Some people have a large frenum that limits tongue movement and can interfere with speech. The condition of limited tongue mobility is called ankyloglossia, or tongue tie. Tongue-tie is generally diagnosed in childhood and symptoms include:

Dr. Miles Madison entered the University of Southern California at the young age of sixteen, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences in 1985. He then attended UCLA School of Dentistry where he again graduated with top honors and was the recipient of numerous academic awards.
Dr. Madison went on to specialize in Periodontology at UCSF (University of California at San Francisco) where he became one of the youngest graduating periodontists in the United States. Dr. Madison possesses a warm and friendly chair-side manner, and it is his innate warmth, patience and sincerity that make the difference in his care.
Dr. Madison is board certified in I.V. sedation, and hypnosis. He is also the innovator of numerous advanced techniques, and lectures nationally to other dentists and periodontists. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards throughout his remarkable career. His passion for education is exemplified in his position as a Visiting Lecturer at UCLA School of Dentistry, his status on the California Board of Dental Examiners General Anesthesia, and as a Conscious Sedation Evaluator.
In addition to all of this, Dr. Madison is a member of several dental organizations such as the American Academy of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontology, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Los Angeles Dental Society, and the American Association for Dental Research. In addition to his Lancaster, CA practice, he also has a practice in Beverly Hills, California focusing on Periodontics, Periodontal Plastic Surgery and Implant surgery.

I must say this is one of the best children's dental office experience we have ever had. We drove 5 hours to get my 6 year Old teeth taken care of. The staff is amazing. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, they are quick and efficient. Dr was amazing and spoke to us like humans and acknowledged our questions and concerns.. explained everything well and seem to really know how to handle children. As a pediatric specialist should. We have had some very unreal experiences with the kids dentist.. what a breath of fresh air and we will def be returning. Thank you!!

I just want to say that my experience was phenomenal! And that is all thanks to Crystal! I had the best experience getting a deep cleaning by her. She took her time, she was very professional, efficient and attentive! I've had deep cleanings before and they were very painful but she has changed my views on dental care because she really does CARE! I will never forget that experience! Terrible place!!! Dont take your kids to this place. The dentist assistant was very rude when taking my little daughter's x-rays. If your kid needs a treatment they will strap them up this should be illegal. I could hear in the room nextdoor the assistant threating a little boy if he wouldn't stop biting her, she will strap him down to the chair. I will report them this is not the way to treat little kids.

My grandson had the worse experience here..first they gave relaxer,,then papoose him then gave him nutri gas .that's suppose to make them laugh..i.ve never seen any kid come out laughing..had a metal head brase.with no padding..what's up with that..he was in a panic .they don't let parents in..i went in to calm him down and they through me out ..Now thats Abuse.their to cheap to get a perfesional to Montor ,,kids vitals so they can be put under ,when their giving kids all this..Their lic. Needs to be revoulked. strape your butt down and see if you dont panic.. Discussing.so disappointed ..

I took my son who has Autism here and everyone was vary helpful and vary patient with my son taking there time to deal with him even while he was throwing a fit they where vary calm with him giving him stickers and saying how good he was. Everyone there from the front end desk to the actual dentist was vary patient and just overall a great dentist expierence. I would definitely recommend this place...

The staff and Dr. Kohan are always incredibly understanding and accommodating to me and my child's needs. My Child has a myriad disorder that makes even a simple cleaning a thing of worry but they listen to my concerns and try their best to prevent any complications. Belinda (cant remember last name) always reassures me and has a way of soothing my dental phobia when i arrive. The entire front desk are also incredibly polite with a very friendly attitude. Thank you so much

Scheduled an appointment for my daughter in July, the soonest available was 8/17. Wasn't excited about waiting a month for an appointment but decided to stick with it because this is the office she went to last time. Told the receptionist that I would be sending her in with my mother in law when getting my appointment reminder because I just had a c section. They told me that I would have to come I. To sign a note in order to allow her to do that. I'm disappointed that I've waited a month to find that the dentist absolutely refuses to see her if I don't do such. As I am currently very unavailable, my husband is working, and my daughter has been there before, I was hoping they would work with me. They will not allow me to come in with my newborn and my older daughter that has the appointment. The lack of communication and willingness to work with people has frustrated me enough that I will not be returning to this office.

Amazing service, my kids love this place. The staff is super sweet and took care of all of our needs and answered all our questions. The doctors were gentle with my kids and talked us though the procedures step-by-step. My kids normally are afraid of the dentist, but we had no issues here! I also scheduled my appointment here for OS and had a great experience. Would recommend to anyone.

Never had my appointment with OS; just a simple X-Ray done and out the door I was--with 3 wisdom teeth needed to be extracted and swollen. Moral of this story: do not visit this practice for oral surgery; I had numerous occasions, over the phone and in person, where I had to reschedule appointments over the course of two months due to the OS's availability. I am now in the process of transferring my case to another practice due to lack of communication between patient, staff, and the OS. Numerous times I asked for information about the dentist, who visits each month, but on one, only day of the month for his patients. Never, not even once was I given his name, his direct line for pain management, or his availability for following months. Bad experience, obviously. I urge those those who are looking for oral surgery should seek other places besides Dental Specialty Care. I would not suggest this practice for those seeking dental treatment besides those who have children--they have good reviews for the kiddos--but this practice needs to reevaluate oral surgery schedules for adults, too, because this is one of the few practices that is covered by Denti-Cal who provide OS.

The staff was very nice but my personality didn't mesh with the dentist. I'm going to ask for a female when I make my next appointment. Its just my personal preference.
