Dr. Ilona Fotek had completed her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from Jagiellonian University School of Dentistry in Poland in 2002 and acquired additional training in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She later followed her education in Graduate Operative Dentistry which she completed receiving a masters degree in science from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Furthermore, she was appointed to a university teaching position, educating dental students and reinforcing specific concepts learned during her residency.
In 2007, Dr. Fotek moved to South Florida where she continued her dedication to holistic dentistry, now in private practice. Dentistry has drastically changed over the years and is constantly evolving. The materials and techniques utilized today are far more advanced than ever before. Being young, active, and holistically driven, Dr. Fotek has spent many hours each year dedicated to continuing education as well as implementing the safest materials available. Participating in study groups and maintaining active memberships in numerous dental societies like the renowned Dawson Academy, allows her to maintain and implement current philosophies and treatments available and offer these to her patients. Dr. Foteks area of special interest is a holistic approach to create healthy and naturally beautiful smiles. Her feminine touch, artistic finesse, and special attention to details makes her sought after and highly recognized by her patients.
Dr. Fotek is a devoted mother to her daughter and son, and a loving wife to her husband with whom she shares common interests in dentistry. As a family, they enjoy traveling, skiing, gardening, and implementing a healthy holistic lifestyle.
As the office manager at Prestige Periodontal & Implant Center and Dental Healing Arts, my job is to oversee the office operations. I am committed to making sure every experience our patients and their families have here is a positive one. I joined Prestige Periodontal & Implant Center in 2013 and have over 25 years of experience in the dental field. In fact, Im cross-trained and feel confident in both the front and back office. I started as the primary EFDA and have since transitioned to the front office. I enjoy building relationships with our patients and learning about whats important to them.
My expertise is patient hospitality, treatment planning, explaining and coordinating the process of your dental care. I am from Honduras and have been living in the U.S. for almost 20 years. My background is industrial engineering, yet my passion is in healthcare. I truly enjoy helping those that are in dire need to get well again. In my free time, I like to take bike rides with my family, work out at the gym, and enjoy family time at the beach. Spending time with family and friends is very important to me.
I was born in Cuba and came to U.S in 2012. After completing an extensive dental assistant program in Miami, I obtained my license in Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary. I have been working with Dr. Fotek for a few years and have assisted in an array of advanced procedures. Learning is my passion, therefore I had additional training with lasers, Ozone, dental scanners, CEREC, Invisalign, and all aspects of advanced general and biological dentistry. My gentle touch and warm personality comforts all my patients and helps them with their dental fears. Serving patients and able to interact on the clinical side is a rewarding experience. I love being a part of a holistic office and helping patients understand the connection of the mouth with the rest of the body. Our team is full of diverse and enjoyable personalities. Everyone works as hard as they can to create an organized, enjoyable and welcoming workplace.

Dr. Ilona & Dr. Paul Fotek...both excellent dentists! I moved here 1 year ago...I was so fortunate to find Dr. Ilona! She is a gifted health practitioner...caring, expert technique, excellent diagnoses, and treatment. The office staff is wonderful! They are compassionate and reassuring...and communicate and treat patients very well. I strongly recommend Dental Healing Arts...and the holistic dental practice of Dr. Fotek. You will be delighted!

Top notch from the office staff to Dr. Paul Fotek. I had very large Tori which actually was one of if not the largest that Dr. Fotek has removed according to him. He explained the entire procedure and also said he would take care of my tongue tied vein that I've had my whole life that was preventing my tongue from its full range of motion. Both surgeries went as planned and I couldn't be happier with the end results. I would highly recommend the Foteks dental office to anyone needing Dental work.

Terrible business practices. After a cleaning, they hard sell you on work that you do not need. They place you in a sales room where they hard sell you to make an appointment. Pretty soon you paid for a 50% deposit on work you do not need. Used car salesman dental practice. Constant turnover of staff and dental hygienists. My 89 year old father got put in the sales room and was charged $2,200 (100% upfront) for future work he could have delayed or skipped altogether. My father did not even have his readers so he could not read the bill he paid upfront for. They take advantage of the elderly and that really ticks me off. The staff are not friendly. I always get the feeling I am paying for a lavish lifestyle for the Foteks who are both dentists.

Dr. Paul, Christine, and the entire front office staff are just awesome! Thank you for what you do. I went in this morning for the first of two visits for a dental implant, involving a holistic approach and method of ozone antimicrobial therapy, and I feel great and know that I'm on my way to re-establishing my overall health!

The office admins nor Doctor Fotek were wearing masks nor following protocol for the pandemic. When they worked on my mouth they did not wear a shield and this was my first time in 2 years without a mask and they gave me Covid. I am still suffering from the bad very overpriced dentistry and left with Covid long haul. BEWARE of This fancy office and wanna be holistic practices as they are not holistic or honorable.

Dr Fotek and her staff are wonderful. My experience with a lengthy procedure was calm for me as a patient and very professional on part of Dr Ilona and her assistant, Erica. I do drive a good 40 minutes ust to see her, and it is worth every mile! I highly recommend her.

This place says they are holistic.. but all they care about is taking your money. Very unprofessional. The management/front desk is horrendous they never have any idea what is going on. And the manager is very rude. Don't go to this scam of an establishment unless you want to be asked for your card as soon as you walk in the door and then thrown on the back burner. WATCH OUT!

UPDATE: (See original post on photos) Dr Fotek's response #1 is that my case is complex and she's not capable of treating me. Then she should tell her staff to avoid guaranteeing treatments. And she should update her website that her adult orthodontia practice is limited by case. If I knew any of these, I would not have agreed to be seen by her. But her staff sold it like gospel. Her shocking response #2 is an ad hominem and truly judgmental. She says "It is disturbing that with your medical background... you set orthodontic care as a priority, while ignoring the necessity to eliminate every possible source of infection" and "As a healthcare provider and somebody who has been under the care of 2 holistic dentists, I question why you have lingering chronic abscess". It is so bizarre that Dr Fotek thinks this way. If I wanted to "ignore" my infection, I would not have asked her to address it. I literally wrote on her questionnaire that it is one of the concerns I wanted treated. And my chronic infection was not known to me (because it's asymptomatic) until I was seen by a holistic dentist just a few months ago, so this is a new finding. It wasn't treated because of scheduling issues and my eventual relocation to this area as a travel nurse. So her questioning of me as a medical professional or the other two dentists is not so holistic and offensively out of touch. She also brought up meridian pathways which she failed to explain to me. I know for a fact holistic dentists take time to explain it because it is a very important concept. But she didn't, she didn't have time, because she spent a lot of my paid time with another patient. Her response #3: "Intraoral camera malfunction... was addressed immediately, with only a slight delay; should not be a reason for grief. These few minutes certainly did not take away from your examination, it just slightly extended it". FALSE. It was at least 12 minutes of troubleshooting because the staff could not figure out how to make it work. And no, my exam was not extended. In fact, I'm sure I left before my allotted timeframe because the exam happened so fast when she finally saw me an hour past my appointed time (I have a screenshot of the time I called my previous dentist when Dr Fotek spoke with them to request individual copies of my X-Rays and she can also review the video recordings of when I exited her office to prove my point). Oh and about the X-Rays, Dr Fotek didn't even bother to examine my X-Rays because as it turned out, she needed individual X-Rays. But her staff didn't even check if the X-Rays received is what Dr. Fotek needed in order to examine my oral bone structures. Holistic exam involves checking the oral bones too! It was seriously a mess. Her response #4: "l also feel offended by your exaggerated claim of stepping away for 30 minutes, which I had to do to see an emergency patient". I overheard some of the conversations she had with the other patient and it sounded like home instructions. I remember it being a calm conversation between her and the other patient and I remember getting frustrated why she's spending that much time with another patient when she's supposed to be with me. Is she seeing multiple patients at once? It appears to be on my case. If I knew that was what they meant by the "2-hour detailed and specialized holistic exam", I would have cancelled my appointment.

I recently had a deep cleaning done by Yuli. She is very thorough, careful, and compassionate. Making sure I was as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure and also followed up that evening to see how I was feeling. Everyone at the office is wonderful as well. Always smiling and welcoming.

I absolutely LOVE this dental office and will go no where else. Everyone is beyond kind, professional, and helpful. Dr. Ilona is a perfectionist and wants the best for her clients.
