Dr. Brian Shin and our team work hard to provide patients with a high level of care in our modern and inviting practice. We offer a full range of general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry services to help our patients achieve all of their oral health goals.
Dr. Brian Shin received his DDS degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. He continued his training by completing a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry followed by a one-year fellowship in Implant Dentistry, both at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He has also earned numerous continuing education credits in implant dentistry, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, and occlusion
His professional memberships include the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Chicago Dental Society. When hes not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 boys.
Sharon is the first friendly face you will see when coming to our office. She is our front desk coordinator and has over 30 years of experience in the dental field. She has a wealth of knowledge and would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your visit. She is married, has two daughters, and has three grandsons.
Karen joined our team in 2019 and has been in the dental field since 2008. She is the fourth generation in her family to work in the dental field following after her great grandfather, Dr. Charles Freeman; grandfather, Dr. Theodore Pauly; and her father, Dr. James Pauly. Karen began as a chair-side assistant and over time has been trained in all areas of the office. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially keeping up with the latest techniques and dental technology! Outside of the office, Karen has spent most of her free time volunteering as a foster home to local rescues for dogs and she and her fianc currently own 3 rescue dogs. When shes not volunteering with local rescues, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her growing family.

Dr. Shin has been my dentist for over 8 years now. Met him in Oak Park and loved his gentle approach and expert technique. I suffer from anxiety and fear when it comes to dentists, but Dr. Shin immediately puts me at ease both with words of encouragement and his beautiful work on my teeth. He is so good at his job that I do not even feel any pain and feel safe during the entire procedure. Be it a cavity, or a crown I feel safe and when it is all over I am so glad I came. Even though Dr. Shin has started his own practice in Glen Ellyn (far from where I live in Oak Park) I will drive to see him although it is a distance from me. It is not easy to find a dentist as wonderful as him. I highly recommend you visit him and just be ready to be amazed!

After trying several others in this area, my wife and I discovered Dental Care of Glen Ellyn to be just what we were looking for. They are experts in their work, up to date in their equipment, and friendly, even cheerful. There is an upbeat atmosphere in the whole office that suggests that Dr. Shin and his staff truly enjoy their work and care for their patients.

They have friendly staff, do a very thorough job cleaning and teach you what you can do to keep your teeth clean. There smile club dental plan is pretty reasonable as well.

I am not a fan of going to the dentist, but Brian Shin has won me over! He's professional, personal, & sings along to the background music while he's working! I would say everyone should go to Dr. Shin, but then I'd never get an appointment...

I found my overall experience to be top notch from Jessica's professionalism as a Hygienist and her thoroughness was appreciated. And, as always. Dr. Shin was on top of things as was his front desk at getting me in and out in a timely, efficient manner.

Dental Care of Glen Ellyn, Dr. Brian Shin's office has been a great provider of care for my whole family's mouth for the last 2 years here while we have lived in Glen Ellyn. Dr. Shin's bedside manner is great especially with my kids, and the staff there are thorough and awesome as well. Highly recommend this office!

Long post ahead but much needed after my visit to Dr Shin this morning. I have been a patient for a few months since moving to Glen Ellyn and have had great experiences here. Everyone is really nice and I never feel nervous to go. Dr Shin is so kind, professional and explains all of the steps perfectly! Unfortunately, I chipped one of my front teeth over the weekend and have been devastated over the thought of it never looking the same. They were able to get me in quick and Sharon was so helpful reassuring me that we would get it taken care of. Dr Shin repaired my tooth this morning and I am so blown away I could cry. It looks absolutely amazing. You would never ever be able to tell a difference. Not even a slight difference. It is 1000% a perfect match. Thank you for not only hearing my concerns and fixing the chip, but for giving me back my smile and confidence!!

No one likes the dentist but this place will make it feel less painful. Located right at the heart of downtown Glen Ellyn, you won't be disappointed. Dr. Shin and his dental team are fantastic at what they do. Sharon is wonderful to be around while waiting in the front office and very patient with you, even when schedule conflicts come up. The team is always happy to see you. You will never leave the place without a perfectly clean, and happy smile.

I highly recommend Dr. Shin and Dental Care of Glen Ellyn! After multiple negative experiences with other dentists over the years, I feel so grateful to have found Dr. Shin. He & his staff are super friendly and professional & the office is modern and clean. My kids didn't complain and were even impressed! (Big WIN in my book!) Above & beyond - he even gave up his Saturday evening recently to replace a bad filling that was giving me a lot of pain/trouble. I am thrilled to have found just a great dentist locally for me and my family!

Dr Shin was a new dentist to me. Went in for a routine clean. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Always explaining what they are doing and why. Even provide price estimates for any additional work needed. Highly recommend.

Prompt, professional and friendly. I visited Dr.Shin during Covid-19 and was really impressed at their meticulous protocol and care to keep me safe. Everyone involved in my care was excellent from the receptionist to the dental hygienist to of course the dentist! Everything was efficient and comprehensive and I was kept in the loop every step of the way. Both my 3 and 6 year old also had their exams and it was the easiest yet! Staff were great keeping them engaged and making visiting the dentist a positive experience. They literally couldn't wait to brush their teeth with their new toothbrushes as soon as we got home.

Dr. Shin and his team are amazing. First, and most important, I always feel comfortable and trust that I will be cared for in a pain-free way! I used to be afraid of going to the dentist for many years, and now I have no concerns at all about coming in. Dr. Shin and staff is upbeat, fun, and funny--an added bonus, sometimes laughing at the dentist! Dr. Shin uses a careful application and waits until the novocaine takes effect. By the time he gets started, I don't feel a thing. I've had several procedures including crowns and root-canals, always comfortable and, again, pain-free. Our kids are all teenaged or older, so we all go to see Dr. Shin. Nobody complains about going to the dentist. They also have a professional appointment-setting system that sends texts to remind me of my appointment, and on the day of, to fill out the Covid screening questions before I arrive. If you are considering a new dentist, you cannot go wrong with Dr. Shin and his team at Dental Care of Glen Ellyn, (in the heart of the Village adjacent to the train station). Thanks Doctor Shin!!

Dr. Shin is a wonderful, caring dentist! I was hesitant about going to the dentist since I have not gone in years. He was extremely kind and constantly checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable. He also told me what to expect and talked me through what he was doing at each step. When I came back to get my cavities filled, he called a few days later to follow up. I will definitely continue to go to him.
