advanced science-based patient care in the area. I love being able to provide this level of care to all of my patients on a daily basis.

I was born and raised with my four sisters in the Cedar Rapids area. My husband and I feel fortunate to be able to stay in a community where we can be close to both of our families. I attended the University of Iowa before starting their Dental Hygiene program. My husband and I have two adorable boys that love to do it all, and chronically keep us busy on our nights and weekends. We also have the cutest Cavapoo dog named Flash, named after our favorite superhero. Flash rarely gets left out and gets to join us for many of our kids sports activities as well as weekend adventures. During our free weekends, we enjoy spending time at Lake Delhi, tending to our acreage, hiking, traveling, and watching sporting events.

I am a certified dental assistant and have been a part of Dental Touch Associates since 2006. I earned my degree at Kirkwood Community College and graduated in 2006. Over the years, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our patients on a personal level and helping to give them an awesome dental experience every time they are in our office. What I love so much about working at Dental Touch is that the practice is completely geared toward patient comfort, and all of the technology and education the team has earned to keep that as a primary focus. Patients are like family, and so is the entire Dental Touch team!

I have been married to my husband Eric (yes, everyone jokes at the similarity in our names) since 2009. Together we have two girls Chloe and Braylee that keep us very busy with their activities. I love being a mom, and when I am not busy with kids activities, I enjoy shopping, running, talking, and spending time with family.

I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids. I earned a diploma in Dental Assisting from Kirkwood in 1999 and graduated with an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Dental Lab Technology in 2001. I continued my education even further to become one of the first Expanded Functions Dental Assistants back in 2005. For the last 20 years, I have been in the Cedar Rapids area, and in May 2021 I was blessed with the opportunity to join the Dental Touch team

My husband (Craig) and I met in 2014 at a Rough Riders hockey game. We share 3 children together, Violet, Jack, and Owen. On days that we are not running kids to an activity, we like to spend time with family and friends & do anything outdoors. I enjoy camping, fishing, cooking/baking (which my family and coworkers love), and doing little projects around the house.

I have had a love for dentistry for as long as I can remember, even doing College of Dentistry visits back in middle school. Smiling is proven to change ones body chemistry, and I love being a part of making beautiful smiles and improving ones self-esteem in the process!

I am a registered dental assistant and have been the patient coordinator for Dental Touch Associates since April of 2018. I have always been interested in dentistry and graduated from the dental assisting program at Kirkwood Community College.

It is great to be a part of a positive, friendly environment that really makes dentistry fun! I enjoy getting to know our patients and watching them leave happy and with more confidence than when they walked in. I truly believe that a beautiful smile can make a positive difference in a persons life.

My husband and I have three daughters, four chickens, and a dog that keep us busy. In my free time, I love spending time with friends and family, camping when weather permits, and going to the movies.

I am a registered dental assistant. I have been with Dental Touch and Associates since December of 2018! I was a dental assistant in Idaho for 17 years until we landed in Iowa. Its so rewarding to work with co-workers who are all working towards the same goal, of great patient care. My husband and I have 4 dogs. We love to be outside in the summer as we are die-hard baseball fans!

I grew up in the Cedar Rapids area and graduated from Linn Mar in 2017. I went to Hawkeye Community College and graduated as a registered dental hygienist in 2021. Following my graduation from Hawkeye Community College, I joined the Dental Touch Team.

Working at Dental Touch was my dream goal. Growing up as a Dental Touch patient, I was excited to be part of such an awesome team of people. I love helping educate others about proper oral hygiene alongside the same team that took such great care of me for so many years. While not at work, I love to hang out with family and friends.

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed in your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants are a wonderful option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease or an injury. Dental implants save the tooth a bit better than traditional bridgework because implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support.

Dental implants are natural-looking and feeling and can give you confidence about the look of your smile. You will no longer have to hide your smile because of spaces from missing teeth. If you have difficulty chewing, talking and would like to smile again with comfort and confidence, then dental implants may be the perfect solution for you. Under proper conditions (perfect placement by your implant dentist and diligent maintenance by you), your dental implants can last a lifetime, and studies are showing improving success rates for dental implants.

  • Endosteal (in the bone). This is the most common type of implant used, and each implant holds one or more prosthetic teeth. This type of implant is often used as an alternative for patients with bridges or removable dentures.
  • Subperiosteal (on the bone). These implants are placed on top of the jaw with the metal frameworks posts protruding through the gum to hold the prosthesis. These implants are used for patients who are unable to wear conventional dentures and who have minimal bone height.
  • Tooth-saving. Dental implants do not sacrifice the quality of adjacent teeth like a bridge does because neighboring teeth are not needed to support the implant. More of your own teeth are left untouched, which is a significant benefit to your overall oral health.
  • Aesthetic. Dental implants feel and look like your very own teeth. They also prevent bone loss and gum recession, which often accompany bridgework and dentures. No one will ever know that you have dental implants unless you tell them.
  • Sinus augmentation. A key to implant success is the quality and quantity of the bone where the implant is going to be placed. The upper back jaw has been one of the most difficult areas to successfully place dental implants due to insufficient bone quality and the close proximity to the sinuses. Sinus augmentation can help correct this problem by raising the sinus floor and developing bone for the placement of dental implants.
  • Ridge modification. To correct deformities in the upper and lower jaw that can leave you with inadequate bone in which to place dental implants, the gum is lifted away from the ridge to expose the bony defect. The defect is then filled with bone or bone substitute to build up the ridge. Ridge modification can increase your chances for successful implants.
  • As with any dental procedure, at-home oral care and regular visits to your dentists are necessary to keep your implant in place for many years. After dental implant treatment, your implant dentist will develop a care plan just for you to ensure your implant, teeth and gums remain healthy.

Was sad when I heard my longtime hygienist was gone last time I scheduled but really liked Sara(h) Sorry for misspell! She was so thorough and personable! Dr. McGlaughlin is easy going and all staff is friendly. Have been going to Dental Touch since the mid 90's and will likely always be a loyal customer.

Not always fun going to the dentist, especially when you have as many problems as I do, but you get treated like a person here and your treatment plan is always explained and ultimately your decision with no pressure.
