Dr. Brian Van Slooten was born and raised in New Jersey. He attended Villanova University, where he studied biology and economics. Dr. Van Slooten received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he obtained honors in prosthodontics and finished third in the class his final year. He then completed a General Practice Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, receiving advanced training in periodontal, pediatric, implant, and cosmetic dentistry. Exhibiting the qualities of a lifelong learner, Dr. Van Slooten has earned more than 500 hours of continuing education since graduation.
After his residency, Dr. Van Slooten ran a dental practice with his father, Dr. Van Slooten, Sr. In the spring of 2014, Dr. Van Slooten and his family moved to Northern Virginia. Dr. Van Slooten performs all aspects of general dentistry, including implants, root canals, orthodontics, periodontics, and full-mouth cosmetic reconstruction. Dr. Van Slooten is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, as well as the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and Northern Virginia Dental Society..
Dr. Van Slooten has participated in several mission trips to underprivileged areas in Teec Nos Pos, AZ, Johns Island, SC, the Australian Outback, and most recently Kingston, Jamaica. Recently, Dr. Van Slooten participated in ABCs 7 On Your Side- Ask The Dentist event, assists the Northern Virginia Dental Societys Community Outreach Committee, and is partnered with the Medical Care for Children Partnership (MCCP) by providing services to children in his Falls Church office who otherwise would not have access to dental care.
Dr. Van Slooten enjoys creating happy, healthy smiles and, by getting to know you, is able to customize dental care specifically towards your individual needs. His primary focus is on prevention and patient education. By applying advanced technology and simple techniques, future dental needs can be prevented and functional, aesthetic results are obtained.

Bonnie is a NOVA native and While she is an amazing Dental Assistant here a dental Health Center; She is aspiring to become a dental hygienist and is currently attending hygiene school at Northern Virginia Community College. In her spare time, Bonnie enjoys Photography and does photography for weddings in her spare time.
Flor started as a dental assistant 16 years ago with Dr. Lazour. Since then, Flor has received additional advanced training to learn expanded functions. Flor assists with all aspects of dentistry including dental implants and oral surgery. She is certified in Opalescence in-office whitening system as well as EZ White. Flor is lead team member of the Dental Health Center of Northern Virginia and has been with us since the beginning. She is hands on and enjoys helping anxious patients feel comfortable. When not assisting, Flor enjoys yoga and hiking.
Heather was born in New Hampshire but grew up in Virginia. She started as a dental assistant back in 2006 and graduated hygiene school in 2012. Outside of work, she is loving life raising two handsome boys.

Joseline has been in the dental field for more than ten years. She started as a dental assistant and is now the office manager at the Dental Health Center of Northern Virginia. Joseline is an insurance specialist and will be able to assist you with any questions about how to maximize your benefits. She considers our patients family and enjoys getting to everyone that comes into our office. In her free time, Joseline enjoys going on long walks with her dog Charlie, and interior decorating.
Juan started in the dental field as a dental assistant in 2008. He joined the Dental Health Center of Northern Virginia in 2017 as an administrative assistant while attending dental hygiene school. Juan graduated from hygiene school in 2018 and has been a great addition to our hygiene department. In his spare time, Juan enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and traveling with his wife and Australian Shepherd Beau.
Samantha is the newest member of the Dental Health Center of Northern Virginia. She recently moved to Alexandria from upstate New York. Sam has quickly fallen in love with the dental field and enjoys being a dental assistant. We are excited to have her as part of our family.

Great staff up front, so very helpful and friendly. Kevin did an amazing job with my deep cleaning. I even missed an appointment due to an honest mistake on my part, and they were kind enough not to charge me the $100 (thanks Beth). Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit!! 5/5

I wanted to thank the Doctor for not giving up on my husband !! He needs the work done and may be a litter nervous but also never puts himself first ! Amazing doctors and really caring that's what this world needs .. will post more updates when hubby has his next visit !! Can't wait to see his smile again !

I love this place. I've been coming here for the last few years and wish I had known about this office sooner. All of the hygienists are fantastic, but Elle is my go-to. She's super gentle and extremely thorough. My teeth have never felt so clean before. Dr. Van Slooten is amazing; he breaks things down and explains them in a way you can easily understand. He really takes his time with you to make sure you're comfortable with any work that needs to be done. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would without a doubt.

Highly recommend! I was looking for a new dentist and found this practice based on good reviews. The positive reviews are real - And if you can get an appointment with Juan, do it. Extremely professional and personable. The setup and tools are modern and there's a giant screen in front so you can see everything mirrored on it. No salesy up-sells - just solid dentistry in a higher tech environment.

Full disclosure: i do not like going to the dentist, however, if i had to go to any dentists office for the rest of my life it would be DHCN. The staff are all homies, and always make me feel so comfortable! i always leave feeling taken care of, and my teeth love me for it. Been going here for over two years and I always recommend it to all my friends looking for new dental care! live, luv, Dental Health Center of Northern VA. (it's also right next to a sweet frog for a treat after getting your tooths taken care of!)

I was nervous about my first visit and was blown away by the attentiveness of the staff and the beauty of the space. Juan is a wizard of a dental hygienist and I don't think my teeth and gums have ever receive such good attention. I am still getting over my before and after pictures of my first cleaning and am actually excited about the plan they have set for me.

We were looking for a new dentist since we moved to the Falls church area and were lucky enough to stumble upon DHCVA. The staff is all incredibly friendly and just overall great. I never thought I'd say these words but Juan gave me the absolute most thorough and incredible cleaning I've ever had in my life. I normally dislike going to the dentist but he was so awesome and could not have been better at his job. He talked me through everything and went above and beyond. If you come here, you NEED to see Juan! Prior to my cleaning, my husband had already been a patient so I had visited Dr. Brian Van Slooten to fix a cracked filling which he immediately fixed. He was efficient and did a great job. He also informed me about some issues which my prior dentists had neglected to inform me of. The office is super clean and there's free parking in the garage. We will be definitely be patients for years to come and recommend this practice if you're looking for a new dentist in the FC area!

I have been going to Dental Health Center of Northern Virginia for 3 years now. After trying a few dentists in the area, it was great finding a dentist office that was trustworthy, modern, clean, and efficient. Also, all of the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this practice!

I was referred to this practice by multiple co-workers of mine. I was completely blown away by the professionalism, care, and expertise of my hygienist, Juan. He made me feel completely at ease and explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. He was thorough and knowledgeable and corrected me on my dental routine without making me feel dumb. Dr. Van Slooten was wonderful as well and did not push me towards multiple procedures (as the previous dental practice I belonged to had done). One very happy patient here!

It's an excellent dental practice. The hygienists take good care, and do the cleanings quickly and thoroughly. I haven't needed any actual dental work done other than cleanings and X-rays. The practice observes good Covid precautions. I've been going here for a few years and highly recommend it.
