Dr. Kourtsounis or Dr. K is a pediatric dentist originally from Long Island. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1998. After graduation, he returned to Maryland where his family had moved and was accepted into the top ranked University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2003.
In 2006, Dr. Kourtsounis was accepted into the pediatric dentistry specialty at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He served as chief resident and helped author various publications, which appeared in local and nationwide dental journals.
Dr. Kourtsounis has continued to stay on at Mount Sinai as an attending faculty and has dedicated his free time to teaching at the residency and performing dental rehabilitation cases in the operating room under general anesthesia.
Dr. Kourtsounis and his wife have a six-year-old son who is also very interested in becoming a dentist like his dad. He is a diehard Chicago Blackhawks and NHL fan, and a car enthusiast who enjoys racing his car on the weekends

My daughter was always the kid that cried at the dentist office. Her previous experiences with other providers, def left a mark there. I was a bit stress about it because you don't want your kid crying and anxious. At this facility; she had such a great experience that she cried 30 seconds the most and left with a smile and thanking everyone there. The Hygenist was so sweet and took the time to show all the steps and how things worked, she made my daughter feel at peace and the dentist, although, was a quick visit; he was sweet and very friendly. Something that made me feel at ease. Totally recommend this place for kiddos

The staff was very friendly. As soon as you walk, it looks very welcoming and clean. The dentist was nice & patient with my two year old! As it was her first appointment and she was hesitant to open her mouth

Called to make an appointment for my kid, 15 minutes after they FINALLY answered after being sent to voicemail numerous times the very rude receptionist offered me some dates and when I had told her to give me a minute I need to check my calendar she says "call back when you're ready I have other phone calls to answer" I did not make her wait, I was not rude, I answered all her questions respectfully. Please get better receptionists, a receptionist is the face of the place and the doctors are the ones who come recommended.

Having twins with very dissed different personalities can make it an interesting experience at the dentist. My daughter absolutely had the best time ever as she got to lay back in the big yellow chair and ride up high into the sky. She laughed hysterically as the brush tickled her teeth as her teeth got cleaned. My son did not have the same experience. Unfortunately his anxiety caused him to worry about everything and anything he saw. Fortunately, Ms. Audrey was able to ease his mind by keeping a calm tone and engaged him by pretending to be animals or be silly to help him take his X-rays. She helped keep him from getting more agitated and we were able to complete his visit. The dentist we had was amazing at showing my children what they were going to experience and gave me immediate feedback and next steps. Ms. Audrey gave the perfect stickers to put big smiles on their faces.

It was my son's first experience at the dentist as a three year old and he was bucking like a wild horse but the dentist did a phenomenal job and used strategies to help him feel relaxed. It was successful thank you I appreciate these dentists.
