Dr. Cristoforo moved to Wisconsin from Garden City, New York, and in 2015merged his practice with Dr. Kenneth Neidhart. He was drawn to the Madison area by the opportunity to practice in a high-level clinical environment, working together with other doctors to provide optimal patient care. His primary professional interests are the treatment of periodontal disease, dental implants, and dental esthetics. Working within a team concept, Dr. Cristoforo looks forward to providing cutting-edge care for patients who require a multi-disciplinary approach.
Dr. Cristoforo is a respected leader in the field of Periodontics. He has been voted one of Madison's topDentists from 2017 to 2020. He has served on the prestigious Committee on Clinical Practice of the American Academy of Periodontology and is a Past President of both the New York State Society of Periodontists and the Long Island Academy of Periodontics. Dr. Cristoforo shares his knowledge of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry through his professional publications and lectures, and he has held teaching positions at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, and Nassau University Medical Center.
Outside of work, Dr. Cristoforo enjoys spending time with his wife, Stella, and their three children. Dr. Cristoforo, an avid sports fan, looks forward to returning to the Midwest, where he studied as both an undergraduate and dental student. He especially looks forward to the unique lifestyle the Madison area offers, as well as being close to many family members who reside in the Midwest.
Dr. Carmosino was born and raised in Erie, PA. He practiced as a general dentist in Erie for two years, prior to moving to Chicago to complete his specialty training in Periodontology with an emphasis ondental implantology. Dr. Carmosino moved to Madison in 2016 after practicing in the Northshore area of Chicago, and has been a Periodontist In the Madison community since that time. Professionally, Dr. Carmosino strives to provide thorough, comprehensive care in collaboration with a patient's medicaland dental team. He enjoys helping patients understand their periodontal condition. Thisunderstanding includes a thorough explanation of the diagnosis and all treatment options from basicdisease control to ideal comprehensive care. Treatment recommendations are rooted in the bestavailable evidence as well as what Dr. Carmosino would recommend to a friend or family member.
Dr. Carmosino has held several leadership roles throughout his dental training. He was Class President of his dental school class for four years, and also served as Chief Resident in his final year of his specialty training. During his residency, he collaborated on a paper that was published in the Journal ofPeriodontology. Dr. Carmosino was formerly a clinical faculty member at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry, where he actively engaged in training dental students. Since moving toMadison, he has given several presentations to local study clubs on topics including: dental implants,esthetic periodontal surgery, and treatment of periodontal disease.Dr. Carmosino and his wife, Seema, live in Madison. They have two young children and enjoy exploring all that Madison has to offer. Dr. Carmosino has played racquetball and water polo for many years, and is interested in cooking and honing his gardening skills.
