Gregory Arthur Cygan, DDS was born in Illinois and grew up wanting to be a dentist since the 8th grade. He spent time shadowing dentists and surgeons from the time he was in middle school. During high school he focused on developing an academic rigor and was accepted into the University of Illinois at Chicago, into the GPPA program, a special program that allows undergraduate students admission into advanced professional programs.
From 2006 to 2009, Dr. Cygan completed his Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in History, Cum Laude. Dr. Cygan went on to Dental school at UIC from 2009 to 2013. He gained a lot of experience treating patients and learning how to do dentistry. In 2014 he completed a General Practice Residency in Rochester, New York at the Strong Memorial Hospital and Eastman Institute of Oral Health.
After learning more about medically complex patients and working in the hospital, Dr. Cygan went on to practice general dentistry in Arlington Heights, IL for a year. Determined to advance his education in medicine further, he went on to an Oral Surgery Internship in Morgantown, West Virginia from 2015 to 2016. Gaining even more experience he went on to another Oral Surgery internship at the Louisiana State University from 2016-2017.
With his additional training in oral surgery, Dr. Cygan returned to Chicago, Illinois determined to provide excellent general dentistry for patients with an advanced understanding of oral surgery procedures. Dr. Cygan seeks to provide patients effective and comfortable treatment and improvement of oral health.

Overall I was very pleased with the Services that I received. I requested to have two teeth extracted and went in for a consultation and I was able to have everything taken care of in one trip. The Dr and assistants were all very professional and polite. I would definitely return there in the future if or when I need work done

He is such a good surgeon and the fact that he's young and cute didn't hurt at all. Make sure he shake your lip to distract the brain so the shots don't hurt

I have never been treated so professionally by any doctor. I had 7 teeth pulled out. I'm not liking the numbing shots , but I felt nothing. Oozing some, but not too bad. I would recommend that this is the best one. Thanks and God bless you all!!!

My appointment went very well. I had a tooth pulled and didn't even feel it. We discussed my future care and I was given many different options. I have already referred a couple people because my experience was pleasant. I am normally terrified of dental appointments but I was made very comfortable.

The Doctor's response to being called out for his office staff's mistake and lack of professionalism is to refer out to another office instead of answering to the insurance company's request for more information and apologizing for the mistakes. I would not recommend anyone go to a doctor that cannot submit proper insurance claims and care for their patients properly Good Afternoon Dr. Cygan, I spoke with DentalQuest and Blue Cross Blue Shield regarding my son's referral. I began an appeal because they stated that they did not have enough documentation to approve the referral. Please see the timeline below of what has transpired since our visit in February. Estimated Timeline: We came to your office in February after Noah's dentist at Iroquois Dental stated that he did not have enough room for his wisdom teeth and that the top impacted teeth were coming in at an angle that would not allow for safe eruption. I followed up on the referral 2-3 weeks later and was told BCBS/Dentaquest had not determined coverage. - This was FALSE as no request for service was sent in. I trusted your office and waited again. I followed up with your office again in early April and was told that it was resubmitted and I would receive a call/email back. My son broke his elbow in early April and while following up on a prior authorization for his elbow I was told there was NO REQUEST for wisdom teeth removal on file. I called your office VERY upset since it had been 2 months and nothing was filed with insurance even though I was told on 2 separate occasions that it had been filed and resubmitted. The insurance company called that same day while I was on the phone to make sure you had the right information to file the prior authorization/request for service. Fast Forward - to May 12, 2022, nearly 3 months after we visited I called to find out the status of the claim and your office advised it was denied and that you don't send in appeals. I spent 30 minutes or so on the phone with BCBS community/DentalQuest community to appeal the decision and was told that there wasn't enough documentation provided by Dental Surgeons LTD to make the determination - no notes regarding spacing issues, no notes regarding the angle at which the teeth are coming in and she couldn't find any x rays. X-rays were taken by Iroquois Dental and sent to your office and also taken when he visited in February both sets show there isn't enough room and the angle of the teeth on top is an issue. What they received was "just a very basic request to remove the wisdom teeth with IV Sedation" Your office told me TODAY that 40-60% of your prior authorizations are denied with BCBS community/DentalQuest, I asked while I was requesting the appeal if this is the case with all oral surgeons and she stated "the % of denials is much lower when a doctor submits office notes and x rays explaining the reason for the request" The original Prior Authorization Number is The Appeal Number is I look forward to hearing back from you once the documents are submitted. I came here for all 4 of my wisdom teeth to be removed. The staff and doctor cygan did an amazing job and helped me calm down when I was having my first ever surgery! they explained to me exactly what was going to happen in detail about the procedure and made sure I look out for complications. And the secretary luckily gave my bf a charger so that we can make it home on google maps :) so I just wanted to say thank you dr cygan and dental assistants for making my surgery an easy experience :)

Dr. Cygan & his staff are the best! The office is clean and beautiful! I got my wisdom teeth pulled. He was very attentive and considerate, made sure I was very comfortable. I drove 1 hour to come to this office!

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed it was relatively painless and we were done in less than 45 minutes from start to finish. Everyone was very kind and polite and made sure I was comfortable and there was no pain 10 out of 10 would recommend also the dentist is really cute.

This dental office is amazing! The whole team is welcoming and nice. The front desk was helpful and made sure I was well taken care of. The dental assistants were kind and made me feel at ease. Dr. Cygan is very skilled and professional. Everyone is caring and knowledgeable!! I would highly advise anyone looking for a new dentist to come give Dr. Cygan a visit.
