My husband was in a serious motorcycle accident in March 2020. He has been in and out of hospitals (mostly in) and acute rehab units ever since. I discovered Dr. Michaelis because he is also on staff as an oral surgeon at Hoag Hospital. My husband needed work. It was important that it get done while he was hospitalized because of his brain injury, respiratory status and partial paralysis, which definitely made it higher risk. Also, keeping his oral health is priority, and I didn't want there to be possible infection sites neglecting his dental needs, the poor guy's been through enough. Like superheroes, Dr. Michaelis immediately recognized that and he and his office manager made it happen quickly! He had a tight schedule and was very booked during that time (why wouldn't he be, he's that good) but he came in after hours and took excellent care of my husband! He then spent a lot of time post procedure, with us and has already been wonderful following up. He is not only an excellent oral surgeon, but embodies the genuine care and concern that everyone needing treatment deserves! (especially if you're the nervous, white knuckle type) Dr. Michaelis is our go to guy from now forward!

Doctor Michaelis is simply the best in the industry.. I refer any people I know that need a implant or other dental surgery needs because his reviews are at the top of the industry and he is a great person that won't heaitate to explain exactly what he is doing and why.. goes over options , provides videos, as well as alternatives. Highly recommend! Check his reviews out for yourself. There are times when you go to a regular dentist and there are times when you go to a surgeon who dedicated 6 years of school and training beyond basic dentistry practitioners.

Got my wisdom teeth yanked at age 33. A little behind the curve. His entire staff went out of their way to explain the procedure and in the end I made a decision to get 3 out of the 4 removed due to a risky nerve. If he hadn't asked me to get the extra scan I may have lost feeling in the my face. They are a fantastic professional office and doctor michalis is in a different league. I highly recommend.
