Their relationship, alongside Dr. Julia Karpman and our staff, gives our dental office the warm and welcoming atmosphere that our patients love-- when you step through our doors, it will feel like youre entering a friend's home rather than another lifeless dental office!

Dr. Grodovich proudly served the Rocky Hill community for many years, but now shes eager to move on to the next chapter of her life. She feels extremely confident leaving her patients in the capable hands of Dr. Matt and Dr. Marc Scoles and Dr. Karpman, and she knows theyll continue to provide the high quality and friendly care people have come to expect. In the letter shes written below, she wanted to say a heartfelt goodbye to all of her patients and friends and let them know they should look forward to the future because she certainly is!
I am very excited to announce that as my dental office has evolved, I have decided to partner with Drs. Marc and Matthew Scoles who currently practice in Glastonbury, CT. Over the past few months, I know some of you have had the pleasure to meet them, and have been able to see some of the great technological changes they have brought with them. I want you to be aware of the new faces in the dental office and I assure you of their commitment to the same great care and attention you have always received here.
Drs. Matt and Marc Scoles are the owners of Glastonbury Dental Associates in Glastonbury. Their dental has been providing high-quality care since 1980, and they have built their business on providing fair, ethical, and state-of-the-art dental care to all of their patients. They treat their patients like family and I am excited for them to meet you!
Over the coming months, we will continue to make significant dental office upgrades, including expanding the use of computerized charting, scheduling and billing. Additionally, we have moved to a digital X-Ray system in the dental office that will allow for better resolution in each picture, and greatly decreases the dose of X-Rays per film. I know this is only the beginning of a new journey for my practice, and Im excited to see where it goes!
As the year progresses, I will be transitioning to my retirement. Nothing can replace the many years I have spent with you, and the trust you have placed in me for your dental care. I will always treasure both the laughter and tears we have shared over the years, and the wonderful friendships I have developed with each and every one of you. Though I am looking forward to a new life in Florida full of rest, relaxation (and, of course, golf!) I will miss you all dearly. I feel great knowing I can leave you with such great care, and I Wish you the very best, from the bottom of my heart!
The bacteria in your mouth, if you fail to control it with brushing and flossing, can end up attacking more than just your teeth. The acids produced by these organisms can cause your gum tissue to become inflamed and uncomfortable, and the infection will only grow worse over time. At Dental Essentials of Rocky Hill, we offer comprehensive gum therapy to stop even advanced cases of gum disease before it can lead to tooth loss. Have you noticed that your gums are looking redder than usual lately? If so, call our dental office to ask about gum disease treatment in Rocky Hill, CT.
Scaling and root planing are two steps of a treatment for removing the harmful plaque and tartar that contribute to gum disease. Scaling focuses on cleaning the areas above and below the gum line that cannot be reached with a toothbrush or a normal cleaning. Once scaling is done, its time to smooth the roots of the teeth via root planing so that the gums can heal more easily (and so that bacteria have fewer rougher surfaces to attach to later).
During the later stages of gum disease, the gums will start to pull away from the teeth, forming pockets where bacteria can hide. As part of the recovery process, we need to clean these pockets to reduce the risk of a new infection. We do this by applying antibiotics to the affected areas, where the medication will continually fight back against bacteria for weeks at a time.

Most comprehensive exam I have ever had. Cassandra, the dental hygienist took her time and explained everything to me. Dr. Scores also explained everything to me and I never felt like I was being rushed. Carrie was very nice.
