Dr. Maggie Olano graduated from Dental School in 1995. After two years in private practice she decided to further her education and moved to Minnesota where she completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Olano excelled in this graduate program and in 1998 she was accepted to the Clinical Fellowship in Geriatric Dentistry at the same University. There are less than a handful of advanced training programs like this one left in the United States that provide the expertise to treat adults and older adults with a variety of cosmetic and restorative treatments including crowns, implants and dentures.
In 2000 'Dr. Maggie' moved with her family to the Washington DC area and became one of the first dentists to practice in Gainesville. Dr. Olano has had a tremendous impact in the surrounding communities establishing herself as a source of outstanding dental care for the numerous residents in the area. Her general and cosmetic dentistry have an unsurpassed record of quality and her warm, caring and personable professional manner makes her patient 's visits comfortable and enjoyable. Since 2009, Dr. Olano has been selected by her peers as a 'Top Dentist' on the surveys of Northern Virginia Magazine, Virginia Living and Washingtonian Magazine.Dr. Olano lives in Maryland with her husband, Dr. Polack, and their two children. In her time off she enjoys running, diving, traveling and spending time with her family.
Dr. Mariano A. Polack earned his dental degree in 1995 graduating at the top 1% of his class. Early in his career he received two research awards from the prestigious International Association of Dental Research. In 1997, following two years in private practice, he enrolled in the three-year Specialty Program in Prosthodontics at the University of Minnesota.
Prosthodontics is the specialty that deals with the esthetic restoration and replacement of teeth with veneers, crowns, implants and removable dentures. Prosthodontists are considered the experts in creating optimal dental function and appearance.
Dr. Polack graduated in 2000 obtaining a specialist certificate in Prosthodontics. In addition, he obtained a Master of Science Degree for his research leading to the development of a new system to test the bond strength of dental adhesives.
Dr. Polack moved to the Washington DC area in 2000 and has been in private practice since then. In addition, between 2002 and 2004, he was a guest scientist at the Ceramics Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology where he was involved in several research projects on dental porcelain.
Dr Polack has published more than 40 abstracts and papers on prosthodontics and dental materials in highly respected scientific journals. He also lectures extensively, bothnationally and internationally (Europe, Asia and the Americas),including presentations atworld-class dental meetings such as the Academy of Osseointegration and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (please follow this link to see more: Lectures ). Since 2009, Dr. Polack has been selected by his peersas one of the 'Top Dentists' on the surveys ofNorthern Virginia Magazine, Viriginia Living and Washingtonian Magazine. He is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration , American College of Prosthodontics , American Dental Association and a founding member of the Gainesville Study Club, a multi-specialty study club in Northern Virginia.

I recently did a search through my dental insurance to find a dentist closer to where I live for two reasons: one, I am now working primarily at home and second, the dentist I had been seeing retired a few years ago and totally different staff took over the practice so there wasn't really anyone left that I knew except for one hygienist. I decided it was time to find somewhere new and closer to where I live. I found this office and since it was 5 minutes from home and seemed to have many positive reviews I decided to give it a try. Great choice, everyone here is friendly, professional, and kind. And they are taking Covid precautions seriously. The hygienist who did my cleaning was so gentle, I didn't have sore gums from being poked and prodded too forcefully. Amazing. And then Dr. Maggie fixed a filling for me and she did an amazing job, it's beautiful. Thank you! Looking forward to my next cleaning 6 months from now!

You might have noticed a shop on the strip where the Gainesville giant is located, at the other end where the tire place is you will see a shop that kine of looks like it is abandoned, one day I was still looking for a dentist that was worth my time and effort and money. So after exhausting most of the dentist in the area I said what have I to loose and went through those doors and what to my surprise did I find was one amazing dentist and staff. Dr Polack is one of the most caring and talented dentist I have ever been to. I have not see Dr Olano but my husband has and says she is just as amazing, the moral to the story never judge a book by its cover.

I just love Dr. Olano and Dr. Polack and their whole staff. They are so loving towards my family. I had just had a baby and my appointment was coming up and they had no problem with me bringing my baby to the office. The caring staff even took care of the little one while I was getting worked on. I felt like I was part of the family. I recommend anyone to them.

So....finally I had my front teeth done! I had a broken and a crooked one right in the middle, since I was a kid. I have been coming here since i move to town in 2012. Lisa and Cindy have been doing my cleanings, both are great, thorough, and got me to relax while having my teeth cleaned. Anyway, Dr P has been telling me about how great my front teeth could look, and I finally did it. I had a two hour visit (that felt longer to be honest!). All the drilling and goop I was concerned about was not as bad as I thought. I came back to have them glued in three weeks later. I had one veneer (like half a cap), and one cap. No black rim like I see other people, and a great fit with my smile! Dr P was great throughout, I never have to ask what is going on, he explained all the steps, you can tell he knows what he is doing. The guy is in command! I did not want to do this really, but I am so glad I did! My smile looks wonderful.

I've been going to Drs. Olano and Polack for about 8 years now, and each visit has always been extremely pleasant. They have a warm, welcoming office and staff. In fact, most of the staff has been the same since I started, which says a lot! I have referred many of my friends to their office and will continue to do so!

Dr. Olano and her staff were so good to me. I just started going to them last week and had to get a filling the day after I got my teeth clean. I have lots of "dentist anxiety", but they were very gentle and patient. Lisa, the dental hygientist, is great as well as Dr. Olano. In fact, I am definitely more comfortable going to the dentist now-- they are that good. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
