Dr. Polo was born and raised in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He was originally trained at University Francisco Marroquin School of Dentistry in Guatemala City, where he received his Bachelor in Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree with Cum Laude Honors in 2003. He moved to the United States in 2004 and completed an additional three and a half years of Residency in Advanced Prosthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry, and the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, in Birmingham, Alabama. At that time Dr. Polo also obtained his Master of Science Degree in Clinical Dentistry in 2007.
Dr. Polo was part-time faculty at UAB School of Dentistry in the Comprehensive Care Department from 2005 to 2007, teaching in the fixed and removable prosthodontics department as clinical instructor for freshman and senior undergraduate dental students. He enjoyed giving time and effort back to an institution that has been so personally influential to him.
In 2008 Dr. Polo moved to Winter Haven, Florida and joined Dr. Robert M. Atkins at his practice, were he worked for several years as an associate. In December 2010 he took over the practice with his partner Dr. Jose Cruz and started Dental Solutions of Winter Haven, P.L.C. Their vision was to create a dental practice that would benefit the community and the patients.
Dr. Cruz holds active membership in numerous professional associations including American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association and the Polk County Dental Association. He stays up-to-date with the most current concepts of the practice of dentistry, with particular emphasis on caries prevention, esthetics, endodontic and implant restoration. Currently he serves as membership Treasurer for the Polk County Dental Association.
Dr. Cruz resides in Winter Haven and has been serving the patients in Central Florida since 2007. His wife, Dr. Tiffany Chen, is a Board Certified pediatric dentist at Bright Smiles of Winter Haven. They have one child, one on the way and a puppy named Foofy. During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling and coaching competitive youth soccer.

I never thought I would say I had a great experience having a tooth extraction but I did. Dr. CRUZ IS AMAZING ! He has a great bedside or should I say chair side manor. He has a way of making you feel comfortable. He is very knowledgeable of his craft. His staff is just as great. They are compassionate and attentive. I didnt feel a thing. Thanks to his new technology he has a device he uses that you don't feel the pinch of the numbing injections. I couldn't beleive when he said it was over. Great job and thanks to him and his staff. I will be returning to him for future dental work. Book with hin for your pain free dental work. Dr. Cruz is also Bilingual if your looking for a Spanish speaking dentist he is the one. These people are not pushing all types of dental work and throwing numbers around and plans. He took care of the problem first.

First time ever going and it was a great first experience. Staff is friendly and polite and takes the time to answer your questions and make sure you understand what is needed. Treatment Coordinator Lydia took her time to make sure I knew all my options for payment and what would be best for me. Dr. Jose Cruz was a great dentist. I found this company based off their reviews and so far they do live up to it. Not to mention the great water views from the windows while you are sitting in the chair.

Appointment time was supposed to be at 11 am, however the dentist was holding a meeting that delayed my appointment by 20 minutes. This was not Lisa's fault. The dentist should be more considerate of the Patient's time.

My family has been going to Dental Solutions of Winter Haven for many years. Every employee makes you feel special and welcomed. Lisa is the only one we would let clean our teeth. The best place to go for the dentist. The staff and the doctors and super nice and professional. I love the view to the lake all the time. The facility is very clean. The only problem is they don't have a lot of parking lots available but besides that, they are great.
