The kids feel like they're at the movies while they enjoy a wide-screen television, tuned to cartoons and kid-friendly shows, from the comfort of movie theater seats. Also available are plenty of games, puzzles, books, and toys as well as a drawing and coloring table to pass any waiting time quickly.
Each time the children visit us, they can sign up to win our animal of the month. If we pick their name, we take their picture with their new friend, and it's placed on our 'wall of fame' with the winners from the other months.
At Dental Haven, we believe in gentle dental care, and do not use papoose boards (a full body restraint that many pediatric dental offices use). In fact, we don't even have one in the building. We work with children and parents alike to make your experience here memorable in a good way.
Dr. Alexandra is excited to be working with her father, Dr. Gonzo, at Dental Haven and to be back close to home after living around the country for her schooling. She graduated from undergrad at Marquette University. She then moved to the East Coast to earn her degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland Baltimore in 2015, where she was inducted into the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society and the Gorgas Odontologic Honor Society. She completed one year of advanced training at a General Practice Residency program at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Gonzo was born in Colombia, South America. He completed his studies at Xavier University before moving to the United States. Once in the U.S., he attended University of Iowas Dental School and then completed his specialty training at the program of pediatric dentistry at the University of Maryland - Baltimore in 1989.
Dr. Gonzo began his career in Kenosha, WI, continued on in Green Bay, WI and is currently practicing in Appleton, WI. He took over Dr. Fischers pediatric dental practice in 1998 under the name Dental Haven for Children. The name of the office has since changed to Dental Haven in 2016 with the addition of his daughter, Dr. Alexandra, who is a general dentist.
He is an active member of the Wisconsin Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the Wisconsin Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Institute for Growth and Development in Pediatric Dentistry.
