Dr. Paula J. Schmidt grew up in the small town of Morrill, Nebraska. After graduating from dental school she moved to the Jackson area to create her first practice so she could offer residents high-quality care in many aspects of being a dentist. Recognizing that specialty care as a dentist often meant driving two or more hours to neighboring cities, Dr. Schmidt quickly made it a priority to expand her areas of expertise to offer her patients nearly every kind of oral care such as implants, orthodontics, and prosthodontics. Her commitment to continuing advanced education means she is always knowledgeable about the latest state-of-the-art technology, materials, treatments, and procedures in the industry. Her most recent training has been focused on Sleep and TMD Therapy. She is fascinated with the correlation between sleep and breathing disorders and whole body health.
Dr. Schmidts comprehensive, whole body and mouth approach is what distinguishes her practice and ensures her patients enjoy a beautiful, healthy smile that will last a lifetime. She looks forward to working with her team every day to improve the smiles and lives of the residents she shares the community with.
When she is not attending seminars to hone her skills or helping out in the community, Dr. Schmidt is very health conscious and can be found exercising with her husband, Dwayne, at their CrossFit gym. She has a soft spot for animals and enjoys fostering dogs as well as spending time with her own two dogs. She also enjoys hunting, hiking, and reading.
Jess is originally from Cheyenne, WY, where she grew up. After graduating high school in Omaha, NE, she moved back to Cheyenne to attend Laramie County Community Colleges Dental Hygiene Program. She received her degree in Dental Hygiene in 2020 and began practicing hygiene in Laramie, WY. Jess visited Jackson every summer growing up and fell in love with the Valley and decided to make Jackson home.
Ever since she was a little girl, Jess wanted to be a dentist; by the time college rolled around, dental hygiene was her top career choice. Making patients feel comfortable and welcomed is one of Jesss top priorities at our office. She is time efficient while being thorough and providing customized dental care to each patient.
From hiking, paddle-boarding, horse training, and snowboarding, Jess is kept busy outside the dental office. She recently joined CrossFit and is loving the team dynamic and intensity of the sport. She is a dedicated cat mom to her 3 year old orange tabby, Finn, who joins her for hikes and outdoor adventures.
