Dr. Tandy was born and raised in Westchester County, NY. She attended college at SUNY University at Albany, and then graduated from UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School (now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) in 1997.
After graduation, Dr. Tandy joined the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Florida, North Dakota, Texas and Georgia during her nine years of service. Her education in periodontics was completed at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She received her certificate of periodontics and her Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences in June 2003.
As a resident, Dr. Tandy won first place in regional, national and international competitions for her research on the response of bone cells to implant surfaces in the presence of estrogen. Successfully challenging the American Board of Periodontology, she earned her Diplomate status in May 2004. In March 2011, Dr. Tandy became a certified LANAP practitioner to be able to offer her patients the latest and most modern treatment option for periodontal disease. Dr. Tandy lives in Gilbert with her one cat, Siggi, and her two Papillion comfort animals, Ravi and Dharma.
