The philosophy we have at Dental Care for Kids is a simple one; provide the highest quality dental care in a safe, comfortable, caring environment without fear. We want you and your child to be comfortable about asking important questions about pediatric dentistry, dental concerns, and interacting with our dentists and staff.

We treat your child as we would treat our own. Children, regardless of their fear, anxiety, or special health care needs, should be treated with respect and kindness. Every time your child visits Dental Care for Kids they enter a child-friendly office that is comfortable and clean.

Dr. Whitt would love to meet your child 's pediatric dentistry needs. Having five children himself, Dr. Whitt understands his patients and is able to make the connections that ease fears and create a positive experience. Dr. Whitt is originally from Oregon but has made Idaho his home since 2005. He enjoys all kinds of sports. He loves spending time with his family mountain biking, skiing or boating to name a few of their favorite hobbies. A unique fact about Dr. Whitt is that he speaks both French and Tahitian. If you want to brighten his day, next time you see him use the Tahitian greeting 'Ia ora na' (yo-rah-nah).

Dr. Whitt graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors degree in business management in 1997. He then went on to obtain his DMD degree from Oregon Health and Sciences University in 2002. In 2003 Dr. Whitt spent a year at the University of Utah hospital practicing and studying general dentistry. From there Dr. Whitt, his wife Andy, and their four children (#5 was born in Rochester)moved across the country to Rochester New York to pursue specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at The University of Rochester/Eastman Dental Center. After two years in New York, Dr. Whitt completed his training in Pediatric dentistry and then moved back west to the Treasure Valley. Since Dental Care for Kids opened its doors in December of 2007, Dr. Whitt and his amazing staff have created a very welcoming, fun and efficient pediatric dental office. My three boys are checked in and out in under 30 minutes. Everything is so efficient and I really appreciate you going over brushing habits with them. They seem to listen when the dentist's office reminds them!

My son had an emergency abcessed tooth that needed to be pulled and a spacer put in. The quality of care is top notch. Dr Coletti and the assistants working with my son made sure to make him very comfortable with the treatment he needed and were so very kind. And I was grateful they were able to do everything in one office visit. Office is clean and fun for the kids. Had little trouble scheduling at first but may be in part due to asking for an emergency appt as a new patient. The front desk promptly called me back same morning when they had a cancellation to get us in. I appreciated that. Services are very expensive for self pay but that's to be expected with a pediatric dentist. Overall worth it for the wonderful care we received. Was very happy with our first visit.

Simple visits were nice. Staff was always friendly. Then we needed a treatment. My kiddo is at the age where a needle to the mouth is scary. She had a fear and wasn't able to calm herself down fast enough therefore we were told her appt time is up. Then told us she can only get treatment by being put under, located downstairs. The minute she heard the alternative-- she said she would rather get a shot in her mouth. So I attempted to make another appt and they refused us- said they will only allow her to go under, no second chances. We immediately went to another dental place and are much happier.

Dental Care for Kids is professional from the first call. The office staff took all the necessary information and scheduled a quick appointment for our new patient appointment. The moment we walked in the office was clean, the staff was welcoming. My 3 year old was overwhelmed with joy to see a playroom. The playroom is kept extremely clean and is pirate themed. We just fell in love with Kim the dental assistant. She was calm, and loving toward my 3 year old son who is stubborn and and strong willed. She made us feel at home due to struggling with a big move and a new environment. I could not say enough about Dr. Coletti, this is definitely his joy, and passion. He was so wonderful towards my son. My son was nervous being in a new dental office. Dr. C has a great catchy song (which my son is still singing) and it was so helpful to calm him down. Dr. C's background is extensive, and impressive and makes me feel lucky to call him my child's dentist.

I would NOT recommend taking your child to this dentist. I took my 6 year old granddaughter today for a tooth to be filled. The hygienist Becky was great but with that said it stopped there. The dentist threatened my granddaughter & made her feel bad when she was already nervous. Had we and Becky been prepared for the dentist changing the plan before starting the initial treatment it may have ended differently. How can any parent etc. make a sound decision on their Childs dental care while they are comforting their child during a procedure? When we spoke to the office manager about our concerns she again made us feel bad and like it was our fault. We can't be the only clients whose child is nervous or scared. The dentist talks about safety does that also not include if he/they make the child feel safe? I would like to be able to talk to the office manager in more depth about our experience so they can build off our experience but honestly I don't believe she will listen. I am a kind and grateful 62 year old who appreciates people in this profession but this is not my first rodeo, and this is not how it is supposed to start & end. Make it a great day!

Everyone here is always so considerate of your time. Never a long wait time when you arrive, hygienists get right to work, dentist is ready & waiting. My boys love all the different themed rooms. X-rays are always a breeze, which says a lot because my boys used to hate getting them at other offices. All the staff are friendly to the boys & do a great job explaining how to take care of their teeth, showing them the x-rays etc.

First off, I chose this pediatric dentist because of all the amazing reviews. I brought my daughter in when she was about 1.5 and they had to pull her 2 front teeth and add 2 caps to her lateral incisors. Well not even a few months later somehow her cap "chipped" and it revealed the ugly cement color underneath so I decided to have my daughter go under anesthesia yet again so that they could fix the silver color shining through right in the front of her smile (it made it look like she had something on her tooth) and somehow the dentist pulled her entire tooth out saying she had a "bad root" and the tooth just came out without any force -- although there was no sign of weakness or looseness in her mouth. Maybe all the 5 star reviews are for the older kids, but I would take your infants and toddlers elsewhere as I don't believe they may be as gentle as them seem with your babies once they're in the operating room out of sight. Not only that but I'm not sure how the dentists work chipped off her tooth like that to begin with. The place feels very nice and welcoming with cute decorations for the kids, but I have had an awful experience from them and my daughter is now traumatized from the dentist. They tried to offer to fix the problem by adding more fake teeth, but her doctor advised that anesthesia for a third time was not recommended nor the need for fake teeth at a young age AND I just do not feel comfortable ever working with this dentist again. --The office manager was a very nice lady and the other staff was very friendly and sweet to my daughter. They were gentle when they took her out for the anesthesia, but I recommend finding a DIFFERENT DENTIST.

Dental Care For Kids is amazing! We took three kids in all at once, one of which is a very nervous and headstrong two-year-old, and I was amazed how smoothly it went. We were done in less than an hour, the office is SO cute, and the staff there are miracle workers. They give amazing care and individualized attention and somehow make going to the dentist something for kids to look forward to! Even the anxious child can feel at ease there. Never thought we'd say we're excited for our next dentist visit, but we are!
