TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Congestion, construction and accidents cause frequent traffic delays on I-75 and access roads. Students, faculty, staff and visitors to SCF campuses are advised to allow extra travel time.

State College of Florida has had an active, vibrant theatre program since 1965. Students have opportunities in both performance and technical areas of theatre. Both students planning a career in theatre or who simply enjoy theatre are welcome and encouraged to participate as are community members. With auditions open to everyone, SCF is the regions resource for theatre education and community enrichment.

Four productions take place annually, including comedies, dramas, mysteries and more. All shows take place in theDavid S. & Anne V. Howard Studio Theatrelocated at SCF Bradenton. Staged by professional directors, who also serve as full-time and adjunct faculty, students benefit from learning and performing in a state-of-the-art venue.

SCF Theatre produces four fully staged plays per year. Students work alongside professional directors and designers in a wide range of styles including dramatic, comedic, classical and absurd. Auditions are also open to community members. During the two-year period a student is with SCF Theatre, they will have the opportunity to participate in eight productions encompassing multiple roles: Acting, stage management, house management, set and costume construction, design and run crew. SCF Theatre is truly 'hands-on' experience!

Established in 1957, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is the region's first and largest public college, serving 11,000 college credit students annually at campuses in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch and Venice, and via online classes. Another 14,000 participants annually attend professional development and personal enrichment classes. The College has graduated more than 50,000 students since 1959.

SCF is a dynamic College dedicated to meeting the educational and workforce training needs of citizens and businesses in the region. SCF has expanded its mission to include workforce baccalaureate degrees while continuing to focus on highly respected associate degrees that prepare graduates for university transfer and professional careers.

The Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development Division offers year-round noncredit classes in workforce training, small business development, professional development, personal enrichment and driving safety through workshops, seminars, online classes and on-site training programs at area businesses.

Broadening the continuum of education, the College opened a collegiate charter school in fall 2010. The school enables students to complete high school and receive their Associate in Arts degree simultaneously.

The College is a member of the Association of Florida Colleges, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the American Association of Community Colleges and the Florida Association of Colleges and Universities.
