In the more than 45years Ive been a dentist, Ive had the opportunity to see the industry change from a practice and technology standpoint. I applaud my fellow dentists who have, like us, have been willing to invest their time and resources into leading-edge technology developed specifically for our industry. Embracing this technology has allowed my partners and me the ability to continuously offer the very best care and options for our patients.

Knowing the way I practice today was much different than the way I practiced in the past and may be different fromthe way Ill practice in the future is exciting. Having invested in next-generation equipment and learning new techniques and approaches to practice dentistry are a few of the many things that keep me excited about practicing; another is my patients.

Ive been blessed to have one of my children join me in my practice. The day my son became Dr. Jonathan Falkowski was a pivotal moment in my career. Suddenly, I was consulting with the same boy, now man, I used to coach in traveling baseball and say nightly prayers to. Practicing with Jonathan gave our staff and me a new and different kind of energy that has continued to benefit the practice. Dr. Falkowski

Dr. Jon S. Falkowski grew up in Northeast Minneapolis and attended DeLaSalle High School. He received his undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, which makeshim a total Gopher, through and through. He opened his Dakota Countydental practice in 1975.

Dr. Falkowski has a long history of working in the community. He initiated Childrens Dental Health Month (February) in 1976 in the Farmington elementary schools and has screened literally thousands of elementary school students. In addition, he plays a role at his alma mater, De La Salle, by creating scholarships for future young men and women students. He enjoys giving back to the establishments that played a role in shaping his future. He has also been voted Top Dentist by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine for the past several years and is one of a few dentists to achieve honor-roll status.

The art of dentistry is constantly changing. Dr. Falkowski regards continuing education as a must to stay on the cutting edge. He remains current bytaking continuing education courses, especially in sleep apnea, cosmetics, and CEREC crown technology. In addition, he is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Saint Paul District Dental Society, American Sleep andBreathing Academy, American Academy of Facial Esthetics and Cerecdoctors.

Dr. Falkowski and his wife Cindy have been married for nearly 40years. He views her asthe perfect combination of Martha Stewart, Mary Poppins, and a drill sergeant. Her organizational skills have been instrumental in our office development. The couplehasbeen blessed with four children, 11 grandchildren, and four grand Labradors one of which you could call the practices resident pup, Eddie. If youre a patient, its likely youve seen him wagging his tail around the office.

Whether hes having family over for Grammys homemade pizza or coaching his grandsons baseball team, time with family is always priceless to Dr. Falkowski. Pheasant hunting and endurance sports such asrunning, biking, and triathlon training have always been a part of his life. Lately, if it is not snowing outside, you can usually find Dr. Falkowski on a golf course.

Dentistry allows me to create countless lasting relationships with my patients. I really enjoy getting to them and put myself out there for patients to be able to truly know me. Ask our patients and theyll let you know that I have a reputation in our office of taking too long to talk about their hunting stories or unique vacation experiences. Dont even get me started on conversations regarding sports.

My goal is to make dentistry an experience where patients feel comfortable with their understanding of their oral health and the treatment I perform. Its this trust and comfort that I strive for so that patients can have the best experience possible. Dr. Falkowski

Dr. Jonathan Falkowski originally started out to be a designer but always hada fascination for science. His love of art and design, mixed with his science background, led him to dentistry. Like his father, Dr. Jon Falkowski, Jonathan attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry for his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Since then, he has continued his education to adopt new technologies and techniques that will create a better experience for his patients.

Although he enjoys general dentistry for its variety, Dr. Falkowskis favorite aspects of dentistry have to do with 3D technology for cosmetics and implants. He spends countless hours, whether reading journal articles, discussing with colleagues, or attending courses out of town, to stay sharp on already-gained knowledge and techniques as well as tostayon the forefront of what is up and coming.

He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Saint Paul District Dental Society, cerecdoctors, Advanced Dental Implant Studies, and DCTC dental assisting program advisory board.

Dr. Falkowski and his wife Katie have three children:Brynn (born 2012), Reece (2015), and Jack (2018). His yellow LabEddie doubles as his hunting partner. Dr. Falkowski loves the outdoors. In addition to deer and pheasant hunting, he is an avid and competitive cyclist, cross-country skier, and triathlete.

At a young age I fell in love with the field of dentistry. It happened when I was in 10th grade while undergoing orthodontic treatment. Without any relatives in the field, it was my family dentist who introduced me to the artistic side of the profession. Ive always enjoyed art projects such as drawing and woodworking, and dentistry provides me with the perfect outlet to continue that passion.

The unique part of dentistry is that we get the opportunity to have long-lasting relationships with our patients. The greatest compliment a patient can give me is that they trust my judgment and understand the rationale for proposed treatment. My goals for treatment are simple resolving dental issues in the easiest and most cost effective way possible, and improving smiles to enable patients to live their best life. During my studies and clinical work at the University of Minnesota, I saw firsthand how an improved smile can change a patients life. From the moment I meet a new patient, and throughout their treatment, I focus on how I can fix any dental issues they may be facing while giving them the best aesthetic and functional outcome. Whether a patient has been in for routine checkups or is seeing a dentist for the first time in a while, I strive to make them feel comfortable and treat them as if they were a family member or friend. Serving patients in this way is the reason why I chose this profession. Dr. Schmura

Dr. Schmura completed his undergraduate studies at the University of St. Thomas and dental school at the University of Minnesota. It was during his undergraduate education where he met his wife Madeline, a fellow student who also is a practicing dentist in Edina. Dr. Schmura enjoys performing a wide variety of procedures for his patients such as endodontic therapy, surgery and cosmetic treatment.
