Dr. Kamand Shaibani and the members of our team are dedicated to serving our community with advanced treatments and comprehensive education. Dr. Shaibani has a patient-centered approach to her dentistry. She believes that anxiety can be overcome to help achieve stellar oral health and a great smile. Committed to continuing education, Dr. Shaibani encourages her team to attend seminars and workshops to be up to date on the latest technologies and techniques. She is constantly incorporating these into her practice.
She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society, CEREC Doctors, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and participates in a local Spear Study Club with several other colleagues and specialists.
In Dr. Raffertys spare time he enjoys spending time with his lovely 5 children and following their extracurricular activities. His other hobbies include fine cooking, classical music, world history, Renaissance art and old film.
Following graduation from residency, Dr. McCarty practiced anesthesia in the greater San Francisco, CA area. Originally from New England, he relocated back East in 2007, where he now provides mobile office based anesthesia services in many dental offices throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Dr. McCarty's patient population includes both children and adults, especially those who are medically compromised and dental phobic.
Dr. McCarty is a staff anesthesiologist at the Franciscan Children's Hospital in Brighton as well as a clinical assistant professor at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine Department of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a visiting instructor within the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
Since 2005, the Journal of the Massachusetts Dental Society has annually selected 10 MDS member dentists per year who have been in the profession for 10 years or less and have made a significant contribution to the profession, their community, or organized dentistry. Dr. McCarty was named a recipient of this honor in 2009. Dr. McCarty spends his free time with his wife and daughter going to Celtics games and travelling.
Brittany is a life long Woburn native who got her dental debut with Dental Care of Burlington in early 2018. While you may have seen her at the front desk, she also works behind the scenes as our Insurance coordinator. She prides herself on making sure patients have utilized all the dental benefits they have already paid for! Also, as the New Patient Liaison, she is responsible for making sure all new patients feel welcomed, know exactly what will be happening on their initial visit, and making sure that everything is squared away so that patients simply need to sit back and relax after arriving. She attends many continuing education webinars through the American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM) to make sure she is up to code on the ever-changing world of insurance. In her spare time (when she has it!) Brittany enjoys focusing on her photography.
Melissa joined our team in the Fall of 2013. She is a graduate of New Hampshire Technical Institute and is a licensed hygienist in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Melissa also became licensed for local anesthesia in 2019. She was also given the title of Lead Hygienist in 2019 to make sure all hygiene patients are receiving the highest level of care possible. Melissa's outgoing personality helps her in putting her patient's at ease in the chair. It's not uncommon for her to receive a hug from a patient after a visit. Outside the office she likes to fish, snow ski, and spend time with her daughter.
Erica joined our team in the Summer of 2020. She is a graduate of Middlesex Community College, completing her degree in Dental Hygiene. She is also certified in administering local anesthesia. At a young age, Erica developed a strong passion for dentistry. Erica is excited to be part of the Dental Care of Burlington Family providing optimum care to all patients, one smile at a time! Outside the office Erica loves to play softball and spending time with her family and friends.
Ana joined our team in early 2017. She works with all doctors in the office, assisting with patients and enjoys working in the lab. Ana knows our office (and most patients) like the back of her hand, because of this Ana was made Lead Assistant in 2019. Ana enjoys playing guitar, is part of her worship team at her church, and loves to hike. Originally from Brazil, Ana speaks fluent Portuguese.
Sachi joined our team in January of 2020. Sachi earned her Bachelors of Dental Surgery Degree (B.D.S) from Nootan Dental College in India. Currently, as a dental assistant, Sachi works closely with the doctors to help provide a more efficient dental treatment for each patient. In addition, Sachi is actively pursuing an entrance exam to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. In her spare time, Sachi likes to read, paint, and spend time with her family!
All members of the staff (clinical and otherwise) receive training in HIPAA policies and procedures, are trained in OSHA and CDC guidelines, and receive CPR certification. Staff regularly participate in continuing education courses and annually attend the Yankee Dental Conference as a team.

Fantastic staff. Very professional, efficient and knowledgeable, yet extremely friendly and warm. Just had a tooth extraction in under 10 mins! Didn't even realize it was done! The first anesthetic needle was the most painful part, and I barely felt that.

Dr Shaibani is very nice, professional and caring to her patients. She was so caring that she even contacted my previous dentist to discuss my issue. I am a new patient here and recently moved here and for two sessions i've had with her am pretty pleased. I would recommend her to my family and friends.

I absolutely love this dentist. I first went to Dental Care of Burlington in 2021, when I was pregnant. I accidentally chipped a tooth and was due to give birth the following week. I live in Quincy but was commuting to Burlington at the time. I called every dentist in Quincy including my usual dentist and no one could fit me it for weeks. I called Dental Care of Burlington because they were close to where i was working at the time. They were able to schedule me the very next day. Because I was pregnant I couldn't use Novocain, and it turned out I needed a filling in the chipped tooth. Dr. Shaibani and her staff were amazingly kind and patient with me. They fixed my tooth and at the end gave me a heated and scented towel to wipe my face with. Since then they have become my main dental office. I will recommend them forever! I have a fear of drowning at the dentist and they are so good about addressing my concerns. Dr. Shaibani told me, "you have to address the fear, or people will never come back because they'll be scared." It made me feel heard and validated. The communication and transparency is amazing! They are so straight forward with the amount of money expensive procedures will cost and will work with you to use your insurance the most efficient way. They also give scented towels after everything! 1000/1000 stars! Switch to this dentist! Drive for an hour from your home to get there. It's worth it! (I swear I'm not getting a kickback from this review)

I have been going to DCB for the past 12 years. I was referred here by a friend who knew I struggled with anxiety about going to the Dentist. Dr Shaibani always makes me feel comfortable. My Dental Hygienist Melissa is absolutely AMAZING! I have a strong gag reflux and Melissa is the only Hygienist I've ever been to who can clean my teeth and take successfull XRays without me gagging. Her personality and skill set combined, actually make going to the Dentist a pleasant experience for me. I truly recommend DCB to anyone looking for Dental Care!
