Dr. Braid was glad to have the opportunity to come back home to Southern Illinois when she opened Dental Care for Kids in 2008. She considers herself blessed to work with an amazing team who help serve the dental needs of the hard working families of Southern Illinois.
Dr. Braid received her dental degree from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, Illinois. She received her certificate in pediatric dentistry from University of Missouri-Kansas City in affiliation with Childrens Mercy Hospital. There she received specialized training that allows her to provide oral conscious sedation and provide services in an operating room environment. She is a proud Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Braid dedicates a great deal of time to her practice and other professional and community organizations including her church, the dental society, and the health department just to name a few. But what Dr. Braid enjoys most is spending time with her husband and children as well as her extended family, who also reside here in Southern Illinois. They spend a lot of time playingback yard sports like basketball and street hockey, riding bikes, boating, hiking, baking and camping.

I love the Dentists here and the atmosphere is always so friendly! It's the only dental office my son has ever felt comfortable in!

We've been so pleased with Dental Care for Kids for our 13 year old and 3 year old. Our toddler is skittish, but feels comfortable in this office. It is very kid friendly. He dressed up for his visit last year for Halloween and they even gave him a gift card for participating in dress up! He was so happy. Quick, easy visits.

We love Dental Care for Kids. All three of my child have gone here since the beginning of their dental needs. 2-8-11 years old. I have not one thing to complain about. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They make my family feel very comfortable and always listen to any concerns or needs we have. 5 star rating for this family!

We wont be returning for services here. They are very good at making you feel bad. A little customer service wouldn't hurt Denise. I would advise those who can to use any other dental office. This office is very good at churning out product and not necessarily concerned with keeping kids healthy.

They saw my 3 year old son for all of about 5 minutes and he was scared and cried so they said that they needed to put him under anesthesia to clean his teeth and fill a tiny cavity he has... I didn't like that to begin with but when they handed me the paperwork for how much it would cost (thousands of dollars) I understood why they were so quick to want to anesthetize my toddler for simple procedures. Will not ever bring my child back here.

This place way overcharges. I was given an estimate of what I owed 2 months ago for a filling that was scheduled. The estimate was $174 remaining of the $196 I already paid. I was then told later that it would be over $230. Funny how the amount just went up for one filling. The tooth was bad and needed to be filled soon, but yet they scheduled her two months after her cleaning. She got sick and had to reschedule again, so they moved it another two month. Now they are telling us that she will have to have a crown. The reason it is so bad is because they schedule their patients too far out. They obviously do not know how to prioritize their patients or charge the right amounts to insurance. Avoid this place if you can and go elsewhere. Update: 02-17-2022 We switched to Marion Family Dentistry and OH-BOY am I glad we did. On the first visit, they had her tooth filled. The same tooth that Dental Care for Kids stated would have to be a crown and over $400 out-of-pocket for the procedure. The cost out-of-pocket at Marion Family Dentistry was only $107 for the whole procedure, which was only a filling. When I questioned the bill at Dental Care for Kids, I was threatened with a lawsuit for "harassments" and my family was shamed in their office. Marion Family Dentistry is amazing. Staff is amazing! They were so good with my daughter. I highly recommend them. This is an honest review and in no way is it any form of harassments. If Dental Care for Kids does not like their billing being questioned and if they do not like one star reviews, then treat your customers better. A refund is not going to make me change my review or take it down (like your office suggested) People deserve the truth and, so they can make an informed decision.

Dr Braid was exceptional! She was so sweet, professional & very knowledgeable. We are so impressed with their efficient, kind team. We had the best experience during a very traumatic time for our family. Our son was hit in the face by a teammate & needed an extraction due to the tooth breaking from the blow. Dr Braid was able to remove all of the tooth & root with our son being happy & comfortable throughout the entire visit. Thank you again for helping us & our community! We are very lucky to have you in our area.

Very careing staff. My 2.5 year old had 4 front teeth removed with Conscious sedation. Iv been dreading this as a father for months.everything went well my daughter is doing great and cant even tell she got teeth out. Vey happy little girl. Pain free

The dentists here are wonderful! If I could rate them separately from the office staff I would. The office staff has consistently overcharged us from the very first appointment. Even on our first appointment when I knew that Met Life Dental covers 100% of the cleaning and fluoride costs, the office staff attempted to charge for fluoride. I refused to pay as I knew better. Therefore, before every procedure I get all codes that will be billed to my insurance with the billing amounts. I call the insurance and find out what my portion will be. Every time I am told that my amount is incorrect and am required to pay more. On average $20-30 more. Then when the EOB comes out I find out that they DID overcharge me. I then have to call and get a refund which they don't want to do. They would rather leave a credit on my account. Not happening to us anymore. This was the last time. We will not be returning. I hope the dentists know that their office staff is running off good paying patients. Such a shame.

The whole staff are wonderful and are hard at work to make the children feel safe and also have fun.
