Dr. Fouad Al Malki has been practicing dentistry over 19 years with the last 10 years focused on endodontics. He is caring and personable, creating rapport with his patients, explaining procedures in terms his patients are able to easily understand. With a calming manner and compassion for his patients concerns, he performs highly skilled endodontic treatments, including root canal treatment and re-treatments under the microscope, micro-endodontic surgery, vital pulp and regenerative therapies.
A decorated officer, Dr. Lee has frequently held positions as the head of oral surgery for the U.S. Navy. He also served as the regional dental officer for Navy Medicine East, overseeing dental operations for the east coast and Europe.
Dr. Yeung graduated from Smith College, living and working in the biotechnology industry for six years prior to pursuing dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Howard University College of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, which is the highest level of achievement that dental students strive for. Dr. Yeung furthered her training with a General Practice Residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she gained great experience working with medically compromised patients.
Dr. Malki earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Damascus in Syria and continued his education by pursuing endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) Department of Endodontics in Philadelphia, PA. While at UPENN, Dr. Malki won the Grossman Award for outstanding proficiency in the endodontic graduate program and was a co-author of the Microsurgery in Endodontics text book.
When hes not saving teeth, Dr. Malki enjoys spending family time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys playing and listening to classic, Spanish guitar and classic rock music, and learning about the latest technology trends.
Dr. Colella was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Colella earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Alfred University and his D.M.D. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. He earned his M.D. from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. After completing his general practice residency at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD Dr. Colella completed residency for oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth.
Dr. Colella is board certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Virginia Society of Oral & Facial Surgeons. Its obvious that Dr. Colella loves and enjoys his work. He loves challenging cases and the ability to help others.

Let me start with I am not a fan of going to the dentist but I was very pleased with the work I had to have completed. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Malki. My first appointment was a consultation and then my second was my procedure for a root canal. I waited a while before doing my review in case I was in pain or something didn't go right but everything was perfect. I read what to expect and planned accordingly. The dentist made jokes as well as his assistant to calm the atmosphere. I told him what I didn't like about the dentist and he understood and did his best to walk through the process with me as he completed everything. Most of all I really appreciated that he showed me the X-Rays and told me what to expect at our follow up on 6 months.

It was my first time and this Dental Specialty Center and I had a great experience. Everyone made me feel welcomed and I didn't feel nervous about anything. My process went smoothly and I would like to give a huge thanks to Raneaka. She is a wonderful person, she is very relatable, and I was able to be relaxed around her. This Dental Specialty Center is great and I definitely recommend it.

Dr. Colella and the team are fantastic. My right lower wisdom tooth somehow cracked and became infected and I deeply dreaded the enviable extraction of it and the upper tooth. He and his staff made me feel safe and at ease, and I was kept comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire procedure. It was accomplished so wonderfully with very little pain and in such a timely manner. True professionals with a patient friendly focus. I highly recommend this practice.

Got my wisdom teeth removed here, very nice location. They communicated great about when my appointment was and what was expected of me as well as them. Although i was very anxious they made sure someone was there to hold my hand. The procedure was quick as well, maybe 20 minutes, and after 4 days I was back to work and 2 weeks other back to normal with no problems. 5 stars!!

Absolutely loved this office! Dr. Colella is amazing and makes you feel at ease! His assistants Olivia, Lilly and Keanna were all super nice and all made me feel comfortable with what we were doing from my consult to my surgery! Not to mention the amazing front desk girls! They explained all my treatment and insurance throughly!! Highly recommend this office!!

I can't say enough good things about this office. I'm always a nervous wreck when I go to have any kind of dental work done, but every time I've been in, everyone has been SO friendly, competent, and kind. I've had a root canal and dental implant surgery done here, and I can confidently say that I wouldn't go anywhere else. My experiences have been absolutely amazing.

I came to Dental Specialty Center of Virginia Beach for a root canal. Dr.Malki and his assistant Raneaka were the perfect team. They both made sure that I was ok during the whole procedure. Everything went along perfectly. The day after my procedure Dr.Malki even called to check on me. I strongly recommend Dental Specialty Center of Virginia Beach. I generally don't do reviews, but my experience was so good with Dr. Almalki and his hygienist Rose (don't call her Rosie). They were extremely professional, comforting and funny. I've given doc the a.k.a. Dr. Picasso. The best root canal I've ever had.. Great experience!

The entire staff was delightful to work with. The front desk professionals were more that happy to answer all my questions. The dental assistants were all caring and compassionate, making my 11 y/o feel comfortable going in to have root canals done. I can't say enough about Dr Malki, he was friendly, caring and I was most impressed how he spoke to my 11y/o, explaining everything he was going to do rather than speaking over her to speak to me. I hope we don't have to have any specialty dental work done in the future, but this is where we will go if we do.
