I give 5 stars to this dental surgery center. I had an appointment on September 27 for the extraction of my tooth. I got the referral for this extraction from my provider dentist dr.Sameh Aknouk. I am very grateful to the doctor( unfortunately I don't know his name) who was checking me in this day, for the fact that he refused to remove my tooth and said that I need to make root canal and that I need and can to save this tooth. This doctor is very professional and decent person. I want to say him THANK YOU VERY MUCH for this.

This clinic is a SCAM ! I went there twice and both experiences was terrible. The first time was for a wisdom tooth removal when they convinced me I needed a bone graft and charge me $700. They wouldn't even send a referral to my insurance I was told "My insurance does not cover bone graft" . I paid them $700 and for them to only be rude. Once my tooth was removed the dentist and dental assistant walked out no words just left me sitting there with the sheet still around my neck. I couldn't believe how unprofessional they were. I then went back a couple months later for my #13 tooth removal again my insurance cover this procedure l came with my approval letter. They mention a bone graft again! But this time the price was $950! now from my understanding bone grafts are for implants which I was not getting. They refused to do the procedure without the bone graft and that is when I said enough is enough and left. Fast forward I went to a dentist through Montefiore and the service was so much better. My tooth was removed with no issue and he didn't even mention me "needed a bone graft" I wish I would of went there first before giving these people my money. SCAM! SCAM!

Good evening, I do not write reviews , but I need you ALL to know before coming here.... The reason why they have such horrible and great reviews is because they have different dentist that are completely opposite. I went for 1 thing and that dentist was amazing. He was friendly and funny and even if he didn't care he acted like he did. Now I went again for something else. They charged me for something I am now sure I did not need. Staff was complaining about being REALLY behind. Which made sense since I was there waiting for 2 hours. The Dentist put in the anesthesia. He did not wait for the appropriate time before starting to work. I've had other work done. Dentist will usually check if the anesthesia worked. They'll tug at your mouth or tap your teeth. They will wait at least 20 minutes after anesthesia to start work. This dentist did not check if I was was numb. He told me lie back when I thought this was too check if I was numb he went for my tooth. I started screaming and crying and he told his 1 assistant to hold my head down and the other to close the door. They wanted me in and out to get to the next patient. No matter how behind you are. No Procedure should get to that point. These are peoples lives , pain ,and finances. You can't just treat us like this and expect there not to be consequences. You can't make this up. DONT come here. Pls do not come here. Get a second opinion. I wish I did instead of being fooled because I was in so much pain I needed the tooth out and they took advantage. I will be coming for you.

This is a Dental Specialty in the heart of Medical hub of Gunhill Rd. The administration staff is very friendly and hospitable, also the dental assistants. My reason for giving 2 stars is the Oral Surgeon that works there, he's a autocratic, egotistical individual..who doesn't listen to his patients and talk down to clients. Plus hes very rude.

The customer service agent was such a jerk at the Bronx office! I am in so much pain, trying to make an appointment over the phone and he hung up the phone on me because I did not know the tooth number I need for my root canal. I can barely even talk due to my pain. Such a horrible human being, he needs to be fired. A bad representation of this dentist office. A hole!

Although the experience was good I have now received a bill. They claimed that my insurance was accepted there when they are not all they will do is submit the claim which in turn your ins will not pay...I just received this notice and I'm very upset for w almost 2000. Out of pocket

I gave one star because it did not allow me to give none. I called the BRONX branch at Gun Hill Road. The receptionist who took my call was a guy. He seem like he was faking his so called professionalism why he took my call. I felt that his tone was passive aggressive. I'm sure he rolled his eyes throughout the call. I felt rushed and sometimes he spoke over me. I called another oral surgeon office to book my appointment and gave the same information needed that I gave to this guy and they took care of me right away. The lady was professional and very patient. @dentalspecialtiesofthebronxbranch you need to give a workshop/training to your employees on professionalism and how to manage patients phone calls.

I'm a reviewer reading comments for a place I have been referred too but, haven't been there yet. I'm making a comment because these reviews are very conflicting and as a person that suffers from anxiety and panic attacks these comment are unnerving. If people are going to make negative comments like one I read saying that it's like the attitudes at DMV & then has a better experience 2nd time around; how about telling the reader what day it was that you had the good day. Another comment says they wanted to charge out of pocket. This doesn't help because 1st you need to do your homework. Call you healthcare Insurance & check if they're in your network as well as what your plan covers. No office should be asking anyone to pay out of pocket! If they do immediately right there & then call your healthcare insurance, tell them what they are asking of you. I'm sure the attitude & service will change. And last but not least if it's that bad why even take the chance. I'd just walk away. Here's the thing; seniors, and the elderly are reading these reviews and, regardless of giving them 1 star & saying you'd give them 0 stars if you could, doesn't tell the reader why exactly would you give them NO stars if you could; it doesn't help because the amount of good reviews will just confuse the reader. Especially, a person like me who has been referred to this location to see a periodontist due to gum disease. A detailed well informed review will actually make us think "Should I check for myself, are they really as bad and should I take a chance?" so that thought through decision can be made. It doesn't matter who gives a 0 star or 5 star, the proof in your detailed experience with names and the day you encountered it, is what counts for me. In addition, in reviews where only the "Good Reviews" get a response is a NO GO for me. Thank you for your attention,

I gave it a one because there is not a zero but this place is very unprofessional. I went on a Wednesday paid $1,600 for a implant not including the crown just the screw implant and I was still in a lot of pain with swelling 5 days later so I called the gentleman who I spoke with stated my doctor was not there so I asked if I can speak with someone else and he said no and told me if I thought he was a magician if I thought he can just have my doctor appear. All I wanted was to speak with someone because I was afraid I was getting a infection. I asked if there was a doctor on call or anyone who can assist me and he said they don't have my chart and I would have to wait until Wednesday. So my take on this is if a patient is having a dental emergency they are not willing to help after they have taken your money they are also very rude and unprofessional.

If I could give a 0 stars I would. Worst experience with this place. I had to get a bone draft surgery due to a bad infection. i go to this place and they wanted to do the surgery same day and a girl name heather she left the room to check if my insurance covers this procedure. she literally comes back 2 minutes after and told me that my insurance did not cover for a 1,500 procedure. she took my card and charged me. after that it was done, i called my insurance and they said Dental Specialties never reached out to them in the first place. i've been back and forth with this place for over a month and they still have not refunded me. My insurance informed me that they had already paid for this. The Manager cookie said she called the insurance and they said they did not cover, i had to call the insurance myself and place them on a three way in other for them to confirmed if this was covered or not. I was back and forth with her for 3 weeks and she always was going to call me back and never did. after i told her i was going to dispute it with my bank she got scared and had heather call me. heather called me and said she was going to call me back latest Friday and this was two Fridays ago. i dispute it with my bank and sent them proof. i don't usually write bad reviews but i feel like everyone should know about this place and not to go there. They need to retrain their staff and cookie and heather HAVE TO GO!!!
